You aren't sure how you ended up here, so far away. Neither are you so sure that you [i]should[/i] be here. The place is lit by candles that all appear to burning their last bit of wick. [br] Some dragons are hooded, sinister. Some are brightly adorned. Their interactions are few and subdued. [br] They notice you and one dragon slowly makes her way over, a hooded Coatl with flashy wings. [br][columns] [br][size=4] Just a few minutes into the conversation, she hears that you're a storyteller. With a little leap, she turns and shouts, "We've got a storyteller over here!" [br] Several of the locals turn and crowd around you eagerly. [br] "Spin us a yarn," they say. [br] "Tell us a story!" [br] Feeling a bit of pressure, you ask for some sort of inspiration -- a theme, perhaps? Or a few words to begin with? [br][br] This contest is based on the potential of first generation dragons on the site, and built to test both your creativity and skill in the craft of writing! Each prompt consists of a pair of triple basic gen1s (listed in the following post) with inspiring names, and you may compete by writing a bio (including name, personality, story(ies) and/or role) for each dragon and providing a Scrying preview of to correspond with the written biographies! [br][br] There will be five prompt pairs and first and second place prizes for each prompt! [br] [*]Entries must be accompanied by a 5kt or 7g paid to @Phaedra. [br] [*]Participation in this competition is open to every flight! [br] [*]Entries should be made via a Google Form - which will remain open until Wednesday, September 2nd at rollover, to give everyone lots of writing time! Feel free to post your writing and/or scrys here if you like, but only entries submitted on the Form will be judged. If you cannot access or submit the form please let me know! [br] [*]You may submit as many entries as you would like. However, only one entry (pair of dragon bios) can be submitted per form. As such, each entry will require a separate submission and fee payment. [br] [*]Bios may be in any format - Short stories, overviews, or any combination. [br] [*]Single dragon bios are an option! You may chose any dragon from the available pairs to use, and these entries will be their own pot, with their own prize! [br] [*]These dragons are here just to serve as inspiration - not as prizes, with the notable exception of the Grand Prize Pair, Smooth Times. [br] [*]The two bios within an entry may relate to one another - but are not required to. For example you may write these bios for a breeding pair, a mother/son pair, a pair of siblings, or friends, or you may write them as though the two have never met one another. [br] [*]The dragons' current names may serve as inspiration, but may be changed for the bio if desired. Likewise, the pair's theme need not be included in the theme of the written entries.
