For those who aren't familiar with the Nuzlocke game, you can find the info here.

And here is the spreadsheet I use to keep track of my dragons; the ones that survive, a separate sheet for the ones that died, and another separate sheet for stillborn hatchlings.

This is where I'll be writing the little chapters and snippets revolving around the Nuzlocke dragons and my general gameplay. Feedback is welcomed in between if you like.

If there's any interest, I can also have a pinglist for updates.

And now, a summary of what's happened so far... Chapter 1: The Challenge began. The Plaguebringer had released a powerful poison into the Nature domain, causing many dragons to fall ill, and a few of them to die. Qubine, a L25 Mirror, was the only one unaffected. The first deaths were Conan (a Ridgeback male from Water), Athena (a Pearlcatcher female from Shadow), Aerona (a Mirror female born within the clan), and her mate Gondor (a Spiral from the Fire realm). And three newborn Spiral hatchlings born to Haliga and Kraad. The Gladekeeper warned Qubine that their food may be contaminated. So Qubine disposed of it and began grinding for fresh food. But most of the food he hunted turned out to be contaminated as well. The Gladekeeper granted Qubine a single egg to help him rebuild the clan. However, the hatchling inside was male, making it impossible to breed. Qubine pleaded with the Gladekeeper to try to heal Shayla so that they could breed. The Gladekeeper nodded, uncertain if she would succeed. The first Mirror male was named Coco. Chapter 2: Qubine found a Lightning egg while scavenging. It contained a Fae male who was named Dugan. Chapter 3: Qubine found a Gladeswalker cape and gave it to Azalea, a female Fae in the lair who was suffering from the disease. He also paid a visit to his own mate, a Spiral named Shayla. He attempt to leave some insects for her, but Shayla felt too lethargic to eat. He also found a Shadow egg, which contained a male Guardian, who was named Kladeos. At this point, Qubine was growing frustrated with the lack of females to breed. The Gladekeeper offered to take Azalea under her care, and try to relieve some of her plague symptoms to allow her to breed with Coco. Chapter 4: When Coco, Kladeos, and Dugan were grown, Qubine decided that it was time for them to start training. The three entered the Coliseum and battled their way through the Training Fields and the Woodland Path, and then entered the Scorched Forest. Unfortunately, on September 15th, Dugan was killed by the monsters. Coco and Kladeos retreated, and have been waiting for a replacement healer. They built a makeshift coffin using all the wooden planks Qubine had found and took him to the Gladekeeper's lair. With her help, they buried Dugan and paid their last respects. Chapter 5: Qubine found an Earth egg while scavenging. It contained a Mirror female, who was named Anesia. However, the clan was still without a healer. The Gladekeeper offered to take Azalea under her care and try to restore her strength so she could breed. Her first attempt failed, however. When Coco laid eyes on Azalea, he was instantly smitten due to their similar colors. Chapter 6: The Gladekeeper continued to treat Azalea, but still no success. Coco noticed that Kladeos was wearing a Fiery cape, similar to the Gladeswalker cape that Azalea was wearing. Luckily, Qubine had a spare Gladeswalker Cape in his junk pile, so Coco put it on proudly. Chapter 7: Kladeos took Anesia to visit the Tidelord. Since she was still a hatchling at the time, he felt uncertain of the idea of breeding with her. The Tidelord showed them some previews of Anesia as an adult, as well as what their potential hatchlings would look like. He also showed them some previews of the pair with various genes. Kladeos was quite pleased with the hatchling possibilities and was looking forward to breeding after that. Chapter 8: Coco still waited impatiently for Azalea to be able to breed, but the Gladekeeper still wasn't having any luck. He had carved out a tombstone for Dugan, and the dragons flew over to his grave to place it there. Chapter 9: Still no luck in healing Azalea. However, the Gladekeeper encouraged Coco to visit with her, so they could become acquainted before they breed. Coco returned with a romantic red rose to declare his feelings for Azalea, and they began to talk. Meanwhile, Qubine found a Plague egg in the Woodland Path. Kladeos suggested tossing it out of spite towards the Plaguebringer, but Qubine pointed out that there were plague dragons within their lair that were sick from her disease as well. The egg hatched, containing a Guardian female, who was named Corinna. Chapter 10: Corinna proved to be eager to fight the other dragons, even before she grew up, but Qubine stunned her with a chunk of ice. As the dragons went to the nesting grounds to put her to bed, they got a surprise. Anesia had grown up. Chapter 11: The Gladekeeper had finally succeeded in restoring Azalea's strength so she could breed. She and Coco went straight to work, laying three eggs in their nest. The other dragons left them alone. Chapter 12: Corinna grew up, but confronted Qubine about her name. Qubine let her choose a different name for herself, so she took the name Saphira. She was still eager to get into the Coliseum, but Qubine refused to allow her or any of the dragons to go without a healer. Saphira pouted, but waited. Chapter 13: Coco and Azalea's eggs hatched. All three hatchlings turned out to be Faes, but only one survived. A male who was named Kincaid. Coco realized that he felt much more mature now that he was a father. The pairs feeling for each other only grew at that point.

FR Nuzlocke Chapter 14

Saphira paced about, incredibly bored. "All right, so...the nest hatched. So we wait for this little nipper to grow up, and then what? There's still only one healer, and dragons have to be in groups of three to enter the Coliseum?"

"They don't have to be in groups of three," Qubine said, "but it would be the safest bet. But each dragon should have a healer regardless, and each healer needs a fighter to cover them."

"Coco and I are already a team," Kladeos said. "Anesia and Saphira could form a second team. So we need a second healer."

Azalea approached the group slowly and weakly. "I'll go..."

Coco blinked, immediately rushing to her side. "Azalea...no! Not while you're infected! I can't let you put yourself in danger!"

"If you put yourself in danger, then so will I," Azalea told him. "I still have some strength from the Gladekeeper's treatment. I'm sure I can help."

Qubine looked at her carefully. While he shared Coco's sentiment, the risk was necessary to help the dragons become stronger. "If you're certain," he told her. "So now you must make the choice. I can train you so you'll be on an equal level with Coco and Kladeos. Or you can start from the beginning with Anesia and Saphira. Whichever you choose, Kincaid will do the opposite when he matures."

Azalea stopped, taking a long look at her dragon mates. The men, Coco and Kladeos; and the women, Anesia and Saphira. Azalea could honestly say now that she loved Coco and wanted to be with him, but she couldn't help feeling awkward about her son battling with two women. On the other hand, an all-female team sounded intriguing, and the two were on the same level. "I think...I will join Anesia and Saphira. I believe our son will be in better claws with his father."

Coco's eyes widened slightly. It warmed his heart that Azalea had placed her faith in him. He wanted to be sure that her faith was not misplaced, especially after losing Dugan. "Azalea...all right. We'll do our best to keep our son safe." He paused, however, as he looked at Anesia and Saphira. "But you two better keep Azalea safe! If things look bad, get out of there!"

"We'll guard her with our lives," Anesia replied, as she glanced at Saphira. "Won't we, Saphira?"

"Yeah, sure," Saphira said, somewhat bitterly, although she was more looking forward to fighting to the bitter end. Wimps.

@Kaial See, I didn't even get pinged for that response. XD Anyways, without further adieu... FR Nuzlocke Chapter 15 Anesia, Saphira, and Azalea returned to the Viridian Labrinth after a long day of training in the Coliseum. Azalea was more exhausted than the other two, but all three were breathing heavily. Qubine, Coco, and Kladeos watched them, concerned. "Azalea!" Coco called out. "Are you hurt?" "I'm fine..." Azalea replied. "Just tired..." "It's just as Qubine said," Anesia remarked. "The creatures were pretty vicious out there. If it wasn't for Azalea, none of us would have survived." Saphira averted her gaze, ashamed for having underestimated the Coliseum battles. "It's true. I enjoyed the challenge, even if it was more than I had anticipated." "You'd best steel yourselves," Qubine warned. "The venues will only get tougher as you progress. This is why I stressed the importance of healers." "We understand that now," Anesia said, glancing over at Azalea. "Thank you, Azalea." Azalea smiled weakly. "I'm glad I was able to help." She stopped though, looking around as she noticed the absence of the Fae hatchling. "Where's Kincaid?" "He was playing over yonder," Kladeos said, pointing somewhere through the trees. At that moment, Kincaid burst out from the branches, flapping his wings, flying awkwardly like an injured bat. Despite his flapping, he could not stay airborne, and he fell to the ground in the middle of the dragon circle. "Kincaid!" Azalea cried out, looking at him closely. Kladeos joined her side. "Trying to take off a little early, aren't you?" Kincaid picked himself up and turned to move back into the trees. Just before crossing through the leaves, though, he stopped and faced the group, letting out an anguished, chirping cry. The dragons exchanged confused glances. "It looks like he wants us to follow," Qubine said. "Let's go." Kincaid moved as fast as he could, still trying to fly to maintain the best speed. While he couldn't stay airborne for more than a few seconds at a time, it did allow him to move faster than simply crawling. The dragons didn't require much effort to keep up, though they wished they could move faster. Kincaid eventually reached a clearing, where two dragons lay. The Guardian Sabori, and her mate, the Fae Vaughn. Sabori perked up weakly as the dragons arrived. Vaughn, however, lay completely still, lifeless. "Sabori," Qubine spoke to her, no particular emotions in his tone. "This hatchling led us here." "Yes...I told him we needed help..." Sabori replied, her voice weak. "It's Vaughn...I'm afraid he's...he's not moving...please don't let him..." Qubine moved closer, resting a head carefully on Vaughn's body, trying to make out a heartbeat. But there was no sound, and no movement. Eventually, he straightened himself and shook his head. "He's dead. I'm...sorry." "Vaughn..." Sabori squeezed herself against the dead Fae's body. "No...Vaughn..." "What should we do?" Qubine asked. "We can bury him here, or we can bury him in the Gladekeeper's lair." "The Gladekeeper's lair..." Sabori told him. "I would be too heartbroken to be beside him...to be constantly reminded. However...if I should die...I wish to be buried beside him." Qubine nodded, acknowledging her request. "That can be arranged." He glanced at the other surviving dragons. "Well, clan, we've got work to do..." @Kaial See, I didn't even get pinged for that response. XD Anyways, without further adieu...

FR Nuzlocke Chapter 15

Anesia, Saphira, and Azalea returned to the Viridian Labrinth after a long day of training in the Coliseum. Azalea was more exhausted than the other two, but all three were breathing heavily. Qubine, Coco, and Kladeos watched them, concerned.

"Azalea!" Coco called out. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine..." Azalea replied. "Just tired..."

"It's just as Qubine said," Anesia remarked. "The creatures were pretty vicious out there. If it wasn't for Azalea, none of us would have survived."

Saphira averted her gaze, ashamed for having underestimated the Coliseum battles. "It's true. I enjoyed the challenge, even if it was more than I had anticipated."

"You'd best steel yourselves," Qubine warned. "The venues will only get tougher as you progress. This is why I stressed the importance of healers."

"We understand that now," Anesia said, glancing over at Azalea. "Thank you, Azalea."

Azalea smiled weakly. "I'm glad I was able to help." She stopped though, looking around as she noticed the absence of the Fae hatchling. "Where's Kincaid?"

"He was playing over yonder," Kladeos said, pointing somewhere through the trees.

"Trying to take off a little early, aren't you?"

Kincaid picked himself up and turned to move back into the trees. Just before crossing through the leaves, though, he stopped and faced the group, letting out an anguished, chirping cry. The dragons exchanged confused glances.

"It looks like he wants us to follow," Qubine said. "Let's go."

Kincaid moved as fast as he could, still trying to fly to maintain the best speed.

"This hatchling led us here."

"Yes...I told him we needed help..." Sabori replied, her voice weak. "It's Vaughn...I'm afraid he's...he's not moving...please don't let him..."

Qubine moved closer, resting a head carefully on Vaughn's body, trying to make out a heartbeat. But there was no sound, and no movement. Eventually, he straightened himself and shook his head.

@Kaial FR Nuzlocke Chapter 16 The Gladekeeper summoned the healthy dragon clan to her lair to speak with them once again. The dragons picked up Vaughn's body before flying to her lair. "I am sorry about Vaughn," she said when they gathered before her. "However, I do have some glad tidings. Kladeos and Anesia, the time has come for you to breed." "All right!" Kladeos yelled out triumphantly. Then an awkward feeling passed over him as he saw Anesia staring at him with her lined face. Kladeos cleared his throat and bowed to the Nature deity. "I mean...yes, O humble Gladekeeper." "Don't get too excited," Anesia warned. "We'd better bury Vaughn first before we start." "Of course." As before, the Gladekeeper easily scraped a hole in the ground with a single swipe. The dragons placed Vaughn's body inside, and the Gladekeeper sealed it just as easily. "Now, Kladeos and Anesia, if you will?" she asked, gesturing to the nesting grounds. Kladeos bowed again. "Yes, great Gladekeeper." "Let's go." Anesia gave Kladeos a pat on the back as she moved forward to enter the nesting grounds. Kladeos followed, but turned to the others at the entrance. "All right now, the rest of you can beat it!" "As you wish," Qubine said with a hint of a snarl. "Wait," the Gladekeeper called. "There is one more thing. The Tidelord has left us a gift." She lowered her giant tree-like claw, placing a single Water egg on the ground. "It's a Water egg..." Qubine whispered. "It's about to hatch..." The egg hatched open, and a magenta Fae male with sky-colored wings emerged, opening its eyes. "I've heard of a sight for sore eyes, but this is ridiculous." "Regardless, we'll need him," Qubine said. "Now, let's return."
