I bought an Ice egg from the AH and it hatched into a beautiful [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=7223122]crimson/swamp/grey Tundra female[/url]. I'm going to name the heirs in the legacy challenge after stars, beginning with the letter A and going to J (the tenth heir). So her name is Antares. My goal will be to keep the gorgeous crimson color, but get the swamp to emerald or another bright green, and the grey to white, or maybe mulberry; I haven't decided yet. Breed and genes don't matter to me so much, other than that the goal is to end up with one of the rarer breeds, and triple-gened obviously. *11/18/14* Phase 2 of the Legacy Challenge. Antares and Arcturus's nest hatched, and the heir was a [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=7890669]maroon/aqua/grey Tundra male[/url] who had picked up the Iridescent gene. His name is Becrux. Apparently I'm going more towards blue than green in the secondary color, which is fine with me. *12/10/14* So Becrux and Bellatrix's offspring hatched today, and the odds were in my favor for this nest: 3 out of 4 were Spirals like their mom instead of Tundras like their dad. Unfortunately, the odds were not in my favor for the third heir; that one was the only Tundra, and he didn't pick up any additional genes. He's red/teal/silver, though, which is gorgeous. [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=8514781]His name is Canopus.[/url] I'm going to try to keep his colors as close as possible but move the tert closer to white. Also, it might be better strategy to try to give the next batch of hatchlings a higher-probability secondary gene than Shimmer, so I'm going to try something like Daub or Current for the third mate. *1/3/15* The nest that Canopus and Castula laid has hatched! Once again, the only non-Spiral was the heir, and she still doesn't have any additional genes. Her colors are good -- Carmine/Caribbean/Ice - but she's still Iri/basic/basic and a Tundra and I'm getting impatient, since I'm halfway through the challenge and have only managed to get Iridescent onto the dergs. Also, it seems harder to find red/blue/white dragons in the AH than blue/red/white, for some reason. More people like blue primaries and red secondaries than the reverse, I guess? *2/16/15* [i]*sigh*...[/i] Still no extra genes or even Spiral breed. Boring carmine/steel/ice derg. I'm unhappy with how the RNG is treating me. I wish I could have gone with his little brother, who got both Stripes and Underbelly, but this is still progress. Only 3 more generations now, so I'm really hoping I can make them count. The new heir's name is [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=11512708]Gianfar[/url] and he's chocolate/steel/grey, which is not exactly the color combination I was hoping for in the beginning, but close enough that I can probably get it back to a red/blue/white or something like that by the end. And it will be so much easier now that I can use dergs with Shimmer. You have no idea how hard it is to find a dragon with Iridescent but a non-rare secondary gene in my color scheme... *4/13/15* [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=12297544]Hey look, a Spiral![/url] I finally have a non-plentiful breed! And there are exactly 2 generations to go. His name's Hydrobius, by the way. I'm still trying to get Underbelly and upgrade Stripes to Shimmer, and also it would be nice to get my red/blue/white color scheme back... this one's chocolate/charcoal/grey. Not exactly a riot of color, haha. But I'm just happy he's not a Tundra! *5/13/15* Nest hatched. This time it's a beige/thistle/ice Spiral named [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=13131984]Izar[/url], and she's pretty but very pale and not at all the color scheme I was going for, haha. And she has Underbelly! Now I just want to get the secondary gene to be a gem gene. 1 more generation to go. I'm probably going to be choosing Izar's mate carefully (and giving him a J name, since apparently there aren't a whole lot of star names that start with I) so it might be a while until that last nest hatches. *6/30/15* Izar and Jih's nest hatched, and although I would have preferred the second hatchling (such beautiful blues!) I'm satisfied with the result.
