Akihiko lay nestled beneath his wings, having somehow managed to sneak himself into the skydancer's embrace without his noticing, which was quite the feat considering Elodin's job was to notice anything and everything. The younger dragon had fallen asleep there and was now snoring softly on his lover's lap. Elodin lifted a claw and gently began to scratch at the imperial's head, running his talons through his mane. Akihiko made a sound like a purr in his sleep and Elodin couldn't help but chuckle. It was a peaceful moment. Quiet, calm, something Elodin was not often given the privilege of enjoying. His responsibility was to protect Akihiko, the prince, their ambassador, at all cost, so to find a moment of clarity in the chaos was a blessing. However, as all good things must, this too, had to come to an end. There was a crashing like broken pottery and Elodin was instantly at attention. He reached for his blade, taking a defensive position and shifting to protect Akihiko. Seconds passed and Elodin began to think he may need to remove himself from Akihiko and investigate, but a familiar face appeared from behind one of the stone columns supporting the room. Elwyn. "Oh. Oh my, um, I am so sorry." He backed away nervously, having noticed the intimate setting he entered, unwelcome, and somehow managed to bump into the column behind him, tripping over his own claws, and for the first time, Elodin truly saw him. Heaven's most prestigious and powerful angel warrior trapped inside a mortal body. No wonder he was so damn clumsy. "Its alright," the skydancer answered in a hushed voice, trying to avoid waking his sleeping lover. He was able to breathe easy now, relaxed in the fact that it had only been Elwyn who found them in such a compromising situation. He and Shedim were the only members of their clan whom Elodin had entrusted with their secret. Not that he had much of a choice on the matter. Elwyn had practically figured it out himself, only seeking Elodin for confirmation. "Is there a reason you're here?" The skydancer questioned slowly, not wanting to seem hostile but growing impatient nevertheless. "Um, well, it's really not important." Elodin raised an eyebrow, and Elwyn sighed. "I've just been feeling lonely. With Shedim away visiting family, the hoard feels too cold, the cave too large. I'm all alone in there, and you know how much I hate that..." Elwyn trailed off, but Elodin didn't need further explanation. He wasn't the only one who had confided in the other. "If you're asking to stay here, you're welcome to. You know you're always welcome." Elodin was not the most sensitive and sympathetic dragon, but he was always authentic. Elwyn could hear the sincerity in his voice and he didn't hesitate to accept, collapsing almost instantly on Elodin, opposite of Akihiko. He snuggled his head into the skydancer's lap and within moments he was snoring like a newborn hatchling. Elodin couldn't help but wonder how he'd ended up here, cradling his forbidden lover, his prince, and his clumsy, fallen angel leader in his lap, but truthfully he didn't quite care.
