The fog is dense this night. So thick that all that can be seen are the spindly pine limbs poking through. Every once in a while, they tear back the shroud revealing a vignette of horror and of panic, and of bloodshed. And somewhere, unsuspected in the dark there walks a dragon; the Imposter who was responsible for the cries that echo hollowly into the night, never to be answered, soon to be forgotten.
Except by four hatchlings. One of which is trying to dole out revenge, a parentless Nocturne wants to figure out where she belongs, another Nocturne is assigned the task of finding The Imposter, and a Spiral is still reeling from the devestation of losing her family. They must rebuild the clan of Darkling Vale with caution and figure out who destroyed it in the first place before they, too, are tricked into their own destruction. No one is free from suspicion.
Wow! It has been months since I was last on FR and, needless to say, my dragons are all in a serious state of starvation. I had started a Pinkerlocke before my hiatus, but since my lair was in such bad shape and I was only a couple chapters into the first Pinkerlocke, I decided to just start over.
This will follow along the same theme as my previous narrative, but I'm approaching it a little differently. For those of you wondering what in the world a Pinkerlocke is, here is a link to the thread that explains it. I'm also incorporating some of the Nuzlocke rules as well.
Here is a list of the guidelines I'll be following:
1. The Basics
- I will be starting with four "active" dragons in my lair. These are the only four dragons that can participate in the Pinkerlocke.
- I didn't do an entire lair clean-out since several of my first dragons were gifts and I still really treasure them. They are a part of the Ghostling Crew which will make a guest appearance in my lore from time to time, but can't participate or help out with any coli draws.
- No Scatter-scrolling a dragon till it reaches level 25
- A dragon can't recieve a new primary gene till level 10, a secondary gene till level 15 and a tertiary till level 20
- Only one egg can be hatched per month
- A new dragon can be bought from the AH when one of my existing dragons reaches level 12
- Gift dragons or dragons I receive as prizes from forum games/giveaways are considered freebies and can be incorporated either into the Ghostling crew or the Pinkerlocke.
- Only food won from the coli by by Pinkerlocke dragons or obtained from gathering turns can be used for food. No buying food from the AH. (This means extra battles outside of what Pinkerlocke gives me might be necessary)
- I can use members of the Ghostling crew in the Coli, but any food they collect will be stored in the treasury and sold when I reach stacks of 99.
- In order to gather, I must have a dragon that is proficient in that type of gathering in my lore.
2. A death in the coli
- None of the Ghostling Crew are subject to this. They also cannot participate in any Pinkerlocke related coli battles
- A coin will be flipped. If heads, the dragon survives, but it will be severely injured and disabled anywhere from one day to the rest of their lives (will determine using a random number generator). If a dragon is disabled, it won't be able to participate in Coli. If tails, the dragon is dead and can no longer participate in the Pinkerlocke. This method can only be used to save a dragon once in its life and has a week-long cool down before it can be used on any other dragons. Example: If I save Dragon A on Monday and Dragon B dies on Wednesday, I can't flip a coin for Dragon B and it automatically dies. However, if dragon B dies on Tuesday of the following week, seven days have passed so I can flip a coin and try to save it.
- A dead dragon will first be available for adoption on this thread. If no readers claim it within three days, the dragon will be exalted.
3. Pinkerton
Many events will be determined by what Pinkerton gives me that day.
- Food: Dragons fight in the Coli at a level lower than my highest leveled dragon on the team. Amount of battles vary depending on the type of food:
Plants: 15 matches
Insects: 25 matches
Seafood: 35 matches
Meat: 45 matches
- Materials: Development of a relationship (romantic or otherwise) within my lair through writing.
- Trinkets: I will work on art for a dragon or decorate their bio.
- Battle Items: heads means a death strike, tails means my dragons avoided the confrontation. If I roll a death strike, my dragons have to fight 10 consecutive rounds (barring any glitching) in the coli at one level lower than the highest leveled dragon on the team.
- Familiars: I can either add a familiar to a dragon (doesn't have to be the exact type that Pinkerton drops) or I will breed a couple if they are ready.
- Apparel: I can add one piece of apparel (doesn't have to be what Pinkerton dropped) to a dragon. This should hopefully help with impulse spending.
