Welp... I'm in a bind for where to post this... bc it's a challenge/quest, but it's art... so, mods- if I posted wrong, please let me know! ^_^;;
So, without further ado, the challenge and my current progress:
Time per drawing: 1 minute
Goals:
-Increase efficiency (speed)
-Increase line accuracy (less sketchy nature)
-Improve hand-eye coordination
-Improve awareness of anatomy
Calculating:
-Every day I will post what I consider to be my best 1-minute gesture drawing
-Every week I will poll the watchers to see what they consider my best of the week
-I will compare every 30th's best and worst to the 1st's best- to see if I have improved over a 30 day time span. February will be the odd one out (as always).
For fun:
-At least once a week I will spend 45 minutes to 'finish' a gesture drawing from sketch to colors & shading - and record the full 45 minutes (for my review only, I ain't posting it anywhere! DX)
-Why 13? Bc 13 is my lucky number ^_^;; Also roughly makes for 15min a day if you include the seconds in between each reference
-Why 1-minute each? Bc I'm trying to get rid of my flaw of trying to control every aspect of my art, and instead, just try and get it to flow. I spend hours making sure my sketches are great anatomy-wise, but then I lose all motivation for coloring/shading... so if I can get the sketch to come easily, and spend less time on it, then I won't feel so bad when I transition into a 1-layer painting style and get rid of it anyway.
-Are you only going to do humans? Nah, just starting with them bc I found an epic website that swaps the references for me, on the timer of my choice. As the website creator is a group of stock photographers- they only have human references for me to use. At least one week out of every month I'll do something other than human gestures- using the same species/genus for the full week just so that I can see whether or not I improve ^_^
Polling Pinglist
-Pinged at the end of each week to decide the best gesture drawing
Nobody here
All the things Pinglist
-Pinged every time I upload a new 'best'. I might not upload everyday, even if I draw every day- so some days there might be three new 'bests' - I will include the date for every one for your reference (and mine).

Also, please join the pinglist for weekly polls! I want your comments and critiques just as much as I want to see you improve alongside me!-Why 13?
