Silverspoon snuck through the forest quietly. He couldn't be seen by the others, because then he would have to talk to them. Talking might reveal his intentions, and he couldn't do that. He heard them having conversations about something he couldn't hear.
Golem, his augite protector familiar, trotted up next to Silverspoon, his tail dragging on the ground. Silverspoon smirked and pulled back a bush. Now he had his sights on them.
Now, his plan would come into action.
Keeping an Augite creation in good working order involves semi-regular patching and allowing the creature long stretches of slumber.

Day 17
Izra, the new pearlcatcher hatchling, grinned up at her mother, who wasn't paying attention. Instead, Gwen was watching Arc, who was sitting away from everyone else. Cori had attempted to talk to him, but he growled at her.
After a few minutes, Gwen stood up, leaving Izra to play with Rain, and sat next to Arc cautiously.
"Don't even bother." Arc rested his head on his paws and sighed.
"Arc, it's not our fault. It's definitely not your fault." She gave him a comforting smile.
"Maybe it is! She didn't survive, and it's my fault!" Arc's eyes filled with tears.
"Day hatched, and we knew she wasn't going to." Gwen nuzzled his shoulder with her head. "At least we have Izra, right?"
"I had to bury them," he said quietly, not meeting her eyes.
"I know." She nodded.
It was silent for a while, and the only sounds they heard were the delighted cries of Izra as she played with Rain. Gwen eventually went back to them, but Arc stayed. If he stared hard enough, he could see through the trees and into the tiny clearing just a few feet into the forest. The sun shined on it beautifully, and the flowers made it look amazing. The only spot that wasn't covered in flowers was the center, where the smallest mound of dirt was piled.
The dyes used in this were of a much better quality than the fibers.

Day 18
"I can't stand the sight of it, Gwen!" Arc yelled. "It's right there! We need to keep moving, anyway."
"Fine!" Gwen yelled back. "Let's go!"
So, they gathered their things and left the nest. Rain stayed back and took her necklace off. She placed it in the center of the flower filled clearing and smiled sadly.
"You won't be forgotten," she whispered. "You can have this to remember us, though."
Then she and ran to catch up with the others. A few minutes passed, and the forest was silent.
Silverspoon crept out from his hiding place and to the clearing. The flowers were squished under his paws. He curled his claws around the necklace and grinned. Golem purred and sniffed it curiously. Silverspoon put the necklace on, tugged at it impatiently, and set off after the other dragons.
These brilliant green stones are often used as game pieces for the Sornieth variant of mancala.

Ridgeback dragons are known to string hooked feathers along nets and drag them through the water, gathering up hundreds of smaller fish while taking care not to fall in.

Day 20
The dragons rested in the abandoned building, silent. There wasn't a noise to be heard. Everyone was sleeping, except for Arc. He stood up and walked around for a few minutes. He organized his bag again. He did everything he could think of, but he couldn't stop thinking about it.
Arc sat back down and rested his head on his paws. He closed his eyes. At least he could sleep, and not have to worry about his thoughts.
Some moss took a lichen to a tree. (Special thanks meenahray.)

Arc sat guard near the doorway of the house. The sky was dark and there wasn't any light to be seen. He clutched his pearl tighter to his chest. His tail swished nervously. There was someone outside. He could feel it.
Arc watched the darkness for a while, but nothing was there. He stood up and walked back inside to wake someone else up to guard the house. He didn't take his eyes off of the doorway, even as he fell back asleep.
Many dragons believe that whispering a secret into a leaf and releasing it at night will curry favor with the Shadowbinder.
