His golden eyes glint with mischief in the sunlight and his wings beat harder as he approaches the end of the wood. He can see the blue sky between the loosely-knit leaves and Proditor laughs softly to himself. The wind whips past him as he nears the cliff at the end of the forest, and as he soars through the final pair of trees, his book catches on a branch and the strap snaps in half. He stops short in mid-air as the reference plummets into the Chaotic Chasm, the place where light meets darkness, the separating boundary between the Sunbeam Ruins and the Tangled Wood. Proditor knows the legends, has overheard dragons whispering about the creatures that live within the chasm, the dragons that have gone in and never returned. He also knows that to enter the Chaotic Chasm is against the law and is considered one of greatest treachery any dragon commit. But it only takes half a heartbeat for Proditor to make his decision, and then he's diving past the cliff and into the chasm. It's a surreal experience, being in a place that is half light and half shadow. Some deep, primal instinct hits him like a brick, urging him back, and Proditor nearly halts from the intensity of it. But he pushes on, diving deeper and deeper until the world he knows is out of sight. It is several more moments until Proditor reaches the bottom of the chasm, cracked open as if some sort of earthquake caused the divide. The light from his hometown cast strange shadows over the jagged rocks in a pattern that sends his mind reeling.[/quote]

His mate, Shedim, helps to keep his head out of the clouds though, and reins Elwyn in when he gets ahead of himself and into possibly dangerous situations. Elwyn also has a lot of insecurity, unlike Shedim who is very sure of himself, and the two help to balance each other out. Some images that define him are stars, candles, and of course, gold. You don't [i]have[/i] to use any of those, I just thought they might be helpful! Shedim is not negative, per se, but he is a realist. He has seen the evil in this world and he cares deeply about his family, willing to do anything to protect them. But, what makes him different from Elwyn, is that he does not go out of his way to better the situation of strangers or society; he cares only about his family and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. Shedim is generally very eloquent and reserved, but he is terribly soft on Elwyn, and their interactions usually end with Shedim smiling, or even laughing outright. He is defined by images of antlers or horns, black roses with (especially with vines or thorns), and scythes. As mentioned before, you don't have to use those images, they're just ideas!
