Creative Corner

This is both a continuation of my old story Proving Grounds and a new story in itself. Set in about the same location, but with a completely different cast. There will be references to the old nuzlocke, but I'll try to keep it so you don't have to read Proving Grounds to enjoy this one!

Even though she has grown respectful of the other dragons, she refuses to speak to anyone besides Warpwind, and would likely leave if anything ever happened to her friend. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/419.png[/img][/center] Eve- Oddly familiar with the forest, he acts like a ghost. Eve stays clear of most of the everyday business of the dragons, but seems to like their company. When alone, he stares off into space, as if remembering an time long passed. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/1144.png[/img][/center] Feather- Refusing to keep his head in his own business, Feather very much enjoys the company of dragons, especially Gimel. He's always there to lend a hand if needed, and barely considers his diminutive size to be an issue most of the time. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/3071.png[/img][/center] Starfish- With his head held high, Starfish rarely does anything not in his own interest. Clover seems to be the only exception to this, as despite his outward appearance he cares extremely deeply for the Guardian he calls his bond-friend. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/14442.png[/img][/center] Rose- Highly independent, Rose dislikes interacting with anyone, dragon, beast clan, or other. Biri, whom she hatched and raised from a wind egg, is the only other creature she seems to care about, loving the Pearlcatcher deeply. She's willing to go to extremes to keep her child safe, even if it endangers her or others. Inky loves the company of others, despite what her partner, Alvar, might like. Even though she can have a hard time communicating, joy always seems to be an easy one for her to get across. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/16489.png[/img][/center] Vessa- They don't care much for other creatures, dragons and beastclans alike. Only trailing Kaj as a source of amusement, they keep their distance from any personal connections, fearing to be hurt again. Vessa's voice, although they are versed in the dragon's tongue, is so uncommonly heard, that most believe them to be a mute. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/622.png[/img][/center] Harley- Harley is a performer, and loves to be in the spotlght around her friends. When strangers are around, however, her personality flips and she will barely say a word. Often teased about the drastic changes, she always takes it in stride, not letting anything get to her. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/16263.png[/img][/center] Seaweed- Rarely seen by the other inhabitants, Seaweed lives in the nearest water source to the clan's home. Usually a nearby pond, he prefers to keep to himself, but is not against roughing up the unlucky hatchling who strays to close to his waters. [center][img]http://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/11679.png[/img][/center] Li-Tai- Oddly noble for a familiar, Li-Tai comes off as standoffish when you first meet her. She takes everything extremely seriously, and only got involved with dragons because she felt it would offer her more than taking care of the young. By now, her parents had probably figured out she was gone, but there wasn't anything they would be able to do to stop her. Pea had good reasons for leaving, but she had known her parents wouldn't have understood if she'd tried to explain. They wanted her to stay in her old clan, to tie herself down to dragons that called themselves family. But she had known the Windswept Plateau was never going to be her home, so she had left. Without much thought, she had just started flying. As it turned out, her path had led Pea straight to Shadow territory, the creeping darkness a good place for her to hide. Landing along the coast, she settled into the roots of a dead tree, resting after her long flight. Becoming completely still, he listened closely, trying to figure out if this noise would be a threat or not. As he was staring intently at the brush, a duskrat crawled out of the foliage. Relieved it wasn't an enemy, Ryth pounced, snatching up the duskrat, downing it in one motion. He smiled with satisfaction before moving on. A lone hatchling was vulnerable, and Ryth did not intend to die anytime soon. His parents had left him out here right after he hatched, completely unfazed by Ryth's cries as he pleaded to be taken back. He hadn't done anything wrong, why were they leaving him here? Shaking the memory away, Ryth trudged onward, towards the coast, determined to prove them wrong. He could survive just fine. He wasn't weak. Still, he chuckled to himself thinking about what had happened. They all overreacted, it really wasn't that bad! But his old clan had chased him off anyway, furious about all being covered, head to tail, with bright yellow dye. It had taken him ages to gather up all the flowers he needed, and even longer to grind them up into dust to mix with water. It wasn't even permanent! Yet here he was, running away from an angry swarm of dragons, as north as he could possibly go. His legs had started to fail him just as he got to the southern border of the Tangled Wood. Collapsing with the receding tide, Silail figured he had enough time to rest before the tide came back in, or at least he'd wake up if he was about to drown. What he didn't notice, was the pair of bright green eyes staring at him from a nearby tree, or a dark silhouette slinking through the bushes nearby.

[center][u][b]Day 1: Introductions[/b][/u] Pinkerton Pull: [item=Depleted Sacridite] Sentence: Writing Pinglist: @kayswimmer, @Leopardmask, @MystriDragon, @Perelandria[/center] Pea watched the Coatl in front of her for about fifteen minutes before deciding to wake him up. Creeping slowly out from under the roots of her tree, she slunk over to him, unsure of how to go about waking him up without endangering herself. She poked and prodded the sleeping mass, but he wouldn't budge. Right as she was about to give up, she spotted another shape out of the corner of her eye. Pea dodged out of the way just in time, causing the Guardian attacking her to launch himself directly into the snoozing Coatl. A few shrieks later, Pea had managed to remove the two dragons from each other, despite being half their size at best. She looked back and forth between the two of them, as they both stared back at her. After a few minutes, she spoke up, "Well, I guess someone should start talking! I'm Pea, and you two are?" "Ryth," the Guardian mumbled, obviously uncomfortable about this situation. "I'm Silail, nice to meet you." The Coatl spoke more confidently, but there was something that told Pea he wasn't entirely sincere. "Well, I guess it was nice to meet you two, but I'm gonna go." She had rested here long enough, and she could probably disappear more easily if she was deeper into the forest. Sure, her family probably wouldn't find her here, if they were even looking, but what's the harm in adding a bit of extra room between you and the thing you're trying to avoid? Just as she was about to take off, she heard a cry from behind her. "Wait!" Ryth shouted, "Why are you leaving? Couldn't you..." He awkwardly shuffled from side to side, not wanting to finish his sentence. Sighing, Ryth realized that Pea probably wouldn't stay, she had no reason to. Thinking about it for a second, Pea smiled. "Sure, why not? I'm guessing that you live around here, then?" Ryth nodded in response, surprised that she actually agreed. "Well I might as well stay here, too!" Silail declaired, "I've got nowhere else to be." "As long as you two don't attack each other again, then sure." Pea looked at the two dragons in front of her. This was already starting to feel a lot more like home than her old clan ever had.

[center][b][u]Day 2: Exploration[/u][/b] Pinkerton Pull: [item=Dappled Clucker] Sentence: 40-50 Battles in the Coliseum, replaced with Writing Pinglist: @kayswimmer, @Leopardmask, @MystriDragon, @Perelandria[/center] Pea scrambled up the tree, shuffling through the leaves to make her way above the canopy. Moonlight shining down on the forest, she stretched her wings, ready to fly as far as the wind will take her. It took an effort to stop herself, the Wind in her calling, but there was something that caught her eye. A break in the trees, not too far away from where she was now. It looked like it was at the base of a nearby cliff, Pea noted, so it shouldn't be too hard to find it again. Scrambling down from her perch, Pea started back towards their current base, excited to tell the other two about her find.
