Introduction...

Welcome to my lore thread! Here, you may interact with my dragons through the use of RP! Simply pick a location in my lair or a dragon you'd like to interact with/explore, and I shall do my best to reply!

I will mostly be posting short stories here, along with updates on my dragon's bios. If there's a particular dragon you'd like a story of, don't be shy and let me know! Unless you're talking about Muffin. I refuse to write stories for that walking disaster. ~~I'm kidding, I love her.~~

The Aequitas Clan

If you want to find the Aequitas Clan, you're in a bit of a sore spot. The clan may or may not exist in a place that may or may not not exist, and by that, I mean the Runic Mountain Range.

See, anyone who's gone looking for this Range hasn't found it. And anyone who's found it, wasn't looking for it. Not to mention, anyone who's rumoured to have found it, couldn't have found it, because, well, how're you to prove that you did find it if you never came back in the first place?

In any case, most Arcanites would agree that the Range existed. But if you knew about it, you wouldn't wound up there unless you had a death wish to not end up there. Basically, if you wanted to go there, you wouldn't be able to find it. And if that was the last place you wanted to go... well, hello there!

Hello, there! Welcome to the Runic Mountain Range, where you're now trapped and so are we! If you're thinking about escape, don't! Because anyone who's escaped wasn't looking to escape, and anyone who wants to escape, can't escape! This place is enchanted by a magical spell called the Droste Maze. The moment you find an exit, it's also an entrance! If you run towards the horizon, you'll find yourself running in circles. And if you fly up, at some point you'll be magically flipped over and find yourself hurtling towards the ground.

There's only one clan of dragons that can help you here. But the problem is, they might help you, if they're interested, and more likely, they might not. They're not particularly interested in your survival. To be honest, they might benefit more from your funeral. But when you're stuck in a hostile mountain range and your only beacon of hope is a clan of dragons with breathtaking mental issues... well, you might actually be better off alone.

The Clan Leaders

The Aequitas Clan is ruled by four leaders - Demeter, Kraken, Hathor, and Ma'at. Each leader is directly responsible for one aspect of clan life, and they work together to solve inter-clan issues.

"But Myth," you might say, "Aren't authoritative groups usually odd-numbered? What do they do when they end up evenly divided on two sides of an issue? Is there a fifth dragon who would help break this tie?"

Nope, there isn't. We fight to the death on such occasions. Luckily, Kraken never shows up to said meetings, so it's not like we're ever evenly divided anyway.

Or maybe there is a fifth leader, hidden in the shadows, manipulating this clan from behind the scenes, carefully calculating every step that must be taken in order to destroy the world, starting from the Runic Mountain Range...

But that's silly. That would require a crazy dragon, and we have no crazy dragons here.

First Leader: Demeter ~ Domestic Division

One of the four clan leaders, Demeter is in charge of solving and attending to the domestic issues within the clan. Now, this might sound like an easy job, but here that means she's basically tasked to keep a highly ~~destructive~~ innovative clan with a penchant for poking just about everything under control. Such stress should not be placed on anybody, much less on a tiny Fae's body, but Demeter has managed. Now, equipped with experience and enough backbone to slap sense into the nearest Imperial (usually Veles), she is the undisputed and unofficial highest authority in the clan.

Not that this stops said clan from blowing up the lair, of course. Some things authority can't fix.

Second Leader: Kraken ~ Finance Division

After screwing up military training, angering a group of hatchlings, and almost starting a war, Kraken was reassigned by Demeter to be in charge of the clan's finances, which means the clan is eternally broke. Impressed by her ability to make even the greatest foe stand down, Demeter assigned her to be in charge of diplomatic relationships to prevent further wars.

This mostly just means Hathor marches around the Runic Mountain Range with a bazooka and threatens to nuke any Beastclans that dare stir up trouble. But hey, it's the thought that counts. Probably.

Veles

In an attempt to make up for burning something important of former military leader Pachetona's, Veles created the Scales. This was a bad idea, because it meant he had to be a member of it, and Veles... he can fight. Kind of. Okay, well, not really. But it's the thought that counts, okay? Just don't trust this guy to hold the front lines. Or fight Marens in the Kelp Beds. He won't do it.

Netjeri

The first dragon to go, "Hey, maybe we should learn Eliminate so we can actually kill things." For that, she gets a cookie! Netjeri's tragic past as a former exalt prevents her from talking much with her clanmates, but she's the one you go to for protection. Mostly because she can actually provide it.

Venti

Here because he got on Ma'at's bad side and she wanted him to die in combat, Ma'at was disappointed when she found out that Venti can, in fact, fight. But that's not it! He's a mage! There are so many other things he can do, like heal, and use spells instead of just punching things. So here he stays. For now.

Kavenia

The assassin who also got on the team because she got on Ma'at's bad side, Kavenia is as mysterious as she is heartless about killing. With a penchant to randomly kill the friend sitting next to you and the one behind you as well, most dragons in the lair are glad to see her vent her murderous energy on the Beastclans instead of them.

Nephthys

She's not here because she wants to be. She's here because she's a healer and as much as Venti tries, the Aequitians really do things that redefine stupidity and end up being too much of a workload for the poor Wind Mage. That's where Neph comes in with her shadow magic. She'll terrify you so much, you'll never want to end up in the medical ward again. Better to just bleed out.

Kerendia ~ The Couturier (aka Clothes Maker)

The mute Skydancer in charge of weaving and making all the fancy apparel you see in the lair... ~~he may or may not actually be a god.~~ (Who gave him all this art? I'm pretty sure his bio is worth more than both my progens, and this guy was a former exalt.)

Kayania ~ The Hostess

The enthusiastic Nocturne with an obsession for cards and dice, she is the hostess at the Karma Cafe, ready to entertain you with a game ~~and consequently make you a lot poorer than you were two minutes ago~~. For some reason, she, Kerendia and Kavenia seem to have a history together... not that Kayania is aware of it, but she does find Kavenia awfully familiar. Her favourite tea is mint tea.

Harmony ~ Researcher, Damage Control

Part of the clan's research team and one of the actually responsible and reliable researchers, this Fae also happens to be the one who came up with the great idea to get Vanya to summon the Shade Sprite. Like Vanya, she is now in hiding from the dreaded Sprite. For some reason, though, now she's wondering if she's hiding in the right place.

Vanya ~ Researcher, Absolute Disaster

After accidentally summoning part of the Shade (a Shade Sprite, according to scientific terms no one cares about), he is now hiding in the Runic Mountain Range in case said Sprite comes for him. Responsible for 10% of the explosions in the clan lair, some dragons would really like to whack him over the head with a stick.

Erigone ~ Clan Guard, That Shady Dragon

Mate to Hathor, father of Arete and Haukin, he is responsible for the clan's defences and works under Pachetonas and Demeter. He says he was born in the Observatory. He has Plague eyes. He says he has no powers. He can neutralise other dragons' magicks. He says he's not the Shade Sprite...

Universa ~ Oracle, That Shadier Dragon

The clan oracle and fortune teller known for creeping the scales off other dragons. Don't ask her for your fortune. Ask her for your misfortune. She has the ability to see the bad stuff, not the good stuff. For some reason, Universa seems to know the inner workings of the Runic Mountain Range. No idea why. It's not like she created the thing, you know?

Muffin ~ Alchemist, Research Team, The Reason Why Damage Control Exists

The alchemist of the clan, aka the explosion-savvy Noc no one invited. She will transmute everything for a price, said price normally being a chance to transmute you. There are many dangerous dragons in the lair. This is one of them.

Astraea ~ Clan Diplomat (sort of)

A Nocturne native to the Runic Mountain Range, she doesn't remember anything. At all. Including why she's in this clan in the first place. In any case, she works under Hathor in the Diplomatic Division to maintain a friendly relationship with Myrtle, whenever she can remember that's what she's actually supposed to do.

The Lair

The Runic Mountain Range is a dangerous place to live. The Aequitas Clan lives within one of the tallest peaks, with tunnels that ascend and descend to different lairs. This post contains the places in and around the lair, which dragons you can find there, and where you should avoid in case of death.

Warning: you should probably just avoid all of them.

Beyond the Lair

{ The Boundary }

The Runic Mountain Range presumably has a boundary, or a place where it ends. It's said that this is where the Droste Maze spell is cast, and by destroying the statues imbued with aforementioned spell, you can shatter the Droste Maze spell. However, nobody's found this place yet, and it probably doesn't exist... or does it?

{ The Forest }

The majority of the Runic Mountain Range is covered in a forest similar to the Star Wood Strand. Strange entities lurk here, and there are rumours of a giant magical maze that is located beneath said forest. Enter at your own risk.

{ Myrtle's Garden }

A vast garden containing most of the edibles that can be found in the Runic Mountain Range, Myrtle's garden is a target for the courageously hungry. However, beware. A stolen apple will likely result in a crushed skull, or being turned into potato salad. You decide.

The Lair ~ Middle Level

The regular entrance and exits of the lair, this is where visitors usually find themselves. Guards are usually posted here (not that they do their jobs) and the military division has control over the place. It's sort of a middle ground between the Bottom and Upper levels.

{ The Stadium }

The arena where the members of the Scales train, also Ma'at's jurisdiction. Researchers also test their spells out here, since it's been magically enchanted to a point where not even a nuclear blast can do more damage than a drifting feather. You are advised to visit this place in full armour.

{ The Infirmary }

The place where dragons too stupid to keep themselves in one piece end up in. There is a tiny herb garden here, reluctantly tended to by Nephthys. Neither of the clan's official healers are thrilled to be working here, so most dragons simply stay away and hope they don't die of some fatal disease.

{ The Kitchen }

The communal kitchen, where poor souls who cannot cook are subject to whatever the chef on duty has whipped up. Thankfully, Moonfeather and Kavleyn are both capable of producing edibles. Whether or not you should eat them is another matter altogether.

The Lair ~ Bottom Level

The residency of all the dragons in the lair, this is where all the dens and storage rooms are located. The library also has a place here, in a spot perfect for storing books. This is the most well-defended part of the lair.

{ The Dens }

The personal quarters of each dragon, this section of the mountain is riddled with caves of varying sizes. Depending on who you live next to, you may or may not survive to eat breakfast. Choose your neighbours wisely.

{ The Library }

A place to read and hide, since Valenya will protect anyone within the vicinity of her books, whether said dragon really deserves protection or not. There is a secret archive within the library that holds some documents certain clan members would love to get their claws on. Unbeknownst to most, the library is also a prison. Thanks to Valenya's powers, more than a few dragons are now trapped as mere entertainment within the pages of a novel.

{ The Theatre }

Just a recreation room that Seraphina took charge of, dragons now come here to relax. There's a stage and plenty of comfy throw pillows for the weary Aequitians to rest their wings after a hard day of slaughtering innocent Beastclans. Clan meetings are also held here, as well as parties.

{ The Hatchery }

The place where hatchlings are taken care of and taught the art of blowing things up. Hatchling guarding duty is less guarding and more trying to stop said hatchlings from making the lair go up in a mushroom cloud. You are not advised to come here, lest they use you as their newest test subject.

{ The Hoard and Vault }

The place where the clan's items are stored, the Hoard is entirely subjected to Kraken's whims, which is another reason the clan can never find anything. Fortunately, the Vault is under lock and key.
