The sky stretches out above you in a seemingly endless expanse of blue. Clouds dot the heavens like wisps of cotton, pure and white. Barely a stone’s throw away the cliff plummets down into a roaring ravine, where a river winds its way through the valley. You hold yourself still, least you make one wrong move and fall over the edge and into the treacherous waters far below. High above, a black dot grows larger as something makes its way towards you. As your eyes follow its path across the sky, you realize what it is and take a few steps back to make room for it on your lonely ledge. The skydancer falls from the sky with grace, yet lands heavily before you, its plumage bright and colorful. Almost parrot-like in similarity, the creature’s feathers seem to hold every color of the rainbow. One solid-colored eye peers at you from behind a mask decorated with beads and feathers, and in a feminine voice she speaks to you for the first time. “Hello,” she said, her neck bent elegantly to accommodate for your short stature. “My name is Ren. You must have come to seek out a hatchling of your own from one of our nests.” You nod as she turns to one side and crouches, offering her back to you. “Well? What are you waiting for?
