With a loud shrieking, which made both dragons cover their ears, the hatchling fell on the floor with a loud thud.
It seized a couple of time before stopping and let out a cloud of thick black smoke. Technitium let out a frustrated yowl, running over the AI, ready to get it open to check out what was supposed to be the problem this time.
With her hands still on her ears Arwen looked at the cyborg, who was dragging 3MP3R0R onto her table, and took a few steps towards the both of them, still insecure about if she could trust it to not make anymore ear piercing sounds.
"It broke down again?" She asked.
The Mirror let out a grunt and pulled her goggles down, then nodded slightly.
"Of course it broke down again!" she answered, lining her tools on the table right next to the android, who was laying there.
"It's the third time this week" the fae noted, staring at the mirror taking the screwdriver and starting to unscrew the bolts, covering her mouth and nose as more smoke came out.
"Yeah, and it won't be the last either" she murmured through gritted teeth. Once she was finished with the bolts Technetium opened a little slot revealing the tangled mess of circuits and different materials which the AI was made out of.
Not the best to be honest, they tried to explain to Neptune that, yes, the better the material the better the android, but the Ridgeback had been so reluctant in giving up his precious so they had to settle with all that rubbish they had found here and there. And of course, rubbish for rubbish, the AI wouldn't really last for long.
A foul smell immediately hit the two dragons' noses as Technetium stared at the inside of 3MP3ROR before letting out a growl. "It's burnt!" she yelled ripping out some unknown melted components and throwing them on the enclosure floor. "Everything's burnt!".
All the circuits were covered by some kind of thick plasticky substance which was oozing from both side of the android. Some of the wires were completely torn up and smelled like burnt rubber, letting out sparks from time to time.
"Arwen, for Stormcatcher's sake come and take a look this mess!" the cyborg yelled at her fae companion.
Arwen quickly got closer and cringed at the sight. That was the last thing they needed.
"Do you see that? That will take months to be fixed!" Technetium yelled in frustration. "Neptune will have to know about this. Plaguebringer damn him and his faulty materials!"
"But can you fix it?" Arwen asked, concern showing in her voice.
Technetium nodded angrily pacing around the room. "Yeah, I can fix it, but this will take us weeks off schedule! We were so close to testing its consciousness!".
Arwen stared at the android for a few moments. Some would have said that trying to play Deity was crazy, that creating by a synthetic emperor TLoMR would be putting the entirety of Sornieth at risk. But it was all for the sake of peace and science. There was no way they were going to stop now.
Project 3MP3R0R was too important to be let go.
‘EMPEROR' or 3MP3R0R was created by Technetium with help from Arwen in an effort to better understand how Emperors work. This is due to rising concerns inspired by Raising a Family. What can be done to better halt their rampages without resorting to violent termination? The Progens know about the project, as does Ceres, Neptune (somewhat), Thetis and Brea.
