The first Bird lead his clan of seven and gained a name for Avis among the other clans living in the area already. Eventually they carved a home for their little family. Bird and his mate, Astrapia set the ranking rules in Avis that are still followed to this day. [indent][b]Leader[/b] - Only ever one at a time, almost always male [b]Rank 2[/b] - The select few that are in this class are the Leader’s elite fighting force. Never more than five at a time. [b]Rank 3[/b] - Highly skilled fighters [b]Rank 4[/b] - Guards or Trainers/Teachers [b]Rank 5[/b] - Commanders of the regular fighting squads. [b]Rank 6[/b] - Most in the clan are found in here [b]Rank 7[/b] - Most in the clan are found in here [b]Rank 8[/b] - Most in the clan are found in here [b]Rank 9[/b] - Most in the clan are found in here [b]Rank 10[/b] - Start of the weaker dragons [b]Rank 11[/b] - Weak fighters/older dragons [b]Rank 12[/b] - Weak fighters/older dragons [b]Rank 13[/b] - Weakest dragons. No one cares what they do as long as it doesn't harm the clan.[/indent] In order for a dragon to break out of their birth rank they have to fight a dragon in a higher rank normally to the death. (Sparrow is against this to the death rule, saying it weakens the clan and their bond. He has them just switch ranks rather than the winner killing the losing dragon. Although these to the death fights still very much happen and are encouraged a small group with in the clan that don't like Sparrow's leadership) [center][img]http://i.imgur.com/sNSNO57.png[/img][/center] The current leader is Sparrow, who is the youngest leader Avis has ever had. His twin sister Raven and him hatched from the same egg, much to their parents surprise. Sparrow was much smaller than his sister and one of his eyes was missing the pink coloration that Arcane dragons had, but he could still see out of it. He has a vision for his clan and hopes to be one of their greatest leaders. Normally it is in the week of the flight festivals. She does this by handing special colorless ribbons to a small group of dragons. The ribbons will do one of three things when midnight hits. [LIST=1] [*] Turn to dust - Meaning they haven't yet met their life mate [*] Stay white - Meaning they've met their lifemate but their lifemate wasn't given a ribbon that night. [*] Turns a color matching that of another dragon - meaning the dragon who's colors match are new lifemates [/LIST] This night is a night that is met with butterflies in stomachs and excitement, but it can bring sadness because if a couple doesn't get matching colors or one of their ribbons turns to dust then its normally the end of their relationship. And in extremely rare cases two dragons are given a ribbon and are announced as lifemates who aren't in love yet. There has been cases where dragons have lost their ribbons. They have to wait for the next month to see if they'll be given a ribbon again. If one of a lifemated Pair dies in someway the other will follow shortly after. This can happen even before a lifemated pair is announced to the clan. For this reason there are dragons who chose to not seek a lifemate.
