TOPIC | Coliseum Beta - Known Issues / Changelog
Thanks for helping us beta test the Coliseum!

This thread will house all patches and code changes applied to the beta throughout its duration; they will appear as replies in the thread. This opening post will contain all known issues that have been reported to us, have reproducible steps, and have been entered into our bug database.

Known Issues

General
  • Abilities & Stats, PVP, use of consumable items such as Potions and Elixirs, loot and experience gain are intentionally disabled in the beta.
  • Clan Rank, Versus Leaderboard, and number of online combatants are not displayed on the main menu.
  • It may be possible to run two Beta coliseum tabs at once. (Note however that there is no loot or experience awarded in the beta.)
  • Many players are reporting that the Camping screen is too small, making it difficult to see. We are actively researching a solution.
  • The bottom bar buttons can pop up over the Stage Select screen if the client's internet connection is slow or cache is empty.

Organize Party
  • The XP progress bar in Organize Party does not match the old Coliseum.
  • Adding dragons that have never been used in the existing Coliseum to your party may prevent you from getting into battles, as they have not had their default battle stones assigned. Because the beta does not modify dragons in any persistent way, this issue may persist for now.
  • Dragons with long breed names (like Pearlcatcher) or given names (like 'PurpleStarDimmet') may cause their energy bar to shift slightly to the left in the Organize Party list.
  • Dragons that cannot afford to raise any stats (i.e. may have "1" stat point) are appearing in the Stat Points Available sort list.

Battle & Abilities
  • Tooltips for status effects are not implemented.
  • The on-screen text for "Dodge" and "Miss" is not implemented.
  • The level of the dragons on your team does not display in the bottom left of their portrait during battle.
  • Turn ordering may have variations vs. the existing coliseum. Specifically, dragons with 2x Ambush may interleave their ambush turns instead of two turns for the 1st dragon, two turns for the 2nd dragon, etc.
  • Turn-by-turn gameplay in battles may feel slightly slower than legacy Coliseum due to the point at which the ability menu is available for input after the last attack has landed. We are actively researching a solution.
  • It is possible for more than one set of enemies (sometimes from different venues) to spawn into a single battle.
  • Flying dragons do not appear to float in battle.
  • Buff & debuff icons are anchored to the wrong side on dragon party portraits.
  • Floating enemies "drop" when they are defeated.
  • Tooltips for abilities are displaying in the middle of the battle screen.
  • It is possible for some enemy names to get cut off on the left.
  • There is a chance that the "______ defends" text will not draw above the message panel that houses it when a dragon uses the Defend ability.

Visual Effects Options
  • The visual effects for elementally strong damage (screen flash) and elementally weak damage (gray damage numbers) are not implemented.
  • Weather does not animate when Weather Effects are toggled on and Rich Visual Effects are toggled off.

Keyboard Controls
  • In battles that have more than three enemies, it is possible for key designation icons to become obscured for enemies that are hidden in the back.
  • The ESC key, which is used to back out of ability/item/targeting, will kick the browser out of fullscreen mode.
  • When Firefox's "Search for text as you start typing" feature is on, keyboard controls will not function. A temporary workaround is to turn off this feature in Options -> General -> Browsing -> "Search for text as you start typing."

Mobile & Touch
  • Fullscreen mode does not function on Safari on iOS.
  • Touch Devices: It is possible to create ghosted copies of the same dragon in Organize Party by starting a drag with one finger and then starting another drag with a second finger.
  • Fullscreen does not currently work properly in portrait mode.
  • Sometimes the screen can flicker on mobile devices.

PVP
  • For the time being, and likely for initial launch of the revamp, the PVP system has been disabled. We are performing a lot of backend work to make sure this system functions properly.

  • An issue that would sometimes fail to grant a breath refund to the caster of Eliminate (granted that Eliminate killed the target) has been fixed.

  • We have attempted to improve the usability of Organize Party on touch-based devices, particularly the usability of the Available Dragons list's scrollbar.
  • Enamor should now function properly.
  • Enfeeble should now function properly.
  • Using magical abilities should no longer permanently decrease the framerate of the battle.
  • Running at a lower framerate should no longer cause ability animations to take longer to animate.
  • An enemy scratching themselves to death due to Disorient no longer hangs the battle.
  • If the last dragon or enemy on a team dies of Bleed damage from Shred, the battle should not hang any more.
  • The spinning canvas glitch should no longer occur.
  • There have been rendering performance improvements that may improve playability on less powerful hardware.

  • A bug causing random sort/filter settings in Organize Party was fixed.
  • The breath award animation should no longer delay you from taking your turn, which should speed battles up closer to how things should be.
  • A bug causing the bottom toolbar controls to disappear unless hovered over with the mouse that affected Organize and Stage Selection has been fixed.
  • Fixed a server lock-up that occurred when Drown successfully imparted the Slow condition.
  • Dragons that lose all their HP during battle now correctly have 1/4 of their maximum HP restored at the beginning of the next battle.
  • A bug that could cause battles to get stuck asking for your next action has (hopefully) been fixed.
