Few ever leave their territory and some aren't particularly fond of outsiders. They won't harm you for no reason (though the validity of some reasons is debatable) and have no interest in conquering or feuding aside from a few rabble-rousers here and there. As long as you respect the flora and fauna and keep your wits about you, you should be fine. Fellow Nature dragons are more easily trusted than those from other flights although they also have a soft spot for Earth and Plague dragons. Wandering around you'll notice a lack of permanent structures and signs of technological advancement. Dragons here prefer to live in nests, dens, or caves. Some just sleep wherever. While most technology is of no interest to them, many dragons here do have a strong interest in the natural sciences. Outsiders doing research are welcome as long as they leave no trace! The Backwood clan has no established hierarchy. Some take more of a leading role than others but nothing is official or enforced. Their drive is a communal desire to keep the woods healthy and go about their day undisturbed. Mutations are common in the Backwoods. A common one is having many eyes. Some say too many. Those people are wrong. There are also a few dragons with no eyes (they wear daredevil covers). Maybe there's a connection? [sup]I honestly don't know yet oops[/sup] Fungi play an important role in the woods. Mushrooms thrive here, many of which taking residence on the bodies of dragons. There are a few Backwood dragons that cultivate a special type of mushroom known as mip mushrooms or "mips". The purpose of these specimens remains a mystery as no one outside of the clan has ever encountered them. A mixture of tropical, temperate, and boreal biomes, the woods is filled with a wide array of flora and fauna. The mysterious mip mushrooms are grown somewhere within.[/columns] [columns][img]http://i64.tinypic.com/1zzt5kl.png[/img][nextcol][size=5]The Swamp[/size][br] The swamp is home to Backwood dragons that prefer a somewhat aquatic life. It supports the booming frog population that makes the area quite loud at night from all the croaking.[/columns] [columns][img]http://i63.tinypic.com/2uyq5fr.png[/img][nextcol][size=5]The Gardens[/size][br] While the Backwoods is littered with wildflowers, some areas are specially maintained by a few dragons who have a green thumb. You'll find a mixture of edible and poisonous mushrooms so don't eat any you are unfamiliar with! @Mip Your lair is AMAZING. I am so glad I clicked this thread after looking at your lair (your avatar dragon made me come and look in the first place). I've got a few nature and swamp dragons, but wow, your lair is dedication. It's beautiful.
