[center][img]http://orig00.deviantart.net/3c37/f/2015/297/2/c/where_we_went_header_by_rexcaliburr-d9ea4dp.jpg[/img] [b]hi! thanks for coming here. i'm sure the creative corner is mostly full of nuzlockes and pinkerlockes. those are by far the only literature i've really seen out here aside from lore. well fear not! this is neither a pinkerlocke nor a nuzlocke. this is a flight rising-centric nanowrimo novel. what is nanowrimo?[/b] nanowrimo stands for national novel writing month, in which people all over the world take up the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel throughout november. that's right, 1st to 30th november is all you have to write a 50,000 word novel. anyone can participate from any part of the world! you don't get a money prize or anything for finishing it, just bragging rights and the satisfaction of knowing you wrote 50,000 words in a month and have something to show for it. if you'd like to participate, go to http://nanowrimo.org/ [b]synopsis[/b] Every dragon lives waiting for the day they will be called upon by their reigning god to fight an endless war in the Otherworld, millions of miles above the skies of Sornieth. On their way to the dominance battlefront, the Shade, a cruel and dangerous entity, claims lost dragons, throwing them into another land. A group of dragons left to find life on a foreign land are faced with a major problem when their reigning goddess, whom they've dubbed 'The Console' starts to lose her tireless battle to keep her children safe from the Shade, and dragons begin turning corrupt. Those that remain are left to fight those they love for what they have. [b]just a heads up![/b] this story alters some basic flight rising lore and explores my personal ideas - including what the shade is, what it does, these alternate lands, etc. i highly doubt any of these correspond to official lore so please don't beat me up for it or tell me 'hey, that's not what happened' because i'm really branching off on my own here. this story is also flight rising based, but it focuses on a flight rising minecraft server called flightcraft. all characters are players on this server (which i do run and i do have permission to use their names). so you will see some minecraft-like aspects in this story, including materials and minerals that show up from time to time. however, imagine this story doesn't take place in a block world and takes place in a world very much like our own. so things are not made of blocks. also, i am starting a bit earlier than nanowrimo would allow as i am working throughout november and may not have the time to hit that 50,000 words. so i'm bending rules a little here, please don't hit me for it. i do this for fun. this thread is for feedback, so feel free to post! chapters will be posted on a separate thread where no one but i am allowed to post. thank you! please do let me know if you'd like to be on a pinglist for new chapters ^^ [b]word count:[/b] 54,862[/center]

She was the first dragon to wander the forgotten lands and with the help of her best friend, formed the nation that lives there today. She is sometimes seen as a mortal representative of the deity that reigns over them - The Console. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Spectra Female Imperial[/b] As the second dragon to touch Scyria's soil, Spectra acts as second-in-command and Rex's best friend. She also oversees all activity on Scyria and watches new incoming hatchlings. Nothing ever gets Ookami down and she is often found zooming all over the lands to make sure everyone's doing okay. She will also not hesitate at a cry for help. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Prongss Female Nocturne[/b] Prongss (or Pringles, as she is affectionately called) is primarily in charge of keeping new hatchlings in check and making sure they don't venture beyond borders into lands unexplored. She routinely does head counts of dragons in the area to make sure no one strayed too far and explores borders to find new areas the clan can expand to. However, her claws do more than just heal. In her off time, Choco is a magnificent builder and can occasionally be caught up past midnight sketching building designs. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Delirax Male Coatl[/b] Delirax is an expert builder of automated farms. If one were to stumble upon a massive automated farm, it was probably left there by this odd Coatl. He spends his time going around building farms and frankly speaking, no one really knows what else he does. Day and night, one can easily find her in her personal alchemy room, making potions and spells for others to use. Some of her potions can be a little... dangerous, but she welcomes cautious use of them, and so long it's not used on other dragons. Status: [color=3745DB][b]Missing[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Dusuki Male Coatl[/b] Dusuki doesn't exactly know what he's doing. Effectively, he spends his time messing around with Bonnie (affectionately called Bonbon) and often finds himself embarking on large build projects for no apparent reason. No one can doubt his skill in building - many of Scyria's buildings were contributed by Dusuki one way or another. She fulfils her duties to the clan, yes, but wanders off on her own often, sometimes beyond borders. Her travels have hardened her into a strong and capable warrior, and she is not afraid to exert her strength against those who threaten what she loves. He's likeable, fun to be with, and hatchlings sometimes like to hide in his massive fur - more so in the cold seasons. He has devoted his life to Choco and can be found around her quite a bit. If he's not around her, he's bone-fighting with Rex. This tireless Skydancer has enough energy to light up a room and the hatchlings - and dragons around her alike - love it. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Butter Male Guardian[/b] Butter sticks close to Dusuki all the time. He's an expert hunter and often brings home plenty of food that could last the clan for days on end without getting more. One can always rely on this Guardian to keep the clan going in times of need. Even where prey is generally sparse, he'll bring home something big. Of course, she means well and offers her services to her clan all the time, despite her typically anti-social behaviour. She's got a bone to pick with Delirax (and likewise). Ravera is also a warrior in her own right, carrying with her a blade forged in the coldest, sharpest ice that will never melt. When Ravera has time to herself, she holes up in a small library found in the hollow of an old tree, deep within the thick forests of the Viridian Labyrinth. The books there are written by a handful of popular authors in their community, and are always being checked out. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Sandy Female Coatl[/b] Wise by nature and kind by heart, Sandy is looked up to by many dragons. While she does not hold a position of high power amongst the clan, she is sometimes asked for advice due to her level thinking and ability to evaluate every situation and find the best possible reaction outcome - some things that Rex does not often do. She fulfils duties given to her, but where possible, is holed up somewhere researching the process of exaltation. She is also a librarian, very much like Ravera, choosing to surround herself with books instead of dragons. Status: [color=3745DB][b]Missing[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Roseus Female Wildclaw[/b] [sub](The image is a male but poses)[/sub] Roseus is the clan's astronomer and weatherman. She lives in the watchtower just about the central hub, recording the stars and watching weather patterns. From her tower, she can also take note of dragons going in and out of the territory. For the most part, Roseus remains in her watchtower, only coming out of it to restock on supplies and help anyone in the hub if they need it. If these odd jobs involve fireworks or any other type of explosive, even better. Prophit’s dry humour and even drier grin makes them look a bit odd at first, but their friendliness soon wins people over. Exalted from their original clan of their own volition, Prophit sees Scyria not as a prison, but as an excellent new puzzle to solve. And solve it they will, no matter the consequences. Status: [color=1B962C][b]Alive[/b][/color] [/columns] ----- [columns] [b]Crisis Male Imperial[/b] An ex-member of the Capital, Crisis fought with the Shade before and by sheer strength and willpower, got away without turning fully corrupt. His partial-corruption led him to deciding to leave dragon territory and find a life in no man's land instead, where he as a single dragon, flourished. Crisis is still protective and considers himself an ally to any dragon of the Capital, and aims only to help anyone in need.
