They make their home on the shores of a lake hidden inside the Viridian Labyrinth, hedged in on all sides by dense jungle. The lake is clear and cool and the plants around it sweet and green, stems bowing under the weight of every sort of fruit and flower. The bottom of the lake is littered with half buried gold, lost treasures, and mossy-soft balls of algae that roll merrily about in the current. But where did all those treasures come from? Were they carried in by the river's current over the decades, or was this lake once the hiding place for a great hoard that was forgotten? And what's more than that, how did the two of them come to be here, and what were their lives like beforehand? Neither of has answers to these questions. Their only memories from before living in this place are clouded feelings of disappointment, regret, and the firm decision to turn their backs on what they knew in favor of starting life over. They both suspect that this hidden lake is supernatural in some way, perhaps even a gift from the gods- some long forgotten but lingering blessing from the Gladekeeper. How else could such a perfect place exist? Where they are never hungry, never come under attack from outside, never fall sick? Where every child they raise seems to develop some seemingly random natural talent all on their own, with almost no training? Surely such a precious gift is worth dedicating one's life to standing vigil over. So the two of them stay, tending small but lovingly built shrines to the Eleven. They teach their children to respect the gods, live simply, and be thankful for what they have. Once the children grow enough to make their own decisions they are freely allowed to travel out into the world. None of them have ever returned, and Akan and Myvatn suspect that once a dragon has left the lake, the jungle closes in protectively around its secret, swallowing up the return path. It's bittersweet thing, but their kids are strong and clever... and is it too much of a leap to think that perhaps they carry some blessing with them as they go?
