HH002 THE HOLIDAYS So you may ask, what holidays does the Holiday Hub Celebrate? Here is a complete list along with the color requirements for each: IMPORTANT: Both parents must have the same color range in the same slots to qualify as a breeding pair. For example, Red/Red/white and Crimson/Tomato/White is a perfect Santa/peppermint pair, but a Red/Red/White with a White/Red/White does not match and does not qualify as a pair. For New Year's Day, this means both parents must have identical tertiary colors. Dragon pairs that do not produce holiday themes 100% of the time do not qualify as holiday pairs. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the hub or contact one of the Holiday Coordinators. :) Since this hub was created during the largest holiday season, we will kick off the Holiday Hub Calendar with Christmas! Christmas Day (December 25th) Feel that winter chill in the air. Smell the intoxicating aromas from gingerbread cookies, Christmas trees, and cinnamon. In order for a breeding pair to qualify as a Christmas pair, they must be the following color themes: - Christmas Spirit Theme - All three colors need to show! A tertiary gene is mandatory for all Christmas Spirit Theme pairs. Which tertiary gene you apply is completely up to you! Primary, or Secondary, or Tertiary (this color can only be used in one slot) Maize, White, Ice Primary, or Secondary, or Tertiary (this color can only be used in one slot) Seafoam, Jade, Emerald, Jungle, Forest, Swamp, Avocado, Green, Leaf, Spring Primary, or Secondary, or Tertiary (this color can only be used in one slot) Rust, Tomato, Crimson, Blood, Maroon, Red, Carmine Matching Eye Colors: (this is required only for Holiday Fanatics) Wind, Nature, Light, Plague, Ice Example of a “Christmas Spirit” breeding pair: x - Santa (or Peppermint) Theme - A tertiary gene is only required in cases where the primary and the secondary are in the same range. THE HOLIDAYS
So you may ask, what holidays does the Holiday Hub Celebrate? Here is a complete list along with the color requirements for each:

IMPORTANT: Both parents must have the same color range in the same slots to qualify as a breeding pair.

Since this hub was created during the largest holiday season, we will kick off the Holiday Hub Calendar with Christmas!

RULES and REGULATIONS
Here are the Rules and Regulations set in place to make sure this community remains a pleasant place to be!

- Treat you peers with honor and respect.

- We all come to disagreements at some point in time, but if you feel it necessary to pursue a grievance with another user, take it to private messages and settle it there. Remember we are all capable of agreeing to disagree.

- Using a play on words to be vulgar or insulting to someone else in the community is far from appreciated and will warrant a kick and ban from the Holiday Hub.

- The only dumb question is a question that is never asked!

- You can only post holiday themed dragons recognized by the official Holiday Hub list for sale and/or trade. If the dragon does not accurately represent a holiday theme, it may not be advertised on the thread. If a dragon is 100% the right colors but is missing a gene, it may be advertised/sold on the thread! Just make sure to let your buyers know what genes are required to make the dragon qualify for that theme.

- Once a hatchling you have up for sale/trade is no longer in your possession, please update your post to reflect this change! Deleting posts does not count against your total post count! ;)

- If you see someone post a question you feel you can answer, go for it! Try to be as helpful as you can. If you aren’t completely sure if you are right, ping the Holiday Coordinators.

- Any and all custom images drawn for the Holiday Hub are to be used ONLY by Holiday Hub members. Do not claim the work as your own nor repost it outside of FlightRising unless your intentions are to use it to link back to the Holiday Hub.

- Members may only use the badges assigned to them according to the rank they have in the Holiday Hub.

- Failure to return dragons to the original owner after a nest rental will result in a warning. If you do not comply, the offense will be escalated to the FlightRising moderators and you will be blacklisted from the Holiday Hub.

- Every member is expected to take part in the community. Don’t be afraid to comment on anything. Need to break the ice? Just remember, all of us here love holidays and it’s a good starting point for a conversation!

- Remember, “Basic” is not a gene!

- Please do not send out mass pings using our breeder roster. The member list exists so you may contact members individually. Members are encouraged to check the board often and request to be pinged by a specific user if they want to be notified about future sales/trades/raffles ect ect. The Holiday Coordinators and I may send out mass pings from a post to notify all members of updates or events that impact their experience here on the hub.

HH007 NEST RENTALS This is a list of all members that have opened up their lairs to renting a nest. Nest Rental is optional for “Getting into the Spirit” and “Celebrating the Holidays”, but it is mandatory for anyone who is a “Holiday Fanatic”. The nest rental service is provided by members only and can only be used by other members of the Holiday Hub. The ping lists are not to be used for sending out mass messages or to promote your own personal agenda through any other purpose outside the hub. Nest renters exist to help each other breed for the right color eyes for our perfect pairs. To become a Nest Renter, send a private message to @Ankylosaurus with the terms/conditions of your rental. Nest Renters may request the following: Day Rental (Where you pay a fee for the full incubation time) Boon (A boon of fertility for the nest to be hatched the same day) Food (if doing a day rental): A full incubation will consume 15 points of food per dragon Before a Nest Renter can accept your request, they must make sure they have room to hold your parents and up to 5 hatchlings. If the lair does not have at least 7 spaces open, then you may not be able to continue the renting process. NEST RENTALS
This is a list of all members that have opened up their lairs to renting a nest.

Nest Renters may request the following:
Day Rental (Where you pay a fee for the full incubation time)
Boon (A boon of fertility for the nest to be hatched the same day)
Food (if doing a day rental): A full incubation will consume 15 points of food per dragon

Before a Nest Renter can accept your request, they must make sure they have room to hold your parents and up to 5 hatchlings. If the lair does not have at least 7 spaces open, then you may not be able to continue the renting process. You must also have space open to receive your dragons back before the incubation period is over!

How to Request a Nest Rental:
Make sure you contact a user to see if space is available. You may ping here on the thread, or send out messages privately. If you ping a person, please be courteous and ping them only once.

TROPHIES
Trophies are special achievements breeders can collect to show their dedication to the holiday spirit! Only the bravest and those who are willing to push themselves above and beyond can reach these!

Trophies can only be earned once per user, per pair of dragons. The same dragons cannot earn the trophy a second time if the pair is traded/sold.

Special Title: The Immortal Lover
You are a Holiday Fanatic! Congrats, but wait there’s more! Both parents from THREE of your breeding pairs have matching eyes AND are born on the holiday they represent. THEY MUST REPRESENT THREE DIFFERENT HOLIDAYS. This is Holiday Hub Heroic Mode! As a reward for this prestigious achievement, you will receive your own unique, custom animated badge designed after the breeding pair of your choice, and a fully colored piece of artwork done by me, Verrilo. :) - There will be a new reward for Immortal Lovers. Those that achieved the trophy before Verrilo's leave will still get the original reward, but a new one will be enacted for all who achieve this after July 2014.

FAQ
Q. What if I have a theme that isn't listed on here?
A. I am always accepting suggestions for new themes! We are doing our best to hit every major holiday with themes that are unique to them. What I have tried to do is break down the color spectrum, then brainstorm what holiday would fit that color.

Q. How do I suggest a new holiday theme?
A. Send @Ankylosaurus a private message and include the following information:
-The name of your theme
-What colors does it include, how many times those colors can be used, what slots those colors are supposed to be in (primary, secondary, tertiary), and what order do the colors need to be in? (x/y/x, x/x/y, x/y/z etc. etc.)
-Gene requirements?
Do not get upset if your theme is not added! Your color combination may already exist under an existing theme. Be sure to check before sending out the message.

Q. Can I suggest variations to an existing theme?
A. YES! I am always looking for new color themes for existing holidays! Follow the format above to send me a new theme suggestion.

Q. If I get rid of a pair, do I lose the related Trophy?
A. No. You earned that trophy, so you get to keep it!

Q. Can I lend my dragons to another user and charge a “fee” so they can earn a trophy then send the dragons back to me?
A. Once a trophy is earned by a dragon pair, it is added to the log along with the user who earned that trophy. A dragon pair cannot earn the same trophy twice, so beware when trading a pair that has already been bred, and earned a trophy! If you match a dragon that has already earned a trophy with one that has not, the trophy resets and you can earn it once again (this is only for the new user as the old user already has the trophy).

Q. If I hatch a dragon on a holiday that does not match its theme (example, a Christmas Theme dragon born on Valentine’s Day), does it count towards the Immortal Lovers Trophy?
A. No, the theme must match the exact day of the holiday it was born on in order to count. For example, a Christmas Themed dragon, born on Christmas day, with matching eyes, counts as a dragon towards the Immortal Lovers Trophy. In order to earn the trophy, you must pair it up with another dragon of the same qualities, of the opposite gender.

Q.Is it ok to breed my holiday dragons any time of the year?
A. Of course you can silly! You can breed your dragons anytime you want. Only the true diehard fans may want to time breeding so they can hatch on a holiday and have an extra special set of little ones with the same birthday as their theme.

Q. Does the birthday of my dragons matter for the holiday theme?
A. No, your dragons can have any birthday. The only time the birthdate itself matters is if you are trying to put together a pair for the Immortal Lovers Trophy.

Q. I have an idea for a new Trophy! Where can I submit it?
A. Truth is there are a LOT of good ideas out there for trophies. I’m sure we could come up with dozens upon dozens of new trophies. We want to keep the trophies special for goals that really push beyond the limits we set for you. The Holiday Coordinators and I are constantly on the lookout and coming up with new ideas for the future.

Q. What about Holidays that are not on the same day every year?
A. Then we will look at the calendar for that year and if it matches, it counts! :)

Q. Can I mix themes from the same holiday?
A. No. Both parents in a breeding pair must represent the same holiday and theme in order to count as a breeding pair.

Q. I have a breeding pair where one dragon is Obs/Obs/Sunshine and the mate is Obs/Obs/Orange. Do I qualify as a Halloween pair, or a New Year’s pair, or both?
A. Only Halloween. The reason you do not qualify for New Year’s is because both parents have to have the same neon color to be a New Year’s pair.

Q. I own one half of a breeding pair with a friend that qualifies as a holiday pair. Can I join as a partial owner of the breeding pair?
A. No, you must be 100% owner of both parents. It would be very difficult to track split breeding because breeding arrangements can change at any time when two different people are involved. You can however advertise the babies that you receive from the joint breeding for sale on the forum if you wish to do so.

Q. My dragon pair meets the requirements of two holidays! Do I get credit for having two holidays?
A. You breeding pair is counted as one breeding pair. If the meet the criteria of more than one holiday, then they can be listed as such, but that does not affect the total holiday count of pairs that you have. For example, Christmas Day has a theme that the color also falls into an Easter Day theme. You can have your breeding pair listed for both holidays, but as they are only ONE pair, it counts as just one holiday no matter how many may match them.
