Last week there has been a massive beach party between the festivals- you can’t have missed it! As the final tents are being broken down and the prizes from various events are being handed out, let's look back at this special event, shall we? Wind, Water and Earth flight organised loads of fantastic events, including a renga poetry game by Wind and a writing contest by Earth where you could let your creativity flow, a trivia game by Water to prove your knowledge, and much more, like games where you could test your luck, solve riddles and build your own windsock. With lots of tasty ice-cold drinks (with ice directly from the Southern Icefield) and exotic food, accompanied by a tropical melody on the breeze, the beach party left nothing to be desired. Beside these fantastic events, the beach party was also a friendly dominance competition between the organising flights! A three-way tug-of-war! The winner of this dominance battle turned out to be Earth, but every flight has earned their rightful spot in the top 3, so each of the three flights can enjoy some well-deserved bonuses and relaxation after a week full of partying. Next time you visit the beach and you go for a swim, build a sandcastle or fly a kite, there could be some great memories flooding in! ----- Wind News Hello, fellow Windies! There is going to be an upcoming registration window for new users starting on 05:30 on July 20 and ending on 05:30 on July 21. This means that soon, we’ll have an influx of new Wisps joining our flight! We need to prepare for this new incoming of fresh young blood. There’s several ways we can prepare for this. One way to welcome these newbies is by springing a spontaneous Windfall on them. There’s nothing better for a newbie than to suddenly receive a kind, thoughtful gift of useful items out of the blue! We can also help newbies by setting up forum posts in the Wind forum to offer them new dragons, advice, or just a friendly hello! Lots of new users will be using our flight-specific forums for the first time, and what better way to introduce them to the amazing forum life than by setting up threads where they can feel comfortable asking questions or getting resources and dragons? Of course, there’s easier, less resource-consuming ways to welcome Wisps into the clan. Sometimes it’s something as simple as sending along a friendly PM or adding the Wisp to your buddy list if you guys get along well. Whatever you chose to do for a newbie, they will most definitely appreciate it! If you’re lucky, you’ll make a new friend in the process, and even if you don’t, you’ll still brighten someone’s day, and that’s always something to be proud of. Newbies are coming.
