Chapter 47: Free Post
"Come on man, just do this one favour for me and I'll owe you for all eternity." Runeclaw begged his best friend. "This is important to me, and I don't know who else to ask."
"You understand what you are asking me very illegal?" Rammus reminded him. "Delivering an unmarked box? Out of my usual supply route? Without knowing what is it and why it needs to get to where it's going? Not to mention you aren't paying me."
"Money's a bit tight. But I'll pay you back! I can get you the money, I just need time!" Runeclaw promised.
Rammus shook his head and sighed. "Okay, I'm trusting you on this I wouldn't do this for anyone else. And this is a one-time thing, understand?" He took the crate and struggled to lift it.
"I'll help you get it to your airship." Runeclaw offered. Rammus was joining a few of the airship trips to get used to the usual trade routes and navigation tactics before he took off on his own.
"If this thing, whatever it is, get's me in trouble, then it's on you." Rammus reminded his best friend.
"You won't get in trouble, I promise. And if you do, I can get you out of it." Runeclaw vowed.
The whole interaction left Rammus with loads of questions, but something told him not to ask. Runeclaw seemed to have a different look about him lately, as though he were hiding something. He had tried to press him, but his best friend wouldn't tell him anything. Chances are this crate had something to do with it. it all seemed a little shady. Rammus sincerely hoped that this crate would be the end of whatever business Runeclaw was hiding. If not, he didn't know if he could save him.
Enjoy a short filler chapter checking up on the brothers while I wait for tomorrow to began to get back to schedule! We are nearly ending phase 2 of the arc (which started from when the three bookkeepers met Quartz) and will be entering phase 3, the final phase.
