During this peaceful time of the dragons no one was aware that dragon kind could both accidentally and intentionally awake a new threat within their world. The behavior of fire dragons was fierce and dragons of this faction were rather sensitive about their boarder lines and any unwanted visitors were quickly fought off. Many dragons couldn't stand other members of other factions and eye color of a dragon often marked and chained them into the faction that they were born in. Fire dragons tried not to follow the traditional path of this theme, however they too sometimes threw hurtful words about one other's origins to another element faction. During this time beast clans were seen as land dwellers that were mostly ignored as long as they didn't have intentions with messing with dragon kind. When the information about on-going war between beast clan and dragons eventually came it was like a lightning strike form the clear sky. Not everyone were aware of the reasons why and the information reached some places faster than the other. Fire faction was one of the mid-hand way in the information sharing pool and even then some of the clans were unsure and not interested on sharing this information forward to other clans living right next door. Some travelers may have tried to warn unaware fire clans about the new war at the door, however these travelers were quickly claimed to be either mad or that beast clan had a definite death wish. Eventually thought the information did reach entirety of the fire flight and mostly in unwanted and ways that could have been avoided. Beast clans attacked mainly on the easiest and weakest dragons first; eggs and hatchlings. Many dragoness' nests were attacked and completely destroyed leaving mourning and weeping mothers as the murderers went trough the lava fields. Fire clans became even more aggressive towards beast clans and despite not many beast clans living in The Ashfall Waste but all dragons agreed that they wouldn't want them to come and stay either, however much smaller enemies were much harder to find. Despite the war going on many fire clans were still unable to exactly work together to fend off their common enemy. Many beast clan's attacks were made during dragon's territorial disputes when most of the clan had their attention elsewhere. When fights with other dragons ended this mostly ended up tearing other clan members against each other at claiming who might be at fault of their next generation's deaths. The most violent and hostile clans were imminently broken apart or even died at fighting each other. While some clans were able to stand on their own feet with great leaders there were most that started crumbling apart from the lack of mental support towards their members. Females stopped breeding and relationships were broken by either the fear and sadness or the paranoia towards others. [columns]Within the matter of years fire flight was devastated. Not only emotionally but their prides as well were tainted by blood of other dragons and dust of old traditions. They let their enemy get trough their vision while they were too interested to harm one another because of competition that during the attention of war tainted even cloudier. Something had to be done... Then stepped in a brotherhood of justice. They were a reasonable group of dragons that came from one family line. They stood in front of their fallen brothers and sisters and told them to do opposite from what they had been doing for so long. With time the stubbornness returned and filled fire dragons' hearts and will of not giving up sparked a new burn of survival. Their element was not going to be destroyed so easily! For what old clans was left of and those who were now bare bones and strangers bonded together with the brotherhood to one massive clan. From this clan brotherhood became very strong and within matter of weeks beast clans outposts were found and destroyed. Fire dragons refused to take any slaves or captives so they left no one alive either. It was war after all and beast clan had been the one that according to fire dragons started it all. The hatred towards beast clans override the original hate that came from having personal territories and now was purely directed on one source. The beast clan. Everyone became quickly happy about brotherhood's presence. Even those who were not addicted with destruction of beast clan. From the outside it appeared very comfortable place to be in but those who were not accepted into the brotherhood it was rather quick to realize what was really going on behind the sidelines. The first and fore most only healthy dragons were let in of any species as long as they were born within fire flight and had orange eyes. Secondary only fertile females were allowed to participate within the activities of brotherhood and breed with the other members of brotherhood. Breeding with anything one who wasn't from the brotherhood was considered sinful and against The Old Gods that they worshiped. Anyone who was believed to breed outside brotherhood were to become tainted and their hatchlings would be weak and unprotected by Gods of Life and Nature. The second leads right from the first one into the fact that anyone who knew someone from the brotherhood, mostly the ones who were considered strangers and loners, suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth. No one knew were and no one knew how, however those who seemed to have some sort of knowledge about it were quickly silenced in more ways than just paying them to keep their mouth shut. This was not realized mostly due to brotherhood being able to hid it so well and the reasons often were believed to be at fault of plague dragons. [nextcol] [/columns] From outsiders' view the brotherhood didn't only look intimidating but also powerful and almost scary. From what first seemed like a great ideal turned into a crouching flame that seemed to be much darker and sinister than what had been first believed. As the years went by some fire dragons purposely distanced themselves and joined other clans or even created new clans to avoid being targeted by the members from brotherhood. The safety in numbers, however didn't guarantee the trust and protection from other dragons. Brotherhood's assassins turned out to be more skilled than just that and some dragons rather fled to secure their own survival than offer it in exchange of others. Nothing seemed to be safe anymore, however fire dragons refused to entirely leave their beloved home and leave it entirely up for brotherhood to rule over. Some dragons fled to more rural areas where they were allowed to be alone or forced their own hand to become alliances forced with brotherhood themselves in exchange of their own survival. Those who fled to rural areas were unlikely to be hunted down as brotherhood mainly stood on the top of The Great Furnace and occasionally patrolled open area of Molten Scar. This lead many dragons to flee from open areas to more disclosed areas of Blacksand Annex and mountainside areas of Emberglow Hearth. At the near end of Emberglow Hearth, near the border of water flight's realm lived a group of dragons. The place were originally created as safezone for travelers and disclosed any and all brotherhood activity as much as possible. This made the area the most safest place thought by fire dragons, however the spot was also very beloved by beast clan and their outposts. There were often battles between one another so the safezone had to ban any creation of nests within the area of purpose raising children to avoid as many fights and minimize the possibilities of attacks. Turned out even if dragons did top nesting within the area beast clans would begin attack in large groups at alone dragons and lure them into the traps to slaughter them. There seemed to be no end to this until beast clan were fully able to push away from the safezone and its nearby locations. Ever after the spot became a populated spot within its region but there was one problem; it was not ruled by a clan. This meant that any clan except brotherhood that was too busy at sitting on their volcano throne wanted to have a ruler of this safezone. There was once again a threat of hatred and competition stirring in the air but since fighting inside safezone was banned for a reason dragons had to compete in other ways to gain others' support. Some dragon carried treasures as much as they could carry to show their health being and trying to win the price of being able to feed anyone and bring necessary items and materials to build safezone even stronger to prevent future attacks. Some dragons showed off their talents and skill in numerous ways from flying competitions to running and even weight lifting. A group of unaffiliated dragons, strangers, would be put together to team up against other teams. Only smaller clans were allowed to participate within the contest to prevent overpowering and personal gain with tampering with results. These teams were then put trough a series of tests to determine their strength, knowledge, teamwork and loyalty. The last subject was heavily questioned and argued about, however in the end everyone agreed that even if they didn't like it loyalty was still important trait that many clans had been lacking ever since the war against beast clan had begun. To win this game a group of four dragons teamed together. They were completely strangers to one another, however something had brought them together that was unknown to others. They seemed almost out of place and very unfitting together, however it was not by dangerous or disturbing way so to speak. They seemed.... rather odd to say the least. Together this rather odd group participated to take on the contest and other teams of various species. Despite having a team mainly build of same species they turned out doing surprisingly great. Their speed and agility turned around to their strong points in the long run despite rather troublesome start with the strength category. When the end of the contest drew near and trustworthy and loyalty challenge was to begin a clan of water dragon bandits attacked the contestants during their last quest. Since water flight was elementally more stronger towards fire flight they didn't hesitate to use their water element to over power fierce some fire dragons. When many became dangerous to death and drowning the stranger group stood up for action. While many other might not have come to think at it at first they helped other contest participants to come up with a plan and together they defeated bandits. Contest continued and as the finish line drew near tired and worn out contestants became to slow down. One younger fire dragon became so worn out that they begun falling from the sky. When no one else decided to turn around to help the stranger group went ahead and stopped the young Ridgeback from falling to their death. Their team didn't win the contest, however the future and original founders of the safezone had yet a surprise to speak up when the ruling clan of the safezone were supposed to be decided. The strange group was picked to be the winners, not because their strength outshines the others or because their teamwork wasn't fully cleanest of the punch, however their ability to manage time, resources and power they were able to prevent death of another dragon during the time of the contest. The fact that they abounded their possibility of winning for another living dragon was something admirable within the eyes of others. [/columns] Since the group of strangers were merely strangers to each other as they were to others they decided to found the clan. The four dragons; Harvest, Arana, Dreamkeeper and Infinity named their clan as Gale Blaze to fit for their new home and respect of fire flight. The gale inspires the newfound ties and rebirth, while blaze is a reminder of burning soul and pride. While beginning steps of the newfound clan were harsh with an inexperienced dragons leading it, it became eventually the most favorited clan within Emberglow Hearth. The determination awakened the eyes of many others and supported those who had been unable to let go of their past to move forward. To say it short their existence alone brought a light of hope in the large shadow of brotherhood.
