Night Tigers came about as a way for me to develop a Subspecies with enough variety that each dragon has a chance to look not exactly like every other of the Sub, but with limits enough that it doesn't get confusing and they retain a similar feel.

--

Lore:

Night Tigers were created in the dead of night as guardians to the Shadowbinder. Molded from the damp clay found deep beneath the swampy deltas of the Tangled Wood, these terracotta soldiers were imbued with the Shadowbinder's magic to walk among the surface dwellers.

Their dark coats emulate those of any normal dragon, but each Night Tiger retains some part of their original clay bodies. Most commonly they keep a hollow clay belly, but some are born instead with solid clay extremities. This serves as a constant reminder of their origin beneath the earth and their implied servitude to the Shadowbinder.

--

Genetics:

Breed: Coatl
Primary: Tiger
Secondary: Stripes, Current
Tertiary: Underbelly, Glimmer, Okapi

Standard Colors:

These are standard Night Tigers. Born of the Shadowbinder and living to serve her wherever they are sent.

Eyes: Shadow

Primary: Grey-Thistle
Secondary: Grey-Thistle
Tertiary: Ivory-Carmine

Enlightened Colors:

Enlightened Night Tigers have been touched by the Lightweaver and brought out of the darkness. They exhibit a lightening of their bodies and in some special cases, they are touched to the core, causing them to exhibit light eyes.

Eyes: Shadow, Light

Primary: Normal range + Maize-Silver
Secondary: Normal range + Maize-Silver
Tertiary: Normal range

EITHER THE PRIMARY OR SECONDARY MUST BE IN THE MAIZE-SILVER RANGE TO QUALIFY.

I have a few dragons that will be able to produce this Subspecies at 100% accuracy and will be able to breed them when I have room! For the time being though, I only have a few examples of real dragons that will be considered full Night Tigers with the proper eyes and everything.

They are both in my sister's lair:

What I ask of YOU are:

Opinions on the Subspecies in general, the lore, ect.

Whether I should expand the Enlightened to include Maize/White/Ice Expanded!

Those with qualifying dragons willing to add to the gene pool

Interest in hatchlings!!

Help with graphics!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY FEEDBACK YOU HAVE!

@scarr66
Cute. I think you should definitely include White and Ice for the Enlightened breed. White Tigers are so pretty.

@scar66 This subspecies looks very cool, it is a pity I am in the Ice flight, so I cannot help you with breeding... :/
And I think expanding the range is not necessary for the Enlightened. ^^ I would probably lower their dark colour range.

@shozurei @Killunia

Thanks for your opinions, guys! Still on the fence about expanding Enlightened's range. I am pretty set on the standard range though and do not plan to change it (at least until the expanded color wheel comes out; then I may have to adjust).

White Tigers are pretty cool though... I just don't want to make their range wide enough that they become as plentiful as the standard LMAO. So much to think about.

@scar66 That is why I think lowering their dark colour range (putting out for example obsidian, midnight, black and midnight if that gene is in there too) would be a slightly better option than expanding to white. ^^ Or you could leave it as it is now.

@Narif

Thank you for the offer! I'll definitely keep that in mind in case I want to breed an all-enlightened pair.
