They mostly live in dark, dry caves and have excellent night vision due to this fact. Trying to avoid water at all cost, it can still happen that their scales get wet from time to time. You may wonder why that is a problem: Well, being exposed to water over time leads them to developing a patina of rust on top of their scales. Having a strong dislike of this (and flowstone caves!!!) they only leave their habitat when the sun burns fierce and hot. Sunbathing is one of their favourite activities – it makes their lives more bearable when the rust gradually disappears while exposed to sunlight – until the rain season starts again and the cycle starts anew.
