KNOWN VARIANTS:
THE TRUE FAETHERS
'True' Faethers have subtle primaries that fade naturally into the Seraph wings. True Faether are the normal form of this species and have no particular distinct qualities that set them apart from the rest.
Primary: Basic, Ripple, Iridescent or Crystal. Gene depends on what suits seraph most naturally, as the primary should be lighter than or fade directly into the seraph's inner or lightest band.
Tertiary: Underbelly or glimmer. Gene depends on what suits seraph most naturally, as the tertiary should be darker than or fade directly into the seraph's darkest band.
Eyes: must match the overall colours of the fae.
Overall: must be XYZ.
Example: orange ripple, tomato seraph, blood underbelly, fire faether.
THE PROUD PAINTED FAETHERS
Painted Faether, affected by unusually strong swirls of elemental energy, manifest the chaotic spirals of the Cherub gene instead of the more gentle gradients of the True Faether. Their tells center around the spirals and stripes of their Primary gene.
Primary: Cherub. The primary should be lighter than or fade directly into the seraph's inner or lightest band.
Tertiary: Underbelly or glimmer. Gene depends on what suits seraph most naturally, as the tertiary should be darker than or fade directly into the seraph's darkest band, OR take a light or dark colour from the cherub gene.
Eyes: must match the overall colours of the fae.
Overall: Can be XYZ or XXY.
Example: honeydew cherub, chartreuse seraph, murk underbelly, wind faether.
THE CURSED FALSE FAETHERS
False Faether, rare, cursed creatures, and combine two opposing elements - Shadow/Plague, Nature/Fire, Water/Ice etc. Misleadingly named, the False Faether are as powerful as any other. Their tells are distinctive, appearing to cause physical harm to the Faether.
Primary: Basic, Ripple, Iridescent, Crystal or Cherub.
Overall: must be XYZ, but the colours must be of two opposing fae elements, as if you have fused two faethers of different elements. It can be nature-nature-fire-fire eyes, or ice-water-water-ice, and so on. You can play around with this theme.
Eyes: must match one of the elements represented on the fae.
Example: aqua crystal, caribbean seraph, phthalo underbelly, water-lightning faether.
Need more den tasks and den gem slots. Too many pretty dragons and I'm all maxed out. I have a dragon hoarding problem.
