To get to the Tangled Wood from the Ashfall Waste, you must go through two territories: either the Windswept Plateau and the Scarred Wasteland, or the Shifting Expanse and the Sunbeam Ruins. Both are incredibly long trips to make, but it beats flying over the Sea of a Thousand Currents for days on end without rest. Swimming through it would be faster, but you don't know what lurks beneath the deep blue waves. Unwelcoming Water clans, hostile maren, and whatever monstrosities the Water Flight keeps secret in the Leviathan Trench. But what if you had a guide? Someone who could bring you to dry rest spaces, stocked with resources and beds made from the softest material? Someone who could bend the water currents around them to aid your journey? Someone to help defend against the ruffians and pirates that make the Sea their home? The Ambassadors of the Deep may be what you're thinking of. They make themselves hidden among the Tsunami Flats, the only thing that points to their location from afar being a solitary flag that waves loosely in the wind. That's because they sometimes work outside the law; it's alright, though. That's only the case for when they catch outlaws and criminals trying to find asylum from their punishments in their domain. No need to worry about Beastclan ambushes, either. The Ambassadors have forged an alliance with the maren schools they share their home with. They're your best bet at getting to the other side of Sornieth as quickly as possible, but they aren't doing charity work. There's a fee for putting their lives in danger again and again for strangers they may never see again... (welcome to my lore master post! currently revamping; sorry for the mess!)
