A while back I saw some people writing little stories about their exalted dragons. I also have very very very limited lair space, and the dragons I have all already have some sort of backstory to occupation (whether or not I've actually gotten around to writing it down). And I started getting more ideas than I have dragons [s]and my lore shop is basically dead[/s] so I figure I'd try writing exalt stories instead.

[columns]The territory of Clan Coelestis contains a river called the Path of the Exalted. Every night, the souls of dragons exalted in clan territory follows this river to the sea, joining with a current that takes them all the way to the Spiral Keep, where they will enter into the service of the Tidelord. The Path of the Exalted serves as a road to the afterlife, guiding those who gave their lives in service.
During nights when the moon is at its highest peak in the sky, the journeying souls are visible as they make their way to the Spiral Keep. Dozens of spectral, luminescent dragons soar just above the brilliant waves, their forms reflected in the water below them.
They leave their corporeal bodies and instead join the ranks of the exalted. There is no higher honor. But to the living, they are gone.
Nautilus makes sure they are not forgotten, not forsaken. He documents the souls, the backstories and the very essences of those who no longer walk Sornieth. [nextcol]

Every dragon I exalt will be given a short paragraph or two. Usually it'll be just a backstory, but I might include song lyrics or quotes. Just words in general.
Exaltlings Recorded: 4
Dragons in one post were each exalted in the same month, one post per month. Sibling dragons will not have dividers between each other.
You may post.

The Dedicated[/columns]Acolyte was a child of water, heart and soul dedicated to the sea. To her, it held a dazzling allure that pulled her talons to the rushing tides every morning. She longed to, someday, become one with the sea. Upon death, her soul would join the ranks of the exalted and she should serve proudly at the side of the Tidelord.
How quickly these things fade.
For during the warring between Ice and Water, she fell in combat, and against her will, joined the ranks of the Icewarden’s warriors.

The Denier[/columns]
Like his sister, Acolyte, Permafrost was loyal to his deity. But his god held no power over the ever-hungry tides. Likewise, the Tidelord was powerless among the ice-hardened tundras and ice fields ridden with crevasses and spires. Permafrost was loyal to the Icewarden, and none other.
Permafrost was the child of a frostbitten fugitive and a winter mage-pirate. His parents were dragons of ice, not water. So why shouldn't he?

Refraction was never meant for this world. It has been years since the reign of the glitch queen, Naomi, but her legacy lives on. Her descendants span Sornieth, many causing havoc and destruction in their wake.
Clan Coelestis could take no chances. This dragon could grow up to be a menace someday. The hatchling already began to show its unnatural heritage. One moment, he was there. The next, gone. He faded in and out of existence continually.
It was better this way.[/columns]

The Abyss-taken[/columns]
There is no higher honor than to serve your deity. This much is agreed among all clans of Sornieth.
Nepthys was marked at birth as an exaltling, one destined to leave the mortal world of their own volition, not at the hands of enemy dragons or beastclans. Upon the sunrise of her fifth day,
she would follow the Path of the Exalted, and join the ghostly stream of dragon spirits on their final march.
Nepthys would not allow this. Under the a cloak of shadows and guarded by the stars, she fled the archipelago and threw herself into the Kraken's Depths. She knew that there were unholy,
unspoken terrors concealed within the abyss. But being bound to one of those creatures would be just the same as being bound to a dragon deity. [/columns]
An ancient stone bearing the ancestral rune of the Tidelord. Such a find should be kept as a prized possession.

Nocturne dragons have trouble seeing themselves within the scratched glass, while other dragons have no problem. Curious, isn't it?

The Snake[/columns]
I remember Eolith. The merciless one, the cold one. The one with the skull over his face, pinpoints of light where his eyes would have been.
I remember seeing that skull on the battlefield, during the clashing of Water and Earth. He fought with a cold fury that none other on the battlefield matched.
How ironic that the great Eolith, the warrior of the wasteland, wa brought down by a simple snakebite.
Perhaps the war would have gone differently if it had happened sooner.

Take me away from here
To a place where my feelings don't go waste
We were in the atmosphere
Flying high above the stars that shone on your face
So I'm running, running baby, from this hurting that you're giving me
All through the night
I'll be dancing, baby, dancing so your pretty face is hard to see
Tonight, tonight, tonight
Love Again, Pentatonix [/columns]
Also known as Tidelord's Tears, this agate is rumored to grant its bearer premonitions. (Special thanks to Skitties!)

The prophet receives messages from the Tidelord himself. She hears him in the whispering waves, the seabirds’ plaintive calls. She hears the words within.
But the words are twisted, haunting, echoing. They are warped as the Shade slowly takes hold. It sinks its deformed claws into her mind, little by little.
Someday, she will break.
But today is not the day.
Beneath the Tidelord’s wings, the Shade will not reach her. She will be protected by his scales, his magic, his ocean. Her mind will heal.
The Shade will not have you, prophet, for your god will keep you safe.
We are the unjustly suffering. We are the ones forgotten, buried beneath the debris, lost in the shadows.
We are the scourge of the earth, and we will not rest until the world is made to suffer, just as we have.
But are you not tired? Do you not miss the moon, the open skies? Do you not long to return?
You think it impossible, that you will never be the same as you once were. You believe with all your soul that you will remain like this forever. When the sun dies, you will remain. When the earth crumbles to pieces, you will remain. Are you not tired?
We...
We are tired.
We wish to see the moon and the open skies. We long to return.
Yes, we are tired.
Come home. Come back to the sky, children of the Shade, and rest.
