would you consider checking out the subspecies/lore organization the pair is part of, called FL/GHT?
They're a resistance group dedicated to freeing all artificially engineered or altered dragons from a mega corporation named Project - who makes androids, but scraps them the moment they prove defective with hardly a care for cruelty.
