Earth dragons tend to be practical, and when you're intentionally living out in the desert you tend to appreciate practicality more than most. They wear simple hoods and mantles to protect themselves from the sun, goggles because they fly so high so often, and satchels because you can never have too many pockets. Fancy jewelry would not go over well, and especially not silks. A Pillartop Glider with a fondness for cloth would hang fabrics throughout their lair as windbreaks instead. Seriously, why bother living in a place with such glorious skies if you're just going to bury yourselves in the dirt? (There is so much awful, smug gossip between the Gliders and Harpies. It's probably not the best basis for a friendship, but it beats being enemies.)

So what do Earth-element Nocturnes do? Well..

Fact: Survival in Dragonhome means digging down. Shade and moisture can only be found in subterranean caverns. You'd have to be stubborn and crazy to try otherwise.

Fact: Nocturnes are good at crazy. Earth dragons are great at stubborn.

Pillartop Gliders make their homes atop the cliffs of Dragonhome, soaring as high as their brethren delve deep. They harvest what scant moisture they require from the high, thin clouds over the Shattered Plain, and their vision is so sharp they can spot prey below from cloud level. They visit their earthbound flightmates often, but there's a level of mutual incomprehension of each other's lifestyles. Still, if there's anything Earth understands, it's stubborn.

Pillartop Gliders favor useful items. Earth dragons tend to be practical, and when you're intentionally living out in the desert you tend to appreciate practicality more than most. @Mahaiwe

@Saphelle

Nah, you're good, I think I've reserved enough posts. I'll keep you on the general pinglist and let you know when there's news! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but I wanted to get the thread more or less squared away before the first dergs started hatching.

@Mahaiwe

Hurray! Pillartop gliders! I look forward to them hatching <:

I have my own subspecies here if you're interested! Maybe we could be affilliates? :D

*snips ribbon* Thread is open!

@Raaxon That'd be awesome, your lilypond dragons are lovely! I'll give you a banner to put in your thread/signature as soon as I have one made. Do you have a banner I can use, or should I just put a link up?

Like you, I don't have a banner yet, sadly! Once zi get one made, I'll toss it over to you, but for now, just a link will be fine <:

@Mahaiwe

Hi I hope it's ok to post now. These are such lovely dragons! And I wonder if I could ask if I could be put on the pinglist for those ivory ones?
