I've done a first pass - please let me know if there's anything I've missed!


A lot of people report the same bug. When it's new ones, it's going to happen, but there's a lot of old bugs that older players know about and newer ones don't, which results in people reporting bugs multiple times (not so bad) and having to wait for answers repeatedly (a pain for them)

The known issues list is two years out of date, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't cover every bug that players knew about then (and some of them are fixed now). Our staff are busy bees, so here's a community version!

This is a player-run collation only. No responses should be considered official in any way

This is not an alternative to actually reporting a bug through a separate thread - just a collection for information and to help prevent repeat threads

The latter will be referred to as WWW in bug descriptions because I'm a lazy typist.[/b] [b]Bestiary count is wrong[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: The number by the little book is not what is says in your actual bestiary [u]Bug[/u]: WWW issue - pre-revamp pages cannot see familiars that are only in your vault [u]Solution[/u]: None other than waiting for the revamp to be completed [img]https://snag.gy/xbXIyU.jpg[/img] [b]Treasure/Gem count hasn't updated[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You made some money - by Fairgrounds, or took it out of the vault - and it's not showing up somewhere else on the site [u]Bug[/u]: Probable caching/WWW issue. Information such as changes in treasure values can take seconds to several minutes to transfer across, although seconds is much more common. [u]Solution[/u]: Clear your cache, wait 5 minutes and then check. If it's still wrong, your only option is Contact Us. [b]Item is missing[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You bought an item, but it isn't showing up [u]Bug[/u]: Typically caching issue or WWW issue [u]Solution[/u]: Wait 5 minutes, clear cache, and double-check it isn't in your vault or on a dragon! If not, your only option is Contact Us. [b]Hatchlings not showing up in the Recent Clan Activity[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You hatched a nest, but some - or all - of the hatchlings don't appear in the info box [u]Bug[/u]: Skydancers, Nocturnes and Bogsneaks don't appear in the Recent Clan Activity nest hatch info box [u]Solution[/u]: None [img]https://snag.gy/y3PKvd.jpg[/img] [b]Site keeps requesting sign-in[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: After logging in, the site requires you to log in again one or more times [u]Bug[/u]: WWW issue [u]Solution[/u]: Try logging out then logging in again. Signing in again may also work (make sure to allow the page to refresh automatically if you get the 'you appear to be logged in' page) [b]Site page is missing information or doesn't look right[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You've got to a site page by clicking a link or using a bookmark and something isn't right - for example, Bogsneak PSDs are missing from the skins page [u]Bug[/u]: Not exactly! You're probably looking at the www version of an updated page. [u]Solution[/u]: Use site navigation links or try www1 instead of www in the URL you have.

Fairgrounds just isn't working
Issue: Can't access the Fairgrounds or games do not load
Bug: Unknown
Solution: Try the Alternative Socket found through Account Settings


Tidal Trouble volume interface has no effect
Issue: Neither the volume slider nor the mute button do anything
Bug: No idea
Solution: Mute the tab in your browser (typically by right-clicking the tab at the top). It may also correct itself after a few minutes.

Literally. [u]Bug[/u]: Commonly perceived as an ambush problem, the issue is that the first turn is always skipped [u]Solution[/u]: None [b]Breath drop between battles[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Your breath was 87, or 90, or 100 at the end of the last battle - and now it's lower? [u]Bug[/u]: The way eliminate effects are currently calculated means that your breath is maximum 85 after using it as far as the server is concerned. This can increase if you scratch after using eliminate, but it probably won't be as high as it looks. [u]Solution[/u]: None [b]Dragon alive at 0hp[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: It's a miracle! [u]Bug[/u]: Rally gives your dragon +5hp which is present for calculating deaths, but doesn't show up on the hp bar until the next battle [u]Solution[/u]: None other than refreshing [b]Coliseum freezes at end of battle[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Enemies are dead but you've got nowhere to go! There's a bunch of different known causes! [u]Bug[/u]: A Dainty Wavehopper dropped while in Redrock Cove [u]Solution[/u]: None other than refreshing [u]Bug[/u]: Bleed effect from Shred killed the enemy (does not always cause freeze) [u]Solution[/u]: None other than refreshing [u]Bug[/u]: It's 0:00, 08:00 or 16:00 FR time [u]Solution[/u]: Wait until :01 and then it'll either continue automatically or using Defend will cause the battle to complete [u]Note[/u]: In all cases, you do get the loot, you just don't see it [b]Enemy died but Eliminate breath did not refund[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Typically only seen in Golem Workshop when fighting Construction Miths, the enemy dies but you don't get your breath back [u]Bug[/u]: Eliminate breath refund seems to check for enemy health [i]below[/i] zero, where enemy death checks [i]at[/i] zero. If you deal exactly the right amount of damage to kill, the death triggers but not the refund. [b]Coliseum loads, but can't interact with buttons[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Clicking the buttons in a coliseum battle has no effect This has multiple potential causes! [u]Bug[/u]: Safari does not play well with the coliseum. [u]Solution[/u]: Mousing over the Alert button top right causes it to react again in some cases, but others may be unfixable in this browser [u]Bug[/u]: Zooming does not always work properly [u]Solution[/u]: Try resetting your zoom (Ctrl-0 in some browsers) [b]Dragon does not show up in Party list[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: A dragon in your lair needs training, but cannot be found in the party selection list [u]Bug[/u]: Not a bug! [u]Solution[/u]: Dragons must be named and over {20/50} energy or they will not be able to fight in the coliseum. Dragons that become too hungry while you are in the coliseum will be automatically removed from your party [b]Dragon has no battle stones[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: A dragon you have brought into the coliseum has no battle stones, and can do nothing except defend or use potions [u]Bug[/u]: Dragons that have only just aged up into adults typically have no battle stones [u]Solution[/u]: Wait a short while and they will appear [b]Potions missing from potions window during battles[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Potions that are in the hoard cannot be found in the potions selection window [u]Bug[/u]: Too many potions in your hoard appear to 'push out' any potions of any kind past a given number. (May be 1024 potions, but unconfirmed) [u]Solution[/u]: Hoardsell or move a few stacks of potions to your vault and reload the coliseum. [b]Festival items are dropping, but the festival hasn't started yet[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Items for a festival due to start after rollover are dropping before rollover [u]Bug[/u]: Not exactly a bug. It takes time to add everything in, and putting things in before rollover gives the staff time to get everything else in and check during downtime. [u]Solution[/u]: Enjoy the early rewards! [b]No experience gain when fighting/no victory chain bonus[/b] [i]Issue[/i]: You're fighting but you're not getting any XP for it! Hard to train those dergs this way. Either that or you're getting XP but without that shiny Victory Chain bonus. [i]Bug[/i]: Not a bug! [i]Solution[/i]: To get XP, you have to fight in a venue within 5 levels of your dragons (higher or lower). The further from your level, the less XP you get. For a victory chain bonus, you have to be fighting somewhere the same level as your highest level dragon (or higher).

Can't access Fairgrounds/Coliseum
Issue: Having never used the fairground or coliseum on a PC (probably) you simply can't load them
Bug: There's a popup that's either invisible or can't be clicked on mobile, which is a seizure warning.
Solution: Log on to FR and access either with a PC. Mark the don't-remind-me checkbox and okay the warning.


Can't rearrange dragons
Issue: You can access the page, but you can't pick up dragons
Bug: The way that the arrange page is written just doesn't work with touchscreen interface
Solution: PC, I'm afraid.


Coliseum Party and Stats scroll bars keep scrolling to end
Issue: Inability or difficulty in accessing battle stones or dragons due to the selection window scrolling all the way to the top or bottom when attempting to scroll
Bug: Touch screen-page coding interface issue
Solution: Perseverence or PC

A dragon exalted prior to a flight change is listed as exalted to your new deity
Issue: You used to be in Flight A, and exalted dragons. You are now in Flight B, and those dragons' pages say they were exalted to Deity B.
Bug: Not a bug!
Solution: Dragons exalted by you travel with you to your new flight.


Tiny dragon
Issue: My dragon's size stats are tiny, and the breed isn't a small one!
Bug: Dragons breedchanged to nocturnes or bogsneaks are given very small size stats
Solution: None


Someone's icon dragon is not in their lair
Issue: Someone's icon dragon is in someone else's lair - or at least not in theirs any more
Bug: Possibly? Dragon icons are generated by dragon ID only, and that doesn't change when the dragon moves lairs
Solution: It's not really a problem to be solved!


Familiar in hoard, but can't add it to a dragon
Issue: You can see the familiar in your hoard, but when you go to the 'Change Familiar' page it doesn't appear
Bug: Not actually a bug!
Solution: Only one familiar of any type can be applied to a dragon in your lair. Familiars are bonded with by type, not by specific familiar, so doing so would not give you any advantages either.


Dragon cannot be sold on the AH
Issue: When trying to sell a dragon, it doesn't appear in the list. It's got no apparel or familiars and isn't already in the AH
Bug: Not a bug!
Solution: The dragon is almost always in your coliseum party.


Can't name dragon
Issue: Error pops up when trying to name dragon
Bug: Not a bug!
Solution: Dragons can no longer be renamed/named when listed on the AH


Can't give dragon a 2-letter name
Issue: You've seen a dragon - or named one yourself - that has a 2-letter name. However, it's not working this time
Bug: Renaming scrolls have a different check to the initial naming process. Renaming scrolls only allow 3-letter or longer names, but naming for the first time allows 2.
Solution: None


Rearranging dragons makes the familiar and AH icons vanish
Issue: When moving a dragon to another page in the Arrange mode, all the other dragons lose their familiar and AH icons.
Bug: Visual bug - vanishing icons have not affected the dragons in any way
Solution: Change lair page then go back to the original one and all icons will have returned.

I will only cover blatantly obvious and uncontestable gene issues here. Not going to list the 'this colour looks a bit wrong' ones for my own sanity!

[img]https://snag.gy/xoXua2.jpg[/img] [b]Crim asks for an item that's not in the game yet[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Crim has asked you to give her an item that hasn't been put into the game yet (e.g. Football Mums) [u]Bug[/u]: The item has been added to some of the game info (in order to be able to post the icon in, e.g. a caption contest or for a near-future update) but not anything that allows you to actually get one. [u]Solution[/u]: Ignore it - nothing else you can do [size=5]Crossroads[/size] [b]CR error says you don't have the items, but you can see them in your hoard[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: On trying to complete a CR, you or the other person are getting a message saying '___ no longer possesses the items for this trade!' [u]Bug[/u]: CRs keep track of items in your hoard using some kind of ID or locator which isn't kept when the items are moved - even if you put them back again [u]Solution[/u]: The CR is a bust, I'm afraid. Make a new one, and make absolutely sure you don't do anything with that item! If you have multiple of an item it can be difficult, but you can e.g. CR the first familiar in the row of identical ones and auction the last and the CR will not break. Treasure is not tracked either - you can go below the amount and back above without breaking the CR. Because CRs do not remove items, you can select a dragon twice, but the CR will not progress while the dragon is in there twice [u]Solution[/u]: Don't do it because there's no point and it'll produce an error when trying to send/create the CR

Something's not right! [u]Bug[/u]: Not sure what causes it, but not uncommon. Can prevent you vaulting an item if it's not supposed to stack at all. [u]Solution[/u]: If the item is vaultable, sending a chunk of the stack to the vault and taking it back out should fix the issue. If not, list a partial stack on the AH and remove it for the same effect. [size=5]Bio[/size] [b]Bio deleted on submitting (and is also gone in edit mode)[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You've typed up a fantastic bio, loads of work gone in. You hit submit... and it's gone. It's not there when you try and edit the bio again, either. [u]Bug[/u]: There seems to be some html handling in the forums, and it reads angle brackets (such as used in hearts) as tag indicators, breaking everything after it. [u]Solution[/u]: Not exactly a solution, but best practice - write your bio in a text file or similar, then transfer over to submit. Either that or remember to copy it onto the text file before you submit. [b]Bio deleted on submitting (but is still in edit mode)[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Your wonderful bio vanishes when you hit submit. Everything seems to be there when you go back to edit it though. [u]Bug[/u]: Your own! Somewhere there's a missing [ or ] bracket... [u]Solution[/u]: Time, a sharp eye, or posting the code inside the [code][/code] tags on the help forum and hoping someone's feeling nice! [b]Text in bio is orange[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: If there's a hyperlink in your bio text, all the text turns up orange! [u]Bug[/u]: Not sure why it happens, but it's only visible on your end. To everyone else, it looks black. [u]Solution[/u]: Since it appears correctly to everyone else, you only have to fix this if it bothers you personally! Use this tag: [code][colour=black] [/color][/code] [size=5]Achievements[/size] [b]Achievements aren't registering[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: All the required items are in your hoard/dragons in your lair/etc, but the achievement has not popped up [u]Bug[/u]: Most achievements are severely laggy, and may take up to weeks to arrive. Chain of Fools is currently disabled entirely. [u]Solution[/u]: Waiting, unfortunately [b]Achievement percentage does not match the achievements page[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You have e.g. all the achievements in gathering, but the percentage completion is 43% [u]Bug[/u]: Not a bug! [u]Solution[/u]: Some achievements are hidden until you get them, like the higher level gathering achievements. [size=5]Apparel & Dressing Room[/size] [b]Can't buy apparel slots[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: The option to buy more apparel slots does not appear [u]Bug[/u]: When not at 100% zoom the buy button is hidden [u]Solution[/u]: Reset your zoom to 100% (Ctrl-0 may work, otherwise in your settings). [u]Solution[/u]: Send in a Contact Us ticket explaining the issue. It's a known bug they're happy to fix manually. [b]Dressing room outfits based on permababied dragons break[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You've created an outfit with one of your dragons as a base. That dragon is now a permababy, and the outfit does not load, taking you to the Dressing Room main page instead [u]Bug[/u]: Bases are based on specific dragons, rather than generating a base from that dragon. Since you can't put apparel on hatchlings... bang. [u]Solution[/u]: None known [size=5]Skins[/size] [b]Skins icons show up but clicking on them does not give the preview[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: Posting skin items does not allow you to preview the skin on your dragon [u]Bug[/u]: Not a bug! [u]Solution[/u]: The information that icon gives you will tell you the skin ID. Use skin=ID instead of item=ItemName. The layers in Accent Parts should clip to the Accent Goes Here layer. [size=5]Messages[/size] [b]Clicking the delete button appears to remove pages before confirming[/b] Issue: Selecting one or more messages then clicking delete immediately drops one or more pages from the page count above the message box. Clicking 'No' does not put them back. Bug: Not sure how this happens, honestly. Solution: Refresh or read a message and go back out and the number will revert to the correct value [size=5]Forums[/size] [b]Deleting forum thread fails[/b] [u]Issue[/u]: You don't want that thread any more, so you go to the first post and try and delete it. Instead, it takes you to the still-existing thread again when the page reloads.
