The harbor, the port and the white sails of the several different fleets, stationed at the docks that paint the city in shades of white, creams, browns, teals and blues. The landscape of Porto is no different from many other harbor towns with an ocean view. Sitting where the Tangled Woods' dark purple terrain meets the sandy shores of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, the city stretches from Water domain to shadow, displaying a wide range of characters that inhabit the city. With five main groups, the city denizens may have some animosities among them but all show a single goal: growing richer, growing stronger. As they worked together to make Porto a well-known refuge for merchants and trading, the city landscape changed. It became less of a chaotic wharf and more of an elegant merchant town. Here, you will learn a little more about this medium sized city where money is the main deity. The Navigator Guild settled in Porto and refurbished the whole town. Now lively and refined, the city is known for it's cultural aspects and busy night life - although it's origins as a pirate bay can still be seen in dark alleys and on it's underground life activities. Still, the city remains known for it's better and more... licit aspects. The citizens of Porto are hardworking dragons mostly interested in trading and working than following clan leaderships. The majority of dragons follow the hierarchy within their trade or their guildmasters and while there is some sort of clan leadership, most don't hold the leaders in higher respect than others. The city sits at the very borders of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, where it starts meeting the Tangled Wood of Shadow territory. The seaside aspect of the town enabled dragons of many elements to settle in but caused the clan to lack in the more classical trades of Water clans such as divinations, prophecies and deepsea exploration. The city deals mostly in shallow waters or on the surface, keeping flights capable of crossing the sea, as well as a large fleet to bring goods in and out of town. Pretty close to the Driftwood Drag, almost shadow territory, and in fact stretching from all the way from the Sea of a Thousand Currents towards it (because I started out in shadow and moved to water after!). A bit more to the right however as it's pretty close to where the Sunbeam Ruins start and also pretty close to Levitos (water flight lore I guess?) Often mentioned as simply 'the Guild' by other factions and as the 'Navigators' for it's members, the group is well respected although often mocked for being posh and haughty. Most Navigators will not mix with the other factions safe a few and being the closest the clan has to 'leadership' and 'rulling group' means they are obviously the target of hatred and satire by the other dragons. [size=2][b]leadership[/b][/size] Farris and Nephilim are the Guildmasters and the very obvious leader figures not only to the Guild and their respective faction but to the clan as a whole as most of the dragons residing in Porto pay some form of tax to the Guild. They are the clan's representatives in any matter relating other clans, as well as in front of Tidelord's Exalting March, with Nephilim leading Exalt efforts. They have landlord energy. The Navigator Harbor is home to the Guildmaster's Quarters and where the group will stay most of the time. As the crew lost it's leader Flavia after Elena was unable to rescue her from a cursed temple, the Crew settled in Porto while efforts were done to find the temple again and bring Flavia back to safety. After the rescue, the group sort of stayed with some assuming Stormsbane leaders Flavia and Vanessa will often do Pirate and mercenary stalkings of unaware clans in the surrounding waters and skies of Porto and bring back a share of profit to Elena and Maria. How much of that is true is debatable. [size=2][b]leadership[/b][/size] Stormsbane Crew was formed by the merging of two mercenary groups, one led by Flavia and the other by Vanessa. The groups decided to join forces after the two became official mates. Over the years, Vanessa became the main leader, with Flavia often acting as the group's spokesdragon. [size=2][b]locations[/b][/size] Hint: there's a place called Stormsbane Wharf for a reason. They are always found there, although they often have dens and homes in other parts of town, usually where housing is cheaper, Stormsbane dragons are always hanging around their wharf or around the Pirate Bay, specially the Gilly n' Gull tavern. Caravan members will stick for themselves and protect them, meaning they hardly ever deal or interact with other factions, safe few exceptions. They are responsible for all gathering done around town and in other Flights and for finding specific exotic materials for alchemy, crafting and trading. As group responsible for the daily produce, they are central to the clan's well-being and well-known around town. [size=2][b]leadership[/b][/size] Voted Caravan leader is Hakim, although on a daily basis, caravan members don't have to inform or question him in order to make decisions. Each member has full liberty to make their own choices and Hakim only takes the role of leader when another group [s]usually the Navigator Guild[/s] requires. In general, Faipur Caravan will still settle any dispute by gathering and simply voting whatever they prefer seeing done. They are close knit and familiar. [size=2][b]locations[/b][/size] Known Caravan locations are the Faipur Residence and the Royal Mail, and only because that's where two members work at. The Caravan is known for residing and staying mostly to their Residence at the old Blueridge Greatshell Hotel, sitting opposite sides of Caramaelstron Bay to the Navigator Harbor. The group initially started with a small clan hailing from the Souther Icefield but has since expanded to include some other dragons who appreciate the faction's quiet and secluded nature. As they are the town guard, they'll often clash with most groups, specially the Stormsbane Crew although also at times with some members of Snapdragon Drag and Faipur Caravan. They are often seen as an extension of the Navigator Guild, although some members of Helgardr Keep are considered more accessible than the others. [size=2][b]leadership[/b][/size] Official leader of the group is Hel, although at times, Eldbjorg appears as a more solid leader figure, being the town judge. Despite having a clear leader, there has hardly ever been a need for a leader as Helgardr Keep dragons hardly ever pose trouble for the other factions outside of their work. Most dragons will answer for themselves, and only when political questions are at hand Hel or Edd will intervene. As you draw further away from Caramaelstron Bay, the sand beneath your feet and the ground lose it's white sandy colouring in favour of the dark purple sands of the Tangled Wood, as you start approaching the Driftwood Drag and the beginning of Shadow Domain. [size=2][b]leadership[/b][/size] There isn't a central power or leadership, although it is usually considered that Kelly is the central figure or the Snapdragons, with Freya as the one actively calling the shots and Carolinda being the one most active and engaged in discussing with other groups. Luar acts as the leader of the Water Seers.
