QUIETCLAWS
a nature subspecies
This is a breeding hub, for the purpose of selling QuietClaw dragons, hatchlings and dragons to help breed them
LORE
Deep, deep within the Shrieking Wilds, where the gold and silverbeasts rule and danger is the everyday, lives a few scattered clans of Wildclaws.
These Wildclaws live in the darkest, most dangerous places of the wilds, the places few other dragons dare go; and to survive where dragons not only hunt but are hunted, they've adapted differently.
Where most of wildclaw society worries about honor, duels, survival of the fittest and taking challenges head on, QuietClaws don't have that luxury if they want to survive. They focus on camouflage, blending into their surroundings and striking quickly, disappearing if you take your eyes off them for a moment (and sometimes when you don't). They'll still wildclaws and still use the favored wildclaw tactic of charging and shrieking at opponents, but only once the battle has already begun, or they have no choice. They prefer their opponents to never even know they were there.
Some wildclaw clans consider them cowards for this, despite how legendary their battle prowess is. So Quietclaws withdrew even further from wildclaw society, and other dragons.
That was years ago. Now, they are so reclusive that many wildclaws insist they don't exist, they're just stories told by grandmas to the hatchlings. Your cousin swears they saw one once, but it was only a glance out of the corner of their eye.
You ran into a Wildclaw that looked the spitting image of what the stories said Quietclaws looked like, once. But when you asked her about it, she just laughed and shook her head.
"I get that a lot," she said. "Everyone knows they don't exist, though, right?"
You heard a noise and turned your head and when you looked back around, she was gone.
