This, I can do.
I’ve actually done a couple pet portraits as gifts for birthdays etc.
Both as memorials, one for “my” cat who died not all that long ago. Due to this I will always have a grudge against vets, but I digress.
I have not done a bird yet, but I could try it out and you could decide whether you like it or not.

Edit: Also, I cannot guarantee that the art I do for you will look like either of these examples. My style fluctuates with the piece of art I am doing. Different things need to be depicted differently based on personality and such.

Firstly, I'm sorry for your loss. I know losing a pet is like a gut punch. I hope the grieving and recovery has been going ok for you.
I specialize in realistic, traditional artwork of animals. I can ship the originals if the payment is made in USD and I can provide high quality scans (from there I could fax it to you or you could print it out yourself). There was a cockatiel in the middle space there, but I don't have a photo of the finished piece. Here are a couple examples of cats that I have drawn, the first being several years old and showing what I can do with a reference and the second being very recent but drawn without a reference.
