Her eyes lit up, and she immediately flew down, picking it up and studying it. She scratched the dirt off, then brought it closer to her eye. [b]"Ugh! Fool's Gold."[/b] She growled, throwing it. She now landed on a large granite boulder, her frills laid flat in anger as she flopped down. [b]"Hunting all day and yet no gold or precious stones... This is [i]boring[/i]."[/b] She said with a sigh. Suddenly, there was movement in the grass. The fae quickly turned her head towards the area of movement. Nothing. The bogsneak snarled and slunk along, baring his teeth, apparently ready to fight more. [b]"Stop that!"[/b] The fae shouted, her frills high. The snapper and bogsneak stopped, staring up at the angry fae. The bogsneak giggled. [b]"What are you doing? This is miles out in the wilderness! Where are your parents? Why are you giggling?"[/b] Frostblossom asked. [b]"You sound a bit weird."[/b] The bogsneak said. The snapper elbowed him, then cleared his throat. [b]"My name is Raigi, and this is Howard. We came from different clans, they were going to take us somewhere to be "exalted highest honor blah blah blah" or whatever but..." [/b] Raigi looked at Howard, they both grinned at each other. [b]"We ran away. Much more exciting. We met up and have been wandering around for the past few hours."[/b] Howard said, crossing his legs and smiling proudly. FrostBlossom sighed. [b]"Stick with me then. It's not good for hatchlings to be out on their own..."[/b] Raigi reeled backwards. [b]"How can we be sure you're not going to take us back...?"[/b] He asked, narrowing his eyes. [b]"And who do you think you are, telling us what to do??"[/b] Howard spat, clawing at the ground. [b]"What's that?"[/b] She said, flying towards it slowly. [b]"What's what??"[/b] The two boys said, cocking their heads and trotting quickly after her. The nocturne approached, smiling. [b]"Take what? Take who? Take where? I assure you young ones, I'm not taking you anywhere. I made camp yesterday a few miles back, but decided to go Northwest a bit."[/b] He said, taking the sail down and tying the boat to a tree. He approached closer, and noticed the gold in the fae's paw. [b]"Mm. Nice gold you got there, any chance I could find some around here too?"[/b] He asked, raising a brow with a smirk. [b]"Not a chance!"[/b] Frostblossom said, frills rising angrily, clinching the gold tightly in her fist. [b]"Not a chance, huh? Alright, I'll just be on my way then..."[/b] He said, walking back to his boat. [b]"Oh. By the way, name's Rain. Pleasure meeting ya."[/b] He said, then snickered and got back in the boat. [b]"If you need me, I'll be around. Looking for that "not a chance" gold that is... Heh. See ya."[/b] He said, lifting his sail and undoing the rope tied to the tree. He tipped his hat as the boat pushed out, sailing away... [b]"Who was that?"[/b] Raigi asked. [b]"Someone we wouldn't want to associate with, that's for sure.... If you see him around, keep your distance. I don't like him...."[/b] Frostblossom said with a grimace, then looked back towards the forest ahead of them. [b]"Come on. We need to make camp."[/b] [/center]

[center][item=Ambush] [b]Day 2:[/b] (Oh... Oh [i]no[/i]. I got [i]heads[/i]. Not tails...) (I guess since I only have two adults they'll be the ones to fight. Frost Blossom, Rain, good luck. Ten battles in the Training Fields with two level one dragons and just 15 minor health potions. Fun.) ~~~ It was very early in the morning. So early, that the sun hadn't risen yet. Frostblossom awoke, she couldn't sleep. Something was wrong. She listened, trying to hear or see anything in the dark. Then she realized it. There was no [i]sounds[/i]. The only noise was the wind in the grass and making the trees creak eerily. She flew down cautiously from the boulder she had been sleeping on, and landed on the grass next to Howard and Raigi, who were sleeping in a classic hatchling pile, like newborn puppies do. Frostblossom didn't want to wake them up, hatchlings needed their sleep, they grew so much everyday that even though they would romp around in the daytime, they needed rest and it would be bad for them to go without it. She tried sneaking past, and Howard started snoring. She looked, then continued slowly inching forward. She accidentally stirred a leaf, and it was picked up by the breeze, swirling up into the air. Frostblossom gave a quiet gasp as it drifted down towards Raigi's nose. She quickly swooped and grabbed it, as it was hanging inches from the small snapper's nose. She had heard that snapper's never slept, yet Raigi seemed like he was, but she wasn't going to take the risk, that didn't mean he couldn't wake up easily. Raigi wiggled around, grunting and murmuring, his eyes opening barely to slits, he rubbed his nose and then his eyes shut, and he rested his head on Howard's leg. Frostblossom sighed in relief, then fluttered away swiftly and silently. She stood in the forest. Something was indeed wrong. No crickets. No night birds. No owls. No nighttime noises at all from living things. Nothing. Her frills lied flat as she looked around, concerned. As a fae, she was naturally sensitive to the magic and elements that the land, and creatures themselves, emitted. Since her father was a skydancer, it only heightened this sense, she wasn't able to read emotions, but she was able to feel the presence of magical and elemental energies if they were close enough. That's why things felt even more wrong to her. She couldn't sense any animals anywhere. She knew for certain that there was nothing within a 150 foot radius around. Though, no... Wait... She sensed a weak signature of... Ice element? It was very faint, growing weaker. Small animal maybe? [i]No.[/i] Her scales pricked in dread. [i]Dragon.[/i] She knew only two dragons with ice element. Raigi, and that nocturne, Rain. Raigi screamed from behind her loudly, a shrill and terrified cry. Frostblossom quickly flew over, looking around. [b]"Raigi???!"[/b] She called. Howard was alone, looking around with a confused and scared look. [b]"Howard! Where's Raigi??"[/b] Frostblossom asked the bogsneak. [b]"I... I don't know!"[/b] Howard said, shivering. [b]"HELP!! PLEASE!"[/b] Raigi's voice called. FrostBlossom hurried towards the sound, her wings beating as she flew quickly, darting past trees. Raigi was crying, standing next to something... Someone. Rain! He was thrashing about. Frostblossom hissed and flew down, thinking Rain was hurting Raigi, but, as she grew closer, she saw... Rain's eyes were wide in terror, he was bleeding from many bite marks and scratches. He was convulsing, his body shaking. FrostBlossom held him down, pushing him onto his side. [b]"Raigi!!? What's going on?? What happened? Are you hurt?"[/b] She asked, while trying to help Rain calm down. [b]"N-No, I'm not hurt! I heard something crash so I-I went out in the forest to see what it was and saw him! What's going to happen to him...? Is he...?"[/b] Raigi said terrified. [b]"No, he's not dead yet. Calm down Rain, please, tell me, what happened?"[/b] She asked, grabbing some leaves and using them to wipe the blood away. It was no use. He was still bleeding. Howard came trotting up. [b]"Huh?? What's going on!?"[/b] He asked. [b]"Howard! Get me my travel bag! Inside is a some health potions! Grab one!"[/b] Frostblossom called. Howard hurried off. Raigi, his eyes wide and whole body shaking in terror, looked at Frostblossom. [b]"Is there anything I can do?"[/b] He asked her. Frostblossom nodded. [b]"Help me keep him still and on his side. If he throws up we don't want him choking on it, or his tongue."[/b] She said. Raigi nodded, coming around to the back of the Nocturne and then planted his front feet firmly on the feet of Rain. Frostblossom nodded, holding Rain's shoulders. Rain may have seemed a bit untrustworthy yesterday but she didn't hate him and would never have wished something like this happening to him, she wanted to help him, save his life. Frostblossom felt guilty for telling the hatchlings that she didn't like him the other day. [b]"Just hold on, you're going to make it. I need you to fight this with me, you're going to live."[/b] She said, looking into Rain's eyes. Rain stopped trashing as much, but was barely breathing, and he was still shaking a bit. Howard arrived with the health potion. [b]"I got it!"[/b] He said and gave it to Frostblossom. She quickly opened it and called Howard. [b]"Hold his shoulders!"[/b] She quickly let go and the bogsneak held onto Rain's shoulders. Frostblossom held Rain's head. [b]"Rain, I need you to hold still. I'm going to splash this on you, okay?"[/b] She poured the potion over the nocturne's body, watching as the wounds started to heal. She had him drink the last bit, and his ragged breathing eased. [b]"That's good, that's good. Now, can you tell me what happened Rain?"[/b] She asked him. Rain gasped a little, his eyes still wide. [b]"Teeth! Sharp! Claws! Pain! Glowing... Eyes! Trying to find treasure...! Found. [i]It[/i] instead...."[/b] He said, gasping. He suddenly seized up, and the wounds began reverting back to their bloody state. [b]"Oh no!"[/b] Raigi gasped. [b]"Should I go get another potion?!"[/b] Howard asked. [b]"No, just wait! I don't understand why it's doing this..! It-It was supposed to heal him! Something stopped it.... Maybe he can fight the wounds, come ON RAIN, YOU CAN DO THIS! FIGHT THE MAGIC, OR WHATEVER IS KEEPING YOU FROM HEALING! FIGHT IT!!!"[/b] Frostblossom called, her eyes darting back and forth, panicky. Rain gasped and struggled a bit, his eyes glassy. He looked at Frostblossom. [b]"Don't..![/b] He managed to scream, struggling. [b]"Don't what, don't what??!"[/b] Frostblossom asked. [b]"Don't... Let it... Catch....!"[/b] Rain gasped a final time, and then died. [b]"No... No. No, no, NO!"[/b] Frostblossom screamed, pulling him up and shaking him. [b]"Wake up, wake up! D-Don't die! Howard! G-Go get more health potions! Get them!!"[/b] She called, staring at the lifeless body. Howard and Raigi just stood there, looking at their feet sadly. [b]"Howard!!! What are you doing?!?! GO!!"[/b] Frostblossom screamed. [b]"No!"[/b] Howard cried, tears running down his face. [b]"Can't you [i]see[/i]? He's already [i]dead[/i]! It's no [i]use[/i]!"[/b] Howard shouted through sobs. Raigi cried onto Howard's shoulder, and the two cried together. Frostblossom stared at the body, her face blank. [b]"If I could have just... Just, had you go get more sooner... Or used more than one.. He might have, might have... might have made it... You wanted to get more but I told you no... It's my fault."[/b] She said, staring at Rain's body. [b]"No... It's not your fault. He wouldn't have made it anyway, something was wrong. It's no one's fault."[/b] Howard said, sniffling as he came up to her. [b]"You did all you could. We did all we could."[/b] Raigi said, coming over, his eyes puffy and filled with tears. The two hatchlings hugged Frostblossom. [b]"I feel like I could have done more... but I guess you're right small ones."[/b] She wrapped her arms around them both, hugging the closely. ~~~ (The second fight, only one potion used so far in the previous battle and it was used on Rain... Rain... He... The battle was brutal, he didn't make it... Rest in peace small treasure hunter, rest in peace... May you fly with the spirit dragons. ) [/center]

[center][item=Small Block of Granite] Day 3: (Material! Just writing for today.) Frostblossom, Raigi, and Howard were gathered around Rain's grave. His hat was sitting on top of the headstone. Howard used his sharp nails to carve into the stone the other day. It said: [i]Here lies Rain. Treasure and gold hunter, sail boater. He will be missed.[/i] It was short, because they really didn't know much about him. Frostblossom felt horrible knowing that this might be a father, a mate, and a son or brother to someone, and yet, his loved ones would never know what happened to him. He would never return. A tear streamed down her face, she sniffled, and wiped it away. [b]"Come on boys. We need to be moving onward. We need to get out of this area."[/b] She said, flying along. Raigi and Howard nodded, following after the fae. ~*~ Eventually the three reached a clearing in the forest, and decided to make camp. Clearing away twigs and branches and rocks, the made it even nicer. Frostblossom smiled. [b]"How about we make a shelter, so we won't get sunburnt?"[/b] Frostblossom asked the two hatchlings. They all needed something to do, to get their minds off of what had happened yesterday. The two boys nodded, and looked around. [b]"What will we need?"[/b] Raigi asked, eyes bright. Howard looked around. [b]"What do we need to do?"[/b] He questioned. [b]"Well, we've already cleared away branches and twigs and rocks and such, so that's good... Howard! You're a good digger, right?"[/b] Frostblossom asked. [b]"Yeah! I was born to dig!"[/b] He said eagerly. [b]"Alright then, how about you dig a spot in the ground, a nice little hollow big enough for the three of us? The dirt is cool, and will help cool us off in the heat."[/b] Frostblossom said. [b]"Okay!"[/b] Howard began digging into the ground, dirt flying behind him. [b]"Raigi, you can help me collect branches, ones that are still green and leafy. We'll use them to make the shelter, and it'll keep it airy yet shaded."[/b] Frostblossom said. [b]"Sure!"[/b] Raigi said, and they started gathering everything. ~*~ Raigi carried a large branch in his mouth, looking like a puppy that wanted to play fetch. Howard was covered in dirt, and Frostblossom had gathered tree sap and was using it to stick the branches together and curing it with her magic to a glassy amber. [b]"Almost done guys! If you're done digging Howard, you can help Raigi carry that last branch over here, it looks like he bit off more than he could chew."[/b] Frostblossom said amused. Howard raced over, helping him carry it over. Frostblossom helped them line it up, and then spread tree sap on it, and cured it. [b]"All done! Doesn't it look great?"[/b] [b]"Wow!"[/b] [b]"It's so cool!"[/b] Everyone admired it, and then Raigi ran in, flopping down. [b]"This is great! Though hmm... It still feels a little warm..."[/b] Raigi looked concentrated, then took a deep breath, and then blew. His eyes glowed with ice element as his breath made small flurries float around the hollow. It was a tiny gust, and soon Raigi was tired, but other than that, it definitely was cooler now. [b]"Oh!! That's so [i]cool[/i]!"[/b] Howard said, sticking out his tongue and catching a stray snowflake. His eyes brightened. [b]"I wonder if I can make it more shadowy in here!"[/b] Howard's face scrunched up, and with all his might, the hatchling made the hollow darken a just a little. He looked around, mouth agape. He gave a giddy little laugh and hopped around. [b]"Now now you two, elemental powers are great and all, but don't strain yourselves. You're still little and need to focus on growing as well, your powers will get stronger as you get older."[/b] Frostblossom said, though she was smiling. [b]"Now, I'll go gather some plants and Insects, and we can eat."[/b] Frostblossom said. [b]"Okay!"[/b] The hatchlings said, looking at the flurries and shadows. Frostblossom chuckled, and flew out.
