When he arrives and thinks he has his target in a corner, it's quickly revealed that Villain captured Hero instead! Why in the world would Hero be there?

Hero watches a scene from his childhood: Him and Daymie rolling in the grass, laughing. Sorrow fills his eyes, the memories almost making him miss the sight of Villain coming up to stand beside him. When the younger Alfie runs off to play with others, Daymie is left alone, and Villain walks up to comfort him. When Hero tries to reach out, Villain turns his head and shoots the coldest glare at Hero. So cold in fact that the world around him begins to freeze over, and Hero struggles to scream from his body locking up.
Hero shoots out of bed after realizing the nightmare came from Hero leaving his fridge door open.

Villain tries not to admit it, but Hero going out and foiling over villains' plans makes him jealous. Every time he notices Hero's work that's not against his own, his heists get even more dangerous to the point of being sloppy. A humiliating defeat with Hero standing over him causes the confession to come out.

While Alfie and Daymion are holding each other and watching the rain outside the window, the sound of it all reminds Daymion of one of their saddest moments together all those years ago as Hero and Villain. Alfie comforts him.
For an ice dragon, Daymion sure is warm around the one he loves.

Alfie and Daymion meet for the first time after Daymion tried to catch a butterfly and tumbled down a hill. When he stopped rolling, the butterfly landed on his snout, and Alfie came up to coax the butterfly on his claw after giggling at the sight. Daymion gets starry eyes from that.
*Even Villains Have To Make Sacrifices
(Another hatchling story)
Daymie gets really into them playing Hero and Villain and actually uses the little bit of treasure in his satchel that he had for food to buy an old bandanna and a flimsy butterfly mask that's a bit too big for lil Alfie's face. From that idea, Daymion still has that old bandanna, but he folds it in a way that you can't see the eye holes that he cut into it to look like an ol masked robber when he was a hatchling.
*Movie Night
Hero and Villain end up having a heated argument before suddenly a horrible storm traps them inside (thankfully Villain didn't kick him out this time- progress!). Things are awkward for a little while before one of them softly brings up the idea to watch some movies together to pass the time.
Who knew their taste in movies could be so different?
Bonus points if they wake up after dozing off and holding each other in their sleep. Guess it's just their instincts to be drawn to each other.

Hero and Villain are lost, to say the least. They start to get desperate for food since so many plants and insects were burned away in the area. After climbing for a while, they find one small area filled with lush greenery and life, almost like the Gladekeeper lived there herself! Right in the middle of the clearing is a pond and a shack. Inside said pond, one black koi with purple eyes swims around, and despite being Skydancers, Hero and Villain (out of their minds with hunger) fight over who will eat the large fish now swimming frantically away from them. All at once, a light flashes so bright in their eyes that both are temporarily blind, and a soft voice whispers towards them: "Your presence is not welcomed here. Get out."
Everything melts away after that.
When they regain consciousness, they find themselves wrapped up together in a blanket with a bowl of food in front of them, no pond or lush grass to be seen.
*A Merchant's Nuisance (Sennet Highlight)
A heist, a fight, a chase. Villain is causing a huge commotion down the market street as Hero is chasing him down. Suddenly, one strong tail stops him in his tracks and forces him to fall flat on his face! He turns around to see a spiral putting his items back on his stall. When Villain tries to get up to show him a piece of his mind (Hero watching the scene from a little ways away), he finds out that he, an ice dragon, is frozen to the ground! Sennet's magic is so strong that he's able to negate's Villain's own elemental power to "chill him out." Hero laughs so hard about this that he ends up helping Sennet fix his stall back up and apologizing for the commotion so Villain can be let go. Villain now avoids the marketplace like a wildfire after that embarrassing moment he can never forget.

Here's a short summary of the two in general:
Daymion and Alfie were really close friends for years because they grew up together and matched up well. Alfie loved the idea of heroes and always wanted to be one. Daymion, on the other hand, acted as the villain that Alfie would win against during their playtime because Daymion's heart would flutter after seeing Alfie so happy like that. It was just them for the longest time, and every night, Alfie would lay beside him and talk about how fun the day was and how cool Daymion is (it helped make Daymion not feel inferior from being the loser all the time). Well, after a while, Alfie and Daymion grew into their teenage years. Alfie started to really like other dragons and hang out with them more while Daymion still held onto the thought of what Alfie was to him long ago. When they acted like Hero and Villain again, Alfie's ego would surge way over what Daymion likes, and Daymion would find himself hurt and alone after Alfie would walk away to play with others. One day, Daymion snapped from the pain and heartbreak and changed himself to Villain. He masked all of his feelings for Alfie with anger and started to wreck ACTUAL havoc across the lands for Alfie to respond to. Villain only calls Alfie by Hero now, and Alfie only took up the Hero role because of the massive regret he feels for not seeing what his Daymion was going through. They both love each other, but Alfie is the only one acting upon it to make up for his mistakes. He stopped talking to his other friends in hopes of getting Daymion back, but Villain proved to be too far gone after that as he continued to kill, steal, and blackmail people close to Alfie to make him pay for leaving him behind (or so he thought).
Villain is only slowly seeing Alfie's true emotions again. It's more of a "You're only sad because you got caught!" kind of outlook from Villain to Hero than "You're sad because it's all over"
Sometimes they get into funny situations, like Villain and Hero being tied up together chest to chest or Villain and Hero getting drunk in the same bar and Hero won't stop cooing Villain's name and nuzzling his chest floof
