Flight Lore
Time Flight Origins
Noctella entered the training grounds, determined to be a powerful asset to the Lightweaver's army. She quickly destroyed every monster that stood in her path. It was unusual for a skydancer to be so determined to be a soldier. Most Skydancers her age would train to become a scout for their clan. But Noctella was special. She was gifted with sharp claws, agile feet, and a sharp mind. It was only a couple hours of training before she could already enter the Blooming Grove. When she first stepped foot into the enchantingly beautiful grove, all of the monsters could sense her power and flee. All except one. The Flowering Pohip stood its ground and attacked. However, even this giant beast couldn't defeat Noctella. When she returned home from training, she was showered with praise by her clanmates for her excellent training.

That was the day Noctella started her training. Now, even the mechanical mechanisms of the Golem Workshop get busted up in combat by Noctella. She had reached the maximum level of training. She was ready to be exalted.

She left her clan with the great amount of treasure she had gathered for herself. She entered The Beacon of the Radiant Eye. It was so different from The Hewn City she had grown up in. She was gifted new and powerful secret light battle stones that only exalted dragons could use. Very few clans in Sornieth knew about these powerful relics. This combined with her natural battle skills quickly made her one of the best soldiers of the Sunbeam Ruins. The Lightweaver placed her in the frontlines of the battlefield, along with the rest of her top soldiers that were also exalted at the maximum level.

Rumors had spread about the Lightweaver’s Emperor, and the Lightweaver gave Noctella the task of learning more about various sightings of the emperor, in the hopes that it could be tracked down and eliminated.

She asked various civilians of the Sunbeam Ruins about the case, and although she didn’t find much information about it, she was given a lot of compliments about her exceptional deeds in the war for dominance, to the point where they started considering her a deity! She was of course quite surprised, but also flattered and encouraged! She turned to a key witness, a Pearlcatcher called Signum. He refused to speak of the incident, but instead mentioned a mysterious scroll he had, and spoke a lot about how Noctella should have it due to her significant power. He buttered her up and piqued her curiosity enough to the point where she decided to buy the scroll for a large sum of treasure.

She got distracted away from the case as she started reading the scroll. She learned about the origins of the forbidden elements and started frequently practicing the art of time magic. After three days of practicing, she gained the ability to see the past, but not the future. She remembered the case about the emperor finally and decided to use her newfound abilities to see the moments when Signum learned about the case. However, there were none. The note she received about witnesses for the case was in fact not written by the Lightweaver, but by Signum. As she peered farther into his past, she learned that he was in fact shade-touched! The shade had persuaded him into stealing the time scroll and giving it to Noctella. She was greatly surprised, but still somehow continued to practice time magic.

One day, a servant of the Lightweaver walked in on Noctella practicing time magic intending to tell her that it’s time to go on the battlefield again. The servant was shocked and immediately rushed over to the Lightweaver to tell her what had happened. The servant had run away too fast for Noctella to explain herself.

Noctella fled far, trying to avoid the Lightweaver, who she found out had wanted her executed for betraying her trust. She found a quiet library where she could continue reading while being supposedly safe from the Lightweaver’s servants. She noticed that ever since opening the scroll, she had been getting growth spurts, to the point where she was nearly the size of a Mirror dragon! She also noticed that her feathers had started falling off gradually. She was alarmed by this, but there was no time to look into it further, as she needed to find another hiding place before the servants tracked her down.

She searched all over the Sunbeam Ruins for a safe hiding place, but she was found and cornered by guards. For moments, she thought it was the end for her when she remembered a spell she read on the last page of the scroll. It was incredibly difficult to perform, and only those worthy of the time element could perform it. If she was unlucky, it could even spread every single one of her atoms far across Sornieth, and even in space and time, never to be seen again. But she had to try.

She closed her eyes, and channeled her magic, hoping it would work. By some miracle, she succeeded. She had opened up a warp hole to another dimension and left through it to evade the guards. They attempted to follow her in, but as soon as she entered, the portal teleported somewhere else in the Sunbeam Ruins. And thus, the first portal to the time realm was opened.

She opened her eyes, in a completely different place with a completely different appearance. Before entering the portal, she had already lost most of her feathers, and she had even grown larger than a mirror dragon! But after entering the portal, her eyes had turned white. The last change to her body was the official transfer from a light dragon to a time dragon. She wandered the Hourglass Dunes until reaching a steampunk-like civilization. “Where am I?” she asked a civilian. “You’re in The Clockwork City, a subregion of the Parallel Present.” the dragon replied. She wandered throughout the city, with water lightly dropping on her wings every so often. Then, she started noticing many dragons whispering about her.

“Could she be worthy?” A dragon whispered. “She sure looks like one.” Another dragon replied back. After much consideration, the town chose her to be the new deity of the Parallel Present. “What?! Deity? Me? I just got here!” She frantically replied to the crowds of dragons. “We haven’t had a Deity in what feels like millennia! Just look at you! You must be the one!” The townsfolk had decided. Months passed. She gave up her name and built a tower for herself. She is now simply known as The Timebender. By now, she was fully accustomed to the way of the time flight. She summoned another gateway between the Parallel Present and Sornieth, this time ending up in The Starfall Isles. She had gotten powerful time magic, and can now even see into other timelines!

To this day, she relentlessly researches and studies time and alternate universes in her tower. Recently, she has even started to participate in the war over Dominance!

Sorry that the only character dialogue is at the end, hopefully, the story is how you would've wanted it. Also, I might make some updated versions of old lore I wrote in case I get any new ideas that I'd like to incorporate. If there is any more lore that you need to be added, then don't be afraid to request it to me! Writing lore is a really fun hobby for me and it isn't a nuisance for me in any way. 7 dragons in my lair would like to join the time flight :) One is over 5 years old, and I named her Memoria at birth. She is the 15th child of my custom progenitor!
