Flatback Sea Turtle
Meat
These turtles are plentiful off the coasts of the Viridian Labyrinth, where nature dragon culture expressly forbids eating hatchlings that make the annual gauntlet from their beached nests to the water's edge.
380
13
Leatherback Sea Turtle
Meat
Though the shell of this turtle is actually edible as a type of jerky, it is more commonly dried for usage as a bowl or platter.
380
13
Mud Turtle
Meat
Mud turtles are often mistaken as flat-faced stones laying in moist riverbeds. Using them as stepping stones is not encouraged.
53
5
Snapping Turtle
Meat
If you can get past the nasty bite of a snapping turtle, the meat is quite delectable. Ouch, that smarts!
53
5
Steppes Box Turtle
Meat
This species of turtle is known more for its valuable patterned shell than for its taste.
53
5
Garden Tender
Meat
If left unattended, garden tenders will tend your tender plants down to the roots. Tend those tenders into tasty tenders of tender.
25
3
Speckled Tortoise
Meat
A large, but challenging meal.

Balsas Anole
Meat
The Balsas Anole can change its color based on its mood. This color probably means 'terrified.'
15
2
Cave Gecko
Meat
The stripes along a cave gecko's hide become bio-luminescent when it senses danger. Not nature's proudest moment, there.
50
6
Chameleon
Meat
It is said that chameleons are great for determining a dragon's mood. Wrap one around your finger, watch the color change, then have a snack!
40
4
Green Iguana
Meat
This friendly iguana can be seen accompanying science teachers on educational trips, and has even been known to help drive a magical school bus. (Special thanks to CatalyticGenesis!)
65
8
Green-throated Skink
Meat
The more confident cousin of the Yellow-bellied Skink.
100
9
Juvenile Prairie Skink
Meat
Adult prairie skinks take wonderful care of their young... until they are old enough to appreciate the value of hard work and why don't you go out and get a job already and apply yourself!
100
9
Leopard Gecko
Meat
Leopard geckos often slap the sides of rocks and trees with their flattened tails to signal if predators are approaching.
50
6
Lesser Land Iguana
Meat
Glowing with self-esteem, this reptile truly embraces the "Less is More" mentality. (Special thanks to ArtisanAlice!)
65
8
Panther Anole
Meat
The foolhardy Panther Anole flares its throat and charges whatever threatens it. They're easy prey.
15
2
Shiny Anole
Meat
The Shiny Anole is a curious lizard that basks in heavy rain, not sunlight. It hides during clear days.
15
2
Swimming Anole
Meat
This lizard knows six different swimming styles, yet only uses one.
15
2
Tokay Gecko
Meat
An incredibly potent layer of poison film covers this reptile's hide.
50
6
Tree Gecko
Meat
Excellent camouflage helps this creature blend in with leaves and grasses. Colorblindness doesn't help it when looking for a hiding spot.
50
6
Weird Purple Skink
Meat
You could have sworn you saw a few of these running around Baldwin's cauldron the other day. Probably maybe fine to eat.
100
9
Marine Iguana
Meat
Despite their name, these creatures can't swim. They live by the water's edge and eat kelp that washes up with the tide. (Special thanks to lostgubbins!)
65
8
Longneck Monitor
Meat
These reptiles have little feet.
41
5

The Banded Rattlesnake is known for congregating in ruins and temples, hoping to scare the pants off of well-known explorers that may walk by. (Special thanks to confusedPaladin!)
24
2
Blue Racer
Meat
These striking reptiles can often be seen weaving their vibrant bodies around subterranean vines and roots, making the cave walls appear like intricate, moving works of art.
26
3
Bluebite Rattler
Meat
Despite warnings from their elders, rebellious dragons who chew these snakes turn an odd shade of violet before swelling up like a blueberry. Stop, don't... (Special thanks to Trickilicky!)
24
2
Coiled Burnserpent
Meat
Mysteriously hot-blooded for a reptile, the burnserpent uses its body heat to startle predators while it wriggles away.
38
4
Coral Snake
Meat
The bright coloring of the Coral Snake warns of its potent venom. Devour them carefully.
25
3
Emerald Ratsnake
Meat
This particular species of snake lacks venom and is quite docile- that is... unless you are a rat.
25
3
Emerald Striker
Meat
The emeralds are not gems, but reserves of venom; a glittering disappointment. (KS Sponsored by Opal.)

A waveskimmer is an odd name for a penguin-like animal as penguins are famed for their diving abilities, and aren't often at the surface when at sea. Diving physiology in birds is pretty epic;
a penguin can slow it's heart down, induce hypothermia and cut off blood to organs it does not need as it dives. It also starves it's muscles of oxygen, as there is oxygen attached to the myoglobin in the muscles which can only be released when no blood-oxygen is present.[/columns]

It is stated that the Emerald Webwing 'looks nothing like it's parents' and that the Ruby Webwing is a 'hummingbird', which may suggest that web-winged birds are feather-winged birds that have been tampered with by the Arcanist.
One of the earliest creatures on the game. [/columns]
[columns][img]http://i.imgur.com/yHXNqlb.png[/img][nextcol]Here we have a six-limbed bird,
which makes a bridge between this section and the next. It is also clearly related to the other web-winged birds; this is a rare missing link between the 4-limbed and 6-limed animals of Sornieth!
Like the Emerald and Ruby Webwings, the Silky Webwing has 'undergone mutations', which may suggest that it's four-wing state is nothing more than a fluke of a pink-eyed dragon's tampering.[/columns]

Webbed Wings
Columbiform Mimics Pigeons and Dodos But With Webbed Wings
What are you, some sort of missing link with your cockatrice wings?
Basilisks and Cockatrices Long tailed, web winged
Compare to dodo
May need to rethink this; these are clearly more serpentine but the evolution of the beak makes me want to stick it with the birds gah!
Sea Ones? A webbed aqueornith and a webbed charadiform
Waveskimmers are described as 'always humming'. As these familiars were created by Baldwin, perhaps the 'web wings' are a result of his tampering, as there are 'normal' penguins as food items.
A waveskimmer is an odd name for a penguin-like animal as penguins are famed for their diving abilities, and aren't often at the surface when at sea. Diving physiology in birds is pretty epic;
a penguin can slow it's heart down, induce hypothermia and cut off blood to organs it does not need as it dives. It also starves it's muscles of oxygen, as there is oxygen attached to the myoglobin in the muscles which can only be released when no blood-oxygen is present.
Webwings The Original and Best
Webwings are 'altered by Arcane energies', which gives them extra eyes. It is stated that the Emerald Webwing 'looks nothing like it's parents' and that the Ruby Webwing is a 'hummingbird', which may suggest that web-winged birds are feather-winged birds that have been tampered with by the Arcanist.
One of the earliest creatures on the game.
Here we have a six-limbed bird,
which makes a bridge between this section and the next. It is also clearly related to the other web-winged birds; this is a rare missing link between the 4-limbed and 6-limed animals of Sornieth!
Like the Emerald and Ruby Webwings, the Silky Webwing has 'undergone mutations', which may suggest that it's four-wing state is nothing more than a fluke of a pink-eyed dragon's tampering.
Thanks goes to @MysterySandwing for getting the passerine section in shape!

Mammals have a number of definitions to their name. The ones we learn when we are little are 'furry and warm blooded'. Later we add 'has mammary gland'. A little later we have 'animals with a mandibular-squamosal joint'- that is to say the jawbone is just a mandible attached to the squamosal in the skull. Most vertebrates have super-complex jawbones with many bones, not just mandibles, but these bones are lost in mammals, or they have moved into the wonderfully complex ear; most animals don't have as many ear bones as mammals do!
The ability to make milk is matched by the ability to drink it and the morphology of teeth. Mammals have super-awesome teeth as they only replace them a few times in their life time; once the 'milk teeth' fall out, the replacement teeth can form a neat set of differing sizes; compare to reptiles who all have teeth of similar size and shape in their mouths, spaced so they interlock rather than touch.
