Welcome to Kairos
Hello and welcome to Kairos, my first attempt at a Nuzlocke now that lair tabs have been introduced. This Nuzlocke will have rules taken from and inspired by both Karrikut's Partitioned Nuzlocke and Tar's Pinkerlocke.
Kairos will introduce a group of traveling merchants into an alternate dimension of my main clan's (Ravenswood's) forest, and it will detail their experiences within the forest. Between having to maneuver through a mysterious forest, having to build up their wares to make a life for themselves, having to figure out what happened to land them in this hellhole, making deals with demons, and trying to make it out of there alive, the dragons of Kairos should have quite a lot to share.
The Nuzlocke itself should hopefully pose itself to be entertaining for me to write as well as to hopefully expand upon my own lore for my main clan. With demons being popular inhabitants within the clan, and with their ability to pass through alternate dimensions (apparently), I hope to be able to get a feel for characters that are not just my Nuzlocke side-clan. I will try to write every day that I am able to continue this Nuzlocke, so the progressing storyline won't be dependent on just the days that I pull a material or trinket from Pinkerton's Plundered Pile.
But anyway, let's move onto the rules.

Pinkerlocke Rules
1. As every Nuzlocke goes, a death in the coliseum is an equivalent to a death in-lore.
2. Loot from the coliseum or gathering is irrelevant (as far as fate is determined).
3. There are no restrictions on familiars or apparel.
4. Nuzlocke activity coincides with Pinkerton's Plundered Pile.
5. Upon reaching level 25, dragons will be impervious to Nuzlocke death.

Mode: Medium - Challengers are chosen by RNG. The venue picked will coincide with a tier below the highest levelled dragon.
Materials and Trinkets
[item=jasper][item=bottled embers]
Materials - Lore will be written for the Nuzlocke. This may include personalities, descriptions, locations, interactions with other characters (not necessarily part of the Nuzlocke), or the overall plot.
Trinkets - When time is available, dragons may receive art. When time is unavailable, they will be receiving lore.
Rare Drops
[item=death seeker][item=bleak birdskull necklace][item=ambush]
Familiars - In the event that an egg is available to hatch, a d12 will be rolled. If 1-6 is rolled, nothing happens. If 7-12 is rolled, that egg may be hatched. In the event that an egg is unavailable, using the same d12 circumstances, a dragon may be breed changed if the funds are available.

Partitioned Rules
Partitioning - All food, treasure, etcetera belonging to Ravenswood will be kept separate from the travelling merchants. This will be done so through vaulting and keeping track of what the travelling dragons own via spreadsheet.
Dragons - All dragons obtained in this Nuzlocke, except through the means of nests, will be G1's. These may be obtained by buying eggs or receiving eggs as gifts. Exception: G1's may be bought from the AH if the dragon count falls below three.
Nesting - Dragons may be nested at any point, but a coin will be flipped with each hatchling. If the coin lands on heads, then that hatchling lives. If the coin lands on tails, then that hatchlings dies.
Food - Food must be obtained from the Coli. 3 points of the respective food type to prevent starvation among dragons. Gathering food does not count toward the Nuzlocke. As I do have Ravenswood to care for as well, the required food needed to prevent starvation will be vaulted and deducted from the spreadsheet to keep track.
Death - In the event of death, dragons will either be sold if there is interest, exalted, or be placed in the Hibernal Den due to attachment.
Resurrection - In the event that the necromancer successfully resurrects the dead, that dragon only has this one last chance at living. Dragons can only be resurrected one time.
Apparel - Must be purchased, obtained from the Coli, or gifted.
Genes - Primary genes may be placed on a dragon starting at level 10. Secondary genes may be placed on a dragon starting at level 15. Tertiary genes may be placed on a dragon starting at level 20.
Serendipity - In the event that there is a rare drop in the Coli (Egg, Eliminate, Gene), then a breed change may be purchased to be placed on a dragon if the funds are available.
Baldwin - Baldwin may be accessed by the alchemist every odd day in the Pinkerlocke in order to restock his wares.
Trading - In rare circumstances (such as an interaction with a Ravenswood dragon), certain items may be traded for in order to be better off for themselves. After all, these dragons are traders. A transaction will occur and the spreadsheet will be updated accordingly.

Halphas was summoned to Ravenswood on a fateful autumn night by two juvenile dragons who promptly fled the scene before he could fully manifest. After his metamorphosis, Halphas was discovered by the previous clan, though despite his warnings, they soon fell once the other beasts were summoned to the forest to feast upon the living. Upon scavenging the remains of the land the following day of the attack, Halphas found that there had been but one survivor, his mate Brandy, and he chose to rebuild the clan and start anew.
In Kairos, Halphas will often take the form of one of his all-seeing birds to converse with the travelling merchants. He may either partake in trade or offer up warnings for the days to come, though whether the merchants take into consideration his warnings is another story. On days of no trade and no important warnings, a glimpse of the demon's true self may be revealed in his playful banter or brief recollections on his past.[/columns]

Camille is Halphas' younger sister, but she came upon Ravenswood by her own freewill. She now acts as the clan's moody healer. Camille, not quite demon but not quite angel, is fairly neutral concerning her deals with the dragons; however, it's her mood that determines the overall outcome of the encounter. Oftentimes she's somewhere between that of a foul beast akin to Raum (excluding the possible death), to a dragon that quite frankly, just couldn't give a damn, or to a caring healer that would give her own life (certainly a metaphor not to be taken literally) for an injured dragon to be healthy once more. She also has a peculiar, almost insatiable desire for fire.
In Kairos, Camille's role portrays that of a wildcard. She may take the form of either crow or drake, and she may demand resources to be given for little or nothing in return (akin to Raum), she has the ability to perform transactions that are often used to give the dragons of Kairos medicinal supplies in exchange for something she may have a use for, or for certain lore circumstances, Camille may offer a lending paw in caring for one of the injured dragons.[/columns]

Valdis is not quite a demon, but she is very much on her way to becoming a rather powerful one. She is classified as one of the many beasts of Ravenswood that have yet to undergo metamorphosis. She appears cloaked in decay, though the beast is not quite ready for such a thing. Her main goal on Sornieth is to become a fully-fledged demon and then sacrifice herself in order to achieve Emperor status. However, she isn't able to run freely as Haamiah is one of the few dragons that have chosen to war with the beasts and to destroy them before their acts are completed. Though, both Valdis and Haamiah know that he's running out of time to catch her as both her and her mate are progressing smoothly, and the decaying of the forest is only helping them along.
In Kairos, Valdis is one of the merchants' most dangerous foes. She isn't much for trades or for trying to remain civilized in the presence of dragons. It's strike first and ask questions later, though for most, her vicious maw is the last thing that they see. On the occasion she may be inclined in sparing a life for the self-interest of herself, though it is not common. It is up to the merchants to outsmart the beast and escape her clutches.[/columns]

Haamiah is perhaps the one and only (confirmed) angel present within Ravenswood. He works primarily as an "executioner" that strives to ride the forest of "beasts" before they can become fully-fledged demons. Of these beasts, perhaps the most concerning is Valdis. Haamiah also appears to have an unreasonably hate for the lord of Ravenswood as well, though it is not reciprocated. The angel resides in the Greyfell Mountains but often frequents the forest in search of his next victim.
In Kairos, Haamiah may act as both a lifesaver and a being that disapproves of the merchants and their dealing with the demons of Ravenswood. When a trade goes south, the mood of a demon is unpredictable. He acts as the dragon who will save the hides of those who need it most. The merchants will often not be given the opportunity to trade with Haamiah as he believes in doing his duty without the need of being paid for it; however, even angels aren't completely without sin and occasionally the greed may rule over his morality.[/columns]

Raum is of the few unwelcome demons of Ravenswood, an abomination that shouldn't have undergone metamorphosis. Yet, he remains within the forest to roam and to destroy and to wait for guests to visit his domain. He lost his sight upon the completion of his metamorphosis and he is required an eye to allow him to see once more. While he was successful in finding that eye in Ravenswood, he sight falter in the Kairos equivalent. His primary goal is to destroy the forest in order to bring out the raw magical properties and he will destroy anything that tries to stop him. He is not a caring demon and he doesn't hide that fact. Raum claims to be able to see into the future and he insists on making deals that may or may not have benefit for the other trader.
In Kairos, Raum resumes his self-proclaimed duty of destroying the forest, but he has a few other agendas in mind as well. One of which is to strike a deal and reclaim his sight in the form of a new dragon. He is hardly ever beneficial during encounters and is often hostile and territorial if he is not trying to make a deal in the crossroads.[/columns]

Mammon was the first demon to join the clan besides Halphas, and he has a high standing among the others that reside there. He acts as the clan's mentor and has trained many of his clan members in the art of war. He has also helped train a great many to serve under the Lightweaver and has vanquished countless beasts that have tried to stop him from reaching his goal. Mammon, before both Halphas and himself were called from Hell, served as Halphas' mentor.
In Kairos, Mammon may make occasional appearances that may result in either trade or words of wisdom, something to evoke a "You can do it" or "Hang in there!" sort of vibe. A successful trade with the mentor will result in an enhancement in the Kairos dragon's training while his words are often nothing more than some uplifting quote before he steps into a horde of enemies, leaving the Kairos dragon alone once more. The demon tends to be beneficial once encountered in the forest, but on the occasion a deal may go south and lead to turmoil (a rather vigorous training session that may result in the death of those weak-willed).[/columns]

Caius is Ravenswood's mortician who is said to partake in shady dealings with the clan's necromancer. He is gruff and brooding and isn't much for words. The demon is one of the more recent additions of the sinful flock, but he's quite skilled at what he does, often earning nods of approval from the dragons despite his obvious questionable tendencies with his partnership with the necromancer.
In Kairos, Caius takes on a rather morbid persona in the things that he wants and desires. He often approves of the death of dragons in order to perhaps score their remains in return for coin or other treasures. However, his macabre approach can be both an unwelcome scavenger and a blessing. On one hand, a demon wanting the body of a dead dragon is typically immoral and questionable enough to tilt a few heads, but if that same dragon perished from an unknown source, for extra coin the demon may be willing to examine the remains and give a cause of death for the living dragons to mull over. This could help in times of disease or if they fear they are being preyed upon.[/columns]

Justin is a particularly modern dragon that prefers video games and WiFi and staying up past 3 in the morning playing Fortnite and eating nacho cheese Doritos. Donovan is a lowly demon that was unsuccessful in his attempt to fully possess the small dragon and is now stuck in the confines of Justin's mind as he spews angry half-sentences at the TV at unreasonable hours while Donovan is trying to sleep. Once in a blue moon however, Donovan is able to take over for just a bit and wreak havoc upon Ravenswood. However, he's more impish in nature than downright evil. He's akin to Camille in his love for fire, but there's not much a demon can do in the body of a hatchling.
In Kairos, there's a chance for either Justin or Donovan to appear to the merchants, though most often they'll have to converse with a very confused Justin rather than the slightly more disturbing Donovan. There's not much to this demon as he doesn't particularly have the ability to harm the Kairos dragons other than to perhaps strike some form of annoyance within them.[/columns]

Ilia is a newly-turned demon who rose in her ranks quickly and was soon granted the ability to grace the grounds of Sornieth. Here she was manifested into the forest of Ravenswood until Halphas recruited her for both her obvious distaste in the more brutal of demons and her own ferocious ability to battle. She now acts as the clan's war general and while she doesn't agree with the brutal ways of demons, she's certainly brutal in terms of the misfortunate, mortal dragons. Ilia trains potential clan members when needed, but she often finds herself battling solo as she trains others to serve under the Lightweaver.
In Kairos, Ilia serves much the same purpose as Mammon; however, she is often more harsh in her tactics. She will offer her services in exchange for goods, but she does not mention her intolerability for the weak. If a Kairos dragon proves unworthy in battle, she often takes it upon herself to end them quickly as to prevent them from suffering a worse death and to prevent them from injuring their comrades due to their own weakness.[/columns]

Mephistopheles acts as Ravenswood's necromancer. He often finds himself parading through Ravenswood market in search of visiting dragons that he can perhaps persuade into reviving one of their loved ones that had passed on... For the right price, of course. Most times there deals go south and he's the only party that profits, but what's it to him? He is said to trade with Caius the mortician but it's still unknown just as to what they may be trading with one another and why he would need it in the first place.
In Kairos, Mephistopheles acts as a mysterious figure who may offer to revive a fallen comrade. However, there's something sly and just a bit off about the dragon and it is up to the merchants to decide whether this transaction will be successful or if it will fall through. Their friend may be revived in exchange for something pricy; however, they may still remain dead in the end and the Kairos dragons will be out a pricy item. And, in any case, it often begs the question of just how "alive" that dragon will end up turning out.[/columns]

On days of no trade and no important warnings, a glimpse of the demon's true self may be revealed in his playful banter or brief recollections on his past.

She may take the form of either crow or drake, and she may demand resources to be given for little or nothing in return (akin to Raum), she has the ability to perform transactions that are often used to give the dragons of Kairos medicinal supplies in exchange for something she may have a use for, or for certain lore circumstances, Camille may offer a lending paw in caring for one of the injured dragons.

It is up to the merchants to outsmart the beast and escape her clutches.
Type: Benevolent
Encounter Rate: Medium
The merchants will often not be given the opportunity to trade with Haamiah as he believes in doing his duty without the need of being paid for it; however, even angels aren't completely without sin and occasionally the greed may rule over his morality.

Encounter Rate: High
He is hardly ever beneficial during encounters and is often hostile and territorial if he is not trying to make a deal in the crossroads.

Encounter Rate: Medium
The demon tends to be beneficial once encountered in the forest, but on the occasion a deal may go south and lead to turmoil (a rather vigorous training session that may result in the death of those weak-willed).

This could help in times of disease or if they fear they are being preyed upon.

He remembered that they had disturbed the birds before he had blacked out, falling into the dark as his tired paws hit the forest litter beneath him. He had been convinced that he wouldn't be waking up from that, but here he was, unharmed but bone-tired. Groaning, the dragon brought himself up to a sitting position, disregarding his bland appearance as he blinked blearily and glanced at the still sleeping forms around him. He couldn't place any of the three, they were...dull. Dull and very much unlike his travelling companions. In fact, that wasn't even all of them.
Araceli, Rhoslyn, Elowen, myself, Dulaman, Viola, Venice... There were seven of them, yet it was only these three strangers and himself. Who were they? Where was he? And then he heard the soft huff of a yawn as one of the mysterious forms brought itself back into existence. A mumble fell from the dragon's maw, piquing the male's curiosity. Was that..."Rhoslyn? Is that you?"
The female Nocturne blinked open her eyes once, twice, three times before settling upon the male and blinking them for a fourth time, opening them this time with a look of shock as she turned to the other dragon. "Jericho? What happened to you?" Rhoslyn stumbled up on her own awkward appendages, yelping at the sudden unfamiliarity of her own body. "What happened to us? And..." She glanced at the other two sleeping figures, one of which was slowly coming out of its own slumber," Where are the other three? I guess...I guess those two are -"
"Araceli and Elowen," the Garnet grumbled lowly, not putting any effort into rising up like the other two. Her body ached. "I was the last one of us through, the other three got separated from us by whatever had been chasing us. Something's with this forest. If that wasn't obvious with our current predicament." Araceli pointed with a careful claw at the male Nocturne's bag," Jericho, do you have any of yours wares? And you," she gestured toward Rhoslyn," what of your wares?" The Guardian stood then, removing her own bag from its familiar perch. Her plan had been to take careful stock of what they had before they were attacked, but after taking just a quick glance at her own wares, she knew the others would be the same. Nothing. They were going to be in trouble.
A quick shake of the female mimic's head revealed that their food supply was nonexistent, Araceli's charms were gone, and now he found that, after rifling through his bag with his unfamiliar paws, his own wares had disappeared in a puff of smoke. Which meant... A sick feeling rose in his throat, his head suddenly felt dizzy," I - Araceli," he murmured, an arched brow his only reply from the Guardian. "I-I. My," He dug around frantically in his obviously deserted bag, the thing that had kept both his wares and his possessions close to him," My pearl," he finally choked out," it's gone, too. Everything's gone."
A shuffle alerted the other three to the now waking form of the Tundra, previously a Spiral known as Elowen. "Good morn - Great Earthshaker, where am I? And who are you three?" The furred dragon was suddenly on high alert, jumping to her paws and grabbing her bag of items, taking a few, cautious steps back as if they were there to rob her of what little she had left. But, rather than her imagined scenario, reality was the red Guardian snorting while the other two looked on in bewilderment - one looking a bit more disconcerted than the other. It was in that moment that she realized that they too were merchants, the ones that she had been travelling with, but they were just...different. And taking a quick look at herself, she realized the same thing as well. "What -"
"What happened? We don't know, Elowen. We ran to this forest, passed out, and woke up like this. And before you ask, your bag is empty, too." Araceli snapped, grumbling something beneath her breath as she snaked her head to look at Jericho, a softness crawling back into her tone," Everything from our bags are gone, I was going to assume that your pearl would be, too. And seeing how it is... Well, it couldn't have just walked off. It's all gone, and while we may or may not be getting our food back, surely we can find a pearl. It couldn't have gotten too far." Forcing a smile upon her features, she brought herself to all fours. "Well, we have lots of questions, I know, but we should probably try to figure this place out and restock our wares. Or, at least our food supply. Gods know we're not going to last long out here if we let ourselves starve."
Jericho flinched at the Guardian's dull tone with Elowen, but felt just a little better when she had turned her attention to him. It couldn't have gotten far, no. Perhaps...It had just gotten loose and had rolled away during his fall. Yes, that was it. Maybe he could find it if," I'm going to look for materials to transmute. Maybe my pearl just rolled away," He gave a nervous laugh before pulling himself to all fours, awkward and somewhat gangly, before dispatching himself from the rest of the group. Behind him he could Elowen's confused murmurs and Rhoslyn's pawsteps heading in the opposite direction, perhaps going off to forage. Araceli though, it appeared that she was just watching the other three, perhaps trying to make sense of things. What had happened to them?
