Striped Glaciers have only been found in the deep wastelands of Cloudscrape Crags roaming and playing in the wonderful snow and sliding over the ice in search of food. Most of them are found in groups of 3, not counting their children, roaming the world. Home will always be in the beautiful iceland. Even though most like to travel the vast world they all come home once a year to have their babies. None have been seen, especially of this Subspecies, having their babies anywhere else.
The smokey swirls on their body add color to their icy bodies. These swirls are minerals picked up as the parents travel and passed on to their children. These creatures like to explore new lands so that is why each baby looks different. These Dragons mimic ice glaciers with elements pulled up and frozen like beautiful works of art.
There have been reports in studying them that have shown some evidence that the elements of the world causes the tert gene to be the colors they are. Now how and when this happens is still unknown but the beauty is unreal. Some speculate that in their adventures the pregnant females pick up enough mineral deposits to affect the tert or their babies.

At the lair in the deepest corner of the Fortress of Ends, wild magic is practiced by a commune of dragons that gather together in their mystical interests and communal, friendly demeanors. No one stands above another at the lair, and all are welcome. It is a place of peace and tranquility and acceptance for practitioners of magic to wield their arts.
There is mostly never an accident. But recently something considerably *un*-trivial happened. A large contingent of dragons were working on something secretive. It was nothing nefarious; the dragons in this lair prefer to enhance beauty and knowledge with their arts. But it was no small feat of magic they were working. Alas, it went awry. Something or someone in the casting of the spell made a mistake in the holding. No one is casting any blame, it is what it is, but the spell flung out and escaped.... and landed on a nearby glacier... with these interesting and unexpected results.
The lair at the Fortress of Ends was getting inundated with a special kind of Snapper dragon. Beautiful and graceful and imbued with frost magic. Striped Glaciers.
