Race Day in Wind Flight

A bonnet that may in Summer wear

I drew this entirely in the car on a 10 hour drive. It was rough to say the least. I only had some pens, but had no green and 3 different shades of teal. [emoji=spiral deadpan size=2]
Ok now for the description.
It started as a plain hat, brown and leather, but soon turned into something different. The base looked almost like a cowboy hat, but dragons were turning base hats into creative masterpieces for the skyraces. A small spiral approached the booth, her arms full with a plethora of scraps from found materials. She grabbed the base hat and turned it around. It was boring, sure, but nothing a little creativity couldn’t fix. She took an old scarf that was patterned with leaves and tied it around the middle of the hat. After tying string to a bunch of tiny turquoise gems, they hung from the front rim of the hat. It couldn’t be a wind hat without feathers either, so she glued a bouquet of feathers at the front. In the middle of the feathers stood a gem. One that represented her favorite racer, Mitzi. Your hat should of course show who you are rooting for! Another string of turquoise gems was placed around the middle hat. The hat still needed something more though. She tied up a quick bow that went to the back of the hat but that wasn’t it. What it really needed was something that would make her hat stand out. It needed pure wind magic. Maybe this wouldn’t be possible, but if you know the right dragon you can get it to happen. Finally her hat was down, but now it was time to go marvel at the other hats.

Copper entered the contest, having been pushed in by Fennris, who wanted to see if Copper could make, "the best hat [Fennris] has ever seen, or at least the most creative one".
Having a polite nod at the dragon who pushed the paper her way, Copper looked at the materials that were set out. Making sure to eyeing each one carefully before picking them up. Copper set them down again gently in the places they were before. Having been around the booth, the mute seamstress went back for the ones she liked. A navy fabric as it was a bit harsh to the touch, but was a good base to start with, one chocolate brown coloured band as it was soft but durable, and some tiny feathers. They were a cute little accent to add a pop of colour.
Having the materials that Copper needed, she sat down. Having made sure her space was clean, and not too spread out for the other contestants that could sit beside her if they wished, Copper began her work. The soft, [i]plink plunk[/i] of the needle entering and exiting the fabric was a relief: as the noise from the races was giving her a headache.
Time went by quickly it seemed, as Copper noticed Fennris was looking over her shoulder to see her work. Copper turned to him, showing her newly made hat to him, with a small smile.

"It looks amazing Copper! You should have seen the hats out there too! You would have outdone all of them with this one!" Fennris exclaimed, gently taking the hat from Copper.
'The hat fits perfectly on his head.' Copper thought to herself, which herself proud of before Fennris handed the hat back to Copper.
"Ready to go?" Fennris asked as Copper handed in her hat to be judged, earning Fennris an affirmative nod.
Waving goodbye to the dragon running the stand as a thank you, Copper flew beside Fennris before resting on his head - acting as a temporary hat.[/center]

"I present to you all, a most magnificent hat to wear to celebrate the Jamboree!"
[i]The hat is light green with Windsinger colors, and is reminiscent of a mage's hat. Several green-and-rust Windbound feathers are stuck into the dark green band of the brim on one side, and a tiny golden bell is attached to the tip.[/i]
"With this hat, you will look [i]très chic[/i]! Marvel at my work, for this is one-of-a-kind (though I will take commissions for reproductions)!"

Uh... I tried.. my tablet is not with me now, so paint will have to do LOL it's an ice cream hat :D with a seafoam-colored feather to suit the Windsinger's colors! Might add on some writing to this in the future, if I have time ^_^
