A slip of paper flaps by, slapping onto a structure. Scribbled in cursive writing, the flyer reads:
Are you in the middle of a war? Maybe you'd like to settle a bet and are in need of a warrior. A team of bodyguards for whilst you take your wagon around Sornieth, or when someone's after your life. Maybe you just want to trade for jewels and ores and trinkets and food and familiars. Some outfit help? Or perhaps, you're in need of a babysitter or a dozen. We also teach newborns.
Rent a warrior now from the Crimson Crown Mercenary Guild.
We're always open for the right price.
P.S Also accepting alliances.
P.P.S We do not accept jobs that may harm our allies.
A large red X is drawn on a spot somewhere over the Southern Icefield.
(whispers my guild is - headcanon - infamous in sornieth as it houses two brutal fighters, one of which was once a huge fugitive all over sornieth and known as one of the world's best fighters as well as one of the most dangerous. as a mercenary guild, they also hurt others as long as they're paid to. however, although most don't know this, they don't actually kill unnecessarily; they just pretend to have - at least, most of them don't. the ones who do kill are the rebels. even so, they're still one of the best mercenary groups around but have a name of sometimes turning against their clients, especially so when they figure out who the true villain is.)

A large shadow flits by, and might have been a trick of the eye if not for a letter written on thick parchment left in its place. It is written in dark ink and contains a proposal for an alliance, rambling though it is.
It reads:
Greetings to you, leaders of the Chasm. May this missive find you in good health.
We have heard of you and the types of beings you house in your clan, and we are intrigued. We do not listen to the rumors, of course, as thinking you evil would be very hypocritical of us. Instead, we find ourselves curious of your clan and its safety. Many seem to find it fit to attack you, harass you, keep you from peace. We find that... deplorable. Abhorrent. So many more things, but I digress.
I write to you to propose a deal, an alliance. We, the clan of the Abyssal Sanctum, have talked and find this the best course of action. As the sovereign of my clan, I have agreed to send this in hopes that you will agree with us, and therefore send us a favorable reply.
If you are wary of our intentions, I assure you there is no need to be. We are a group much like yours, full to the brim of those looked down upon by those that do not understand us. Eldritch beings, demons, monsters, Beastclan, and others with no accurate classification. Only one among us could be counted as a full, actual dragon. In short, we find ourselves to be sympathetic of your plight, as we have gone through much the same before our clan was formed.
If you find us to be worthy of an alliance, simply write your reply and leave it in a shadowed corner and we shall retrieve it. There is no need to worry about trying to find us- our location- for we will later provide a way to get in contact more reliably once we know that you are one of Ours.
May the Shadows keep you safe and guide you to peace.
Regards,
Anathema
Sovereign of the Abyssal Sanctum
PS: If you would like more information on us, you will find a scroll available at once you have read this letter.
Looking back to the place you found the original missive, the
scroll is exactly where it was said to be.

If this scroll happened to be within a block of crystal, blame it on Lute. She has a tendency to do that. She just loves crystalizing everything.
Anyways, if you have any questions, feel free to write to Gatorade... the alien entity and the lore keeper of our clan!

There is a picture of the mentioned dragon, beautifully drawn in watery inks, on the letter.

"Greetings! I am Opal, matriarch of the Frozen Alliance. Word has spread that your clan is seeking allies." Opal's head tilts ever so slightly, a mischievous glint her in eyes. "I would like to propose an alliance. My envoys have told me that your clan has been harassed by others in the past. Many dragons in the Frozen Alliance are warriors who would be glad to offer assistance, should you require it. Along from our combat experience, we also have a large supply of food, which we often share with our allies."
"If you wish to know more about my clan before you form an alliance with us, here is a document with the Alliance's history."
She hands over the parchment, and extends an armored claw. "Would an alliance with us interest you?"

An Imperial, dark like shadows, watched as the messenger took back to the skies from behind the veil of a barrier. Slowly but with the pride of a Leader, he strode towards the left message, taking it into his claws gently. Swiftly reading the contents, the Imperial looked over his shoulder, over at his assistant. As if communicating through their eyes, the glowing Spiral nodded with a bow, and headed back inside to respond to the scroll.[nextcol]-[nextcol][/columns]
A streak of glowing green approached closer to the chasm, yellow eyes darting about in search of his destination. Recognition lit in his yellow orbs as he caught onto the location, and spiraled (hah pun intended I mean continue) down to land. Looking around, he finally placed a black letter embroidered with gold and pressed shut with the Guild's seal, on the ground. After placing a talisman of protection over it, the Spiral, now satisfied, took off once more for the journey back home.

Greetings, Leader(s) of the Clan of The Chasm.
The Crimson Crown would be honoured if you were to join with us in an alliance. To be attacked frequently, yet survive so long, your clan must be formidable warriors. It would prove much more beneficial for both the Clan of The Chasm and the Crimson Crown to have this alliance formed. And if you so happen to require assistance, fear not, for if you would so wish, the Crimson Crown would gladly aid you in your battles from this day forth, with as much manpower as we can afford.
Perhaps one day we shall meet and bond over some tea, if you would so like to. Our Leader looks forward to knowing you all.

A fae flew towards one of the leaders of the Chasm. "Hello, I am Nova, the Matriarch of The DreamShard Clan. We have heard about you from one of our allies, and we are all interested in becoming friends with your clan." She paused for a moment. "We have somewhat similar goals to your own. We often take in orphaned or abused dragons. Some of them were runaways, others we found being sold in the auction house for low prices. Others still we found abandoned in random places." She seemed to be remembering something, but she soon shook it off. "Anyways, I hope you will accept!"
