i'm gonna bump this once bc i could use some input or critique on my most recent drawing, this dude [url=http://40.media.tumblr.com/d6b014cbd641d27cd99ea8bfa2da6369/tumblr_o2iylcP6fe1t0t62io1_1280.png][img]https://41.media.tumblr.com/b8ef9f853c67bb5b5f1145785ef6e923/tumblr_o2iy09kWIK1t0t62io3_r2_1280.png[/img][/url] namely the color/shading! i normally do very flat & simple shading (& i probably will usually do that still for the sake of time), but i tried some different techniques on latte & i'm not sure how i feel about how it came out, or if there are other techniques i could use to improve this kind of look/things i should tweak or pay attention to in the future? i'm not sure if i'm just uneasy with the defined shadows + my brushy style together or what. idk, i would appreciate anything! no biggie if nobody sees it :p

my only critique on the Latte picture might be that the tree branch on the right side of the picture looks flat compared to Latte herself, since it has a smaller range of light-to-dark. I would suggest pushing for darker darks (vs. lighter lights) in this specific image, since the muted tone has a nice appeal :)

@hanazawa ahh thank u very much! i have a decent amount of background in drafting & flat rendering since i was an industrial design major (tho not very good at it, lmao), but painting & shading- especially shading complex scenes with multiple objects or light sources- i have never really learned about, so your specific critique is extremely helpful! :D

finally started drawing again, and added the new two up top! i am gonna try to do the rest of my tundras soon, so i can at least knock out the one species.
