I'll be happy to try out this game and see how it runs. I can't wait!
Flight weariness is actually a really good idea too. That way we don't have the same flight dominating for too long and giving others a chance.
Thanks for all the great updates! :^)

thestorieswesay, I can't play Runestones and can only play a few puzzles because of RSI. I haven't been to the fairgrounds at all lately in order to give things a rest.
Honestly, this is the price of enjoying video games. Sometimes things aren't going to work out right away or sometimes at all. I love Shock Switch because I have keyboard options.
Shock Switch is in beta, it is not the finished product. Instead of accusing them of not caring, you could give constructive feedback, like the warning isn't visible enough, could there be an on/off graphics option, etc. By accusing them of not caring, you essentially shut down conversation. You can't communicate with someone who has made a decision that essentially vilifies the opposite party. It backs them into a corner and sets everyone up for failure.

When is it not pointless? Are the shuddering flashing effects in the coliseum necessary? Because those can set me off.
Are any animations necessary?
Why not just make the games text based? We could just play tabletop RPGs and roll dice, those wouldn't set off seizures for most people, and they're fun. I love playing D&D for example, and that's plenty safe. MUDs are safe and generally fun, and I can play them except when I'm most sick. Text based adventures for the win. :)
My point is, special effects are NEVER necessary. They add atmosphere to the game. And all special effects -- both audio and visual -- have the potential to cause problems for some percentage of the population.
The FR crew were kind enough to put a warning on these games, something I haven't seen on hardly ANY game sites. I do see them on most COMMERCIAL game releases in tiny fine print in the manuals that hardly anyone reads because *sensitive gamers generally assume that special effects are part of the game play experiece*.
Unfortunately this warning seems not to have shown up on your tablet, but that seems to be a BUG, not an oversight.

I'm not going to feel bad about being upset over having a seizure, sorry. I don't see how there is any dialogue to be had other than 'if this isn't changed, I will continue to be unhappy,' so there's not really anything to shut down in my eyes. I understand wanting to defend the developers - that's usually the position I take myself. But in this case, it feels very different for me. It isn't a matter of pointing out that oh, they didn't consider ___. Its that they considered ___ and decided it wasn't important enough to change.
I've said my piece on the matter and would appreciate no further pings from anyone. If you disagree, leave your own feedback. I am just not up for an argument over epilepsy right now. My head is killing me.

Hey, @
Tser, this ain't reddit, gotta use BB code to italicize. ;)
editing:
No one is saying you shouldn't feel bad, no one has said that all. If anything, I extended empathy towards your horrible experience. The pushback you've received is
solely about the assumption they don't care.

As a note I also can't play Runestones over a certain level because the size of the tiles gets too small, I simply can't see them, I have the same issue twitchy has with RSI, etc. etc. All of us have varying abilities and chronic illness can interfere with that sort of stuff. That is not the programmers' fault.

twitchy -- Actually I don't use reddit, haha. I am SUPER OLD SCHOOL, and in the old bbs newsgroup days we just set off our text with asterisks. *shakes her cane*

Tser, I catch myself italicizing sometimes using reddit's code and I have to remind myself, NO NO. I used italics in my old school days as *sticks out tongue,* etc :D

I feel like you're arguing semantics. If they change the game to be more accessible, I will stand corrected and be pleasantly surprised and excruciatingly grateful. If they leave the game as-is, or add more strobing, then they obviously do not care to change it. I would like then to change it, but I see nothing that indicates they are amiable to doing so, since they considered the issue and proceeded the way they did. It is what it is.

While Sock Switch is in a beta state, it will not be awarding treasure.
Your bug reports and feedback can help it reach a full release sooner. :-) If you encounter any errors please report them in the bug reports forum, along with relevant info such as the browser, what you were doing at the time, and any addons you may have been running. If you have a suggestion for the game that is not bug-related, head on over to the suggestions forum and share your ideas. (consolidating to one thread is very helpful and much appreciated.) A mode without effects is a good suggestion.
