Backstory

Flame was born to an Arcane clan. He always felt apart from his siblings, and was always the quiet one, preferring to work on his magical skills than play with his brothers and sisters. He soon realised that he simply could not do Arcane magic, the very heart of his clan, the one thing every other member excelled at. Instead of this ancient magic, he could control Fire. He began to practice in the woods near his Clan Lair, becoming further and further apart from his clan mates and rarely noticed by them when he was there. None of this bothered Flame, he didn't care what the others thought, only that he had a skill none of them possessed, he had no need for their opinions and rarely paid attention when they were offered. As he grew up, Flame faded away from his clan completely. His departure was unnoticed by his clan mates, mainly because he was always so distant anyway, even his own parents had all but forgotten his existence.

Flame travelled for months, strengthening his inner magic by the hour. He attracted the eye of a curious familiar, who began to follow him on his journey across the Clan territories, always close by his side, but never coming into plain view. Eventually, Flame approached a travelling clan. One of its members noticed him from the edges of the forest and beckoned him over. Flame stood rigid, somehow, he could sense what the dragon was thinking, just by watching his movements. He could read the dragon in a second, knowing instantly what he was planning to do. Flames eyes widened, he flicked his wings, watching the fire crystal glow coming from them. He turned, away from the dragon, away from the first clan he had seen in months, and continued walking, completely ignoring the calling of the dragon behind him.

It wasn't long before he approached Light Flight Territory. The familiar, by now, was perched on his shoulder, watching everything around him curiously. Flame became more cautious as he travelled through this territory. This was the place he had dreamed of, it was exactly as he had expected, bright, warm and exciting. Already, he preferred it to the mystical Arcane lands. He could see a group of dragons in the distance, another clan he presumed. Flame gulped, remembering his previous experience with a clan, that hadn't gone very well. He could still remember the fear that raged inside of him when he saw the other dragon, after so long in solicitude. This time, he was determined to make himself look good. Before he came into view of the Clan, Flame washed his dusty scales in a sun streaked pond, watching the dazzling light from his scales hit the nearby trees. After deciding he had delayed his visit long enough, he set off for the clan and was soon just at the edges of their main Lair. At last he strode out into the clearing, a knowing look on his handsome face.


Frost

Flame felt at home in his new clan, although he was still pretty bad at talking to his clan mates. As he got to know the other dragons, he started to notice a particular Coatl Female more and more. Her name was Frost, and she couldn't have been less interested in Flame himself. All she cared about was her job, which she had devoted all of her time to completing. Every flirtatious effort Flame made towards her, resulted in a scoff and a glare, or sometimes a growl if he got to close. One time in particular stands out in his memory, a time when he had not been in the clan long. He was sitting outside the brimming clan vault. Recently, he had taken the role of The Clan Matchmaker, and was waiting for his Client to pay him for his services. As he sat there he noticed Frost coming towards him on her way to her personal Lair. Now was his chance. Flame stood up and joined her as she walked past, she was one of the only dragons in the clan he had no trouble talking to. "Hey gorgeous" he said with a smirk, watching as she rolled her eyes at him with a sigh "Care to join me to the Hoard?" He asked, trying to catch her eye. She glared sideways at him, answering "No, I'm busy, go away" with that she turned left and away from the Skydancer, leaving him speechless and alone.

The MatchMaker

When aflame arrived in the clan, after he had had his meeting with the Leader, he realised he would need a role to play. He thought about it fir a few days and tried different jobs to see if they were right for him, but he never really liked anything he tried. Hunting was to easy. All he had to do was send a bolt of fire through a small part of the forest to so that. Mage work involved writing in scrolls and creating and documenting everything he did, Flame had never been a fan of writing. That was how he came up with the idea to be the Clan MatchMaker. He loved seeing happy couples walking about, when he wasn't walking through the territory practising his magic. He discovered from this just how well he could 'read' a dragons intentions. He always knew exactly which dragons to pair up, usually with great results. Although he has never discovered who to pair himself up with, that information seems unavailable to him....
