This is mostly for my own personal reference, but I'd appreciate comments! Clan Voluistis loves to RP and trade with other Clans.
The Temple and Clan Voluistis Location:
Clan Voluistis is located on the plains of the Mirrorlight Promenade. The Beacon of the Radiant Eye is visible in the distance, and closer in the field of view is the entrance into the Hewn City. The Clan is close enough to the river to have water access, and the pine trees native to the region provide shelter and shade.
1. Library/Greenhouse - This smallish building has a duel purpose. Some rooms in the building are full of books, and dedicated to being the Clan’s library. The other part, with the built in sunroof is used as a greenhouse of sorts. Nature dragons like to come here to relax. The Clan gardener oversee what grows here, and often grow beneficial or medicinal herbs. They also keep the greenery in check, not allowing vines to creep over into the library rooms.
2. Zela's Laboratory - Often avoided by Clan members, as explosions occur here frequently. The Clan Alchemists experiment and create here, as well as any visiting scientists or academics who have experiments to preform. -Lore Under Construction-
3. Speaker's Platform - Where announcements are made, and where the Clan Leaders address the Clan.
4. Clan Storehouses - This is the building that houses the Clan’s “hoard.” Most Clan treasures, unless related to the Temple itself, are here. The Librarian Athenea keeps detailed records of it’s contents.
5. Trade Hub/Inn - Caravans and traveling merchants make their stops here. This building is a large indoor market of sorts on the ground floor, with the top floor serving as an inn and tavern for travelers not visiting for some higher purpose.
6. General Clan Residency - Where most of the Clan members live. Features many hallways with branching rooms. Has an underground tunnel area for storage, or rooms for dragons who prefer to live down there.
7. Curia - Previously a building for the Clan Council members to live. Now it is used for any pilgrims visiting for an extended stay to cleanse their mind and body before wishing before Karna.
8. Guard Lookout - A building uniquely situated to be able to see for miles of rolling hills in the surrounding territory. Guards take shifts here as lookouts.
9. Temple Attendants - Temple Attendants live in these halls, alongside guards of Karna and of course Gobi.
10. The Temple - The famous waypoint to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, the main attraction of Clan Voluistis, and the reason it's able to prosper. Priests and Priestesses reside in the lower branching floors of the Temple itself. Temple offerings are also stored inside of these rooms.
The Underground section of the Temple hosts the cleansing Fountain used in rituals, and the artifact Karna itself. Only a select few dragons are ever allowed down there, and dragons wanting to wish before Karna are brought here under escort.
11. Open Square/ General Forum - The main courtyard area of the Clan. Usually bustling with activity.
Other info: You can see the garden area beside the Library/Greenhouse and General Residency Hall which is used to grow flowers and plants for decoration, as well as more practical crops. Dragons are not required to live in the Residency halls, but most choose to do so as the accommodations are quite nice. The buildings not listed above in the picture are mostly ruins at this point.
Leadership:
The larger the Clan grows, so too does the responsibilities of the leaders. The Clan has several groups with some unofficial political power, with the leaders overseeing the Clan officially.
Leaders-
The main government of the Clan is an oligarchy, with all bodies of power delegated from the two leaders.
Clan Leaders:
Karna Priests/Saints-
These pacifists don't have any official political power, but many come to them for wisdom and aid, and they have the ear of the leaders. The Saints mostly stay out of politics, but these eternally youthful warriors are some of the most powerful figures the Clan has.

X - - - Humble Beginnings Born into the land of Light, two ambitious mirror dragons decided to form a Clan. That Clan was warlike, and had no unifying goals or ideals. This led to many disagreements among the members of the fledgling Clan, and fights broke out often. During one such turbulent time, the Clan matriarch Taxon was supposedly given a vision from the Lightweaver herself. The matriarch led the Clan to a beautiful marble temple within the ruins of the Mirrorlight Promenade. Thus the Clan was given a purpose: attending to the temple, and to become a waypoint for travelers to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. The Clan took on the name of Clan Aberrate and began its rise to power. Now dragons and hatchlings alike stop here for training and rest before offering their services to the deity.. |
