House and Home
Much of the clan had gathered in the clearing outside their home.
Last night’s storm has long since passed, and Edan’s early morning efforts to clean all the branches and debris that had littered the ground overnight had turned into almost everyone pitching in to clean up and further develop the space.
Behind their “main” home, and right next to the somewhat disgruntled roc’s nest, they’d begun to lay out the groundwork for a second, larger building. Clade, Espen, Rorin, and Edan himself had been working together to roll logs in place while Saerun and Ciron secured them.
Edan had called Veldr up out of the cellar to help as well, and the pearlcatcher had eagerly accepted his request to start tilling the soil beside his house to prepare for planting crops.
It had become quite obvious Veldr had no idea what he was doing, but Angie decided to come out and help. Said ‘help’ involved shouting orders and explanations at the baffled pearlcatcher while sitting atop a blanket she dragged outside.
Hazel and Marshall, who had both sneaked in use of their scrolls last night, were currently recovering while everyone else worked. Edan was still a bit annoyed with them both doing so - particularly at the same time, but after seeing how sore and uncomfortable the two looked, he figured there wasn’t much point in chastising them. Besides, someone needed to look after Clara - it would be far too easy for a hatchling to get into trouble while everyone else was working.
The mirror couldn’t help but marvel about how quickly things were coming together, especially compared to how long it took for him to just build an addition on. But then again, how surprised could he be? There were, what? A dozen of them, now? Of course it would be easier.
Still hard to wrap his head around, though.
The framework for the new building was almost done by mid-afternoon. It was about then that he heard Ila calling out excitedly.
“Edan! Edan!” she shouted, touching down and rushing toward him. “I got to see - ” she paused, taking a moment to look around her. “Oh wow, look at all this.”
“Ila, what di - ”
“I got to watch the eggs hatch!” Ila interrupted, at once completely focused on him again. “I just went over to meet Prazi and instead I got to see it happen! They’re so
beautiful, Edan! Three little pearlcatchers and an imperial!”
“Good gods,
four of them?” Edan breathed. “Well, glad it wasn’t too many imperials…”
“What? Well,” Ila paused, then leaned in a bit closer and continued, her voice much quieter. “There were five eggs. Solveig is still waiting for the last one to hatch, and Prazien’s been telling them it was still a good nest…”
“Uh, yeah,” Edan frowned. “The last one likely didn’t make it. Four is a good hatch, though. Healthy numbers.”
“I… I suppose so,” Ila replied, rubbing her arm. “Solveig wanted me to let you know they probably won’t come out for a few days at least, they’re gonna be figuring out the whole “dad” thing, you know.”
“Would’ve assumed that, yeah,” Edan chuckled, then shook his head. “Gods… four of them. We should probably see about getting some food packed up to take over for ‘em in a few days.”
“That’s a great idea!” Ila clapped her hands together. “We should go together so you can meet everyone! Maybe you can show me how to bake with the stuff we got before then?”
“I think we’ll have time…” Edan paused. “Maybe today. We should all be taking a break soon anyway.”
He trotted off toward the soon-to-be garden, and nodded to Veldr.
“Alright, kid. Back down into the cellar now, we’ll send food your way shortly.”
Veldr immediately dropped his hoe and hurried to the cellar door.
Angie turned to give Edan a baffled and slightly disgusted look.
“Why… do you keep a dragon in your cellar?”
“Uh, I’ll tell you a bit later,” Edan sighed. He turned and cleared his throat, shouting out to the rest of the group.
“Alright, everyone inside! We’re getting lunch!”
Ahh, the kids are here.
FINALLY.

I would like to apologize for the double ping you all experienced! It won't happen again, but was necessary to make things much more manageable for me in the future!
I also want to announce that all the currently mentioned nuzlocke dragons now have bios with info! As some things just can't be fit into the plot without it being shoehorned, it's the perfect place to go if you want to learn a bit more about a character!
That being said, due to the nature of this nuzlocke, some might contain mild spoilers.
For example, if you want to be properly introduced to Sol's kids about an entry from now, you might want to avoid that bio, and Prazien's.
Nonetheless:
