To better research ghosts, Mortos trapped numerous spirits in his pearl through a combination of potent spells, alchemical mixtures, enchanted relics, and old fashioned hoping it works. Nowadays, he's forgotten how he did it and so can't replicate it. His pearl no longer reflects his memories or emotions, it just contains sassy ghosts who can't escape. It works a lot like a magic 8 ball.
His daughter, Anfanin, used similar, less powerful Shadow spells, gradually increasing in complexity. Performing these spells as one's magical ability increases is an old Shadow tradition to make oneself into a true fortune teller. It's common for Pearlcatchers to permanently enchant their pearls to channel their fortune telling abilities, and it's said that because of the personal significance of the pearls, that they tell the most accurate and personal futures for their clients. Though, whether this is true or not is unknown, it's just superstition.

Zuri here is actually an automaton, and therefor can't produce or add to pearls. The pearl she has belonged to her creator, who she can now barely remember, and is the last connection she has to them.
Currently she's trying to find someone able to play the memories put into the creation of pearls in hopes of her creator's designs going into the creation of his. The poor thing really needs some heavy maintenance, but the clan engineer refuses to tinker with Zuri too much without her blueprints in fear of hurting her. The tiny repairs so far haven't really helped, though, so she's hoping to find help soon.

Okay, background: Nature eggs are seeded right after laying with a seedling infused with Nature magic. Some of that magic diffuses into the egg to keep the hatchling alive; the rest stays and keeps the seedling alive. When the egg hatches, the seedling is taken and planted somewhere as a ritual thing. For all hatchlings.
Tamra was an eager little hatchling with parents who were slightly distracted at the time. She went about her business eating her eggshell to make a pearl, but by the time her parents realized what happened she had eaten her egg-tree seedling too. Now it's the core of her pearl, which glows green and has magical life-restoring/flower-growing powers.

Sirena's pearl is what keeps her active. Because she is a frostbitten dragon she lost the energy to do many things as its slow for her. If she does not have her pearl touching her she will fall asleep and hibernate basically. If someone else touches her pearl with our her knowing they can become frostbitten themselves. Her pearl is light blue with energy swirling inside of it from this.
