Interesting matters and views on site lore
Views on exalting: Exaltees are honored by being chosen by a deity. They get the "call" and something within them changes with it. However they need to be ready both physically and mentally to serve a deity. Some of my dragons were not ready yet and chose to change clans instead (example), some decided to serve a deity on their own without getting a call. Those ended up either not going, or getting the call for their efforts. Exalted dragons go to the Windsinger and serve him for eternity, let that be military service, secretary services, food distribution, or anything needed that the particular dragon is talented in. Exalted dragons can keep in touch with their loved ones via messengers of the deities (and messengers of their previous clans) once a month (unless an urgent matter requires an immediate contact).
Views on immortality: Dragons can't die unless killed by physical or magical forces, but they can suffer from illnesses and suffer psychologically. Sometimes suffering for eternity is much more cruel than death itself. Dragons not fed for a long time go into hibernation and need help from others to return to their previous forms.
Views on scrolls: There are magically enchanted scrolls around Sornieth with magic great enough to change a dragon. The gene scrolls are received as a high honor from other clan members, a sign of trust and acknowledgement. There are no eternally young dragons in my clan (and probably never will be) but I imagine them to be the oposite: a scroll given as the greatest punishment for dragons who cause too much trouble or make a huge mistake. Generally evil dragons who would be dangerous as fully fledged adults may get that punishment too. On the other hand I think some dragons who are inexperienced with magic and experiment a lot may end up cursing themselves or others to be eternally hatchlings. That is also a possibiliy.
Views on gijinkas: Gijinka is a (somewhat) human form of the dragon. Only the strongest dragons can shapeshift and they usually can alter their human forms, meaning the form they appeare in for mortals is
chosen by them. However they can't change their colors, though they can apply any color on their body to any human part of their gijinka body (meaning hair color can be secondary color or tertiary color or even the tip of that tail which is different due to the iridescent tail). Some choose to keep dragon features (like horns, pointy ears, ... ) even in their human forms. The reason can be showing of superiority, getting used to some body parts and feeling incomplete without them and even taste in fashion and appearance. This freedom of shape makes dragons change their gijinka forms from time to time, though most keep their forms set after discovering their "true human self". Dragons only shift into their gijinka form when having business with mortals, never when they are among themselves.
Views on Guardians' Charge: Charge is something more than love (not necessaryly in a romantic way): the need to protect and follow everywhere and anywhere. Some Guardians never find theirs and they are totally fine, healthy and live their lives in harmony. Others have difficulty because of their Charge being an object, a deity statue, or something from an other clan they simply can't keep to themselves. Others can have charges of groups, like a whole clan, a batch of hatchlings or even familiars or humans. Some Guardians are strong enough to force themselves against their charges or shut their urges and leave their charges. This demands great strength though and makes the dragon unhealthy if keeping up for a long period of time. Some Guardians still have a Charge even after a breed change. Some dragons changed into Guardians develop a Charge after a time.
Views on outside clans: There are dragons in the clan responsible for keeping in touch with other clans and negotiations. Other clans are there - one can not shut their eyes and say there are no others. So there needs to be some meetings and negotiations from time to time. There are contracted clans and friendly clans, and dragons who live elsewhere and are great friends, but the whole clan is not connected to this one, so it waries.
Views on celebrating birthdays: Dragons live so long they get tired of their birthdays and almost never celebrate it. The maturation day of a hatchling is a big celebration with family and at the weekend there is a ceremony for the dragons who matured that week with a Speach from Gaithrel and lots of flowerfalls. 50th, 100ths and so on every 50 years dragons usually have a fest as an honor for their age and usually others gather all the great things the dragon has done in the past 50 years and they tell stories and give gifts to them. However some dragons might forget to count their age and these celebrations might take place a few years late.
