Came out of my hiatus to check in for the anniversary and I’m... well, a tad disappointed by the way the item we got is a limited time available, consumable one. An item that impacts a feature that is in itself pretty amazing, mind you. I love the new eye versions and I don’t quite mind the changes to the common ones.
But... As a G1 collector (with a love for oldies) I’m looking at impossible odds of getting even a single dragon among my faves to have anything but uncommon/unusual/rare and that’s just a shame. I did the grinding, the brewing and the praying to the RNG gods before just giving up.
So overall this update leaves slightly bitter note for me personally.
I really, really hope that staff takes the feedback of a large part of the community to heart and rethinks the “retired for ever!” footnote.

It's a joke but take it however I guess haha
This entire update was a great idea, but handled poorly. I can see a lot of people leaving for multiple reasons- And I don;t get why the Staff can't just like... Make Common eyes a thing in the gem marketplace. Tons of people would buy it, and possibly buy more gems to get regular eyes, which would ultimately help them in the long run. Cause. Ya know. Cash flow.

On a good note - my dragons have a nice fat food storage for the first time in months, and my nests are full for the first time in years haha!
This update breathed a bit of new life into this game for me. :)

Adding my voice to the chorus of those very upset that the chance to give my permanent, favorite dragon the eyes I want is going to go away forever tonight.

Wow, thanks for chiming in! You're making this thread a better place!

Yes, this is the exact reason why I didn't want to post here.
This will be my last response as well. I hope you treat others more fairly on here than me!

I'm confused as well. I'm sorry you didn't mean to imply "shut up and don't express your opinions." Maybe English isn't your first language--I know that's a problem a lot of folks run into, but "Just deal with it" almost always carried an implication of: "Shut up and stop complaining."
Either way, it's not a very helpful suggestion when people are upset.

I mean come on. Common eyes, purchasable in the gem marketplace??? Seems like a good idea imo. Honestly, I think they're much more valuable than glowing eyes. Primal and Multi eyes are kinda cool, sure, but the odds of getting them are so low... There has to be some sort of failsafe. I like the idea of not breeding for them, but the RNG can mess up breeding projects. The Staff seem as if they're ignoring these complaints.

See this Shiba? Now look at your comment. Will it make this Sheeb sad? Then don't post it or rethink on how you're going to say what you want to say. It's very rude to name call especially over something like this.
Aside from that...I've been reading what @Supercell has been saying. I suggest everyone give it a look over; it's an interesting perspective from the 'other side' of things. Mind you I'm not saying you must agree or anything like that; just give it a look through.

I own the most wonderful Shiba Inus named Jiro and Lou!
What do Shiba Inus~ like to dream about? Is it dancing Hainus?

well it's.....more than a little distressing to see that the massive outcry for
continued access to scatters
a way to revert to common eyes
has fallen on deaf ears.
i hope the devs reconsider. the premise of this update is really great but its execution makes both the event and the new eyes as a whole completely unenjoyable.

I can't believe I'm the first to mention this, but doing stuff like this isn't at the push of a button. Drawing, designing, coding, and implementing a new item takes time.
The devs could absolutely be discussing and maybe even planning to let us have Vials of Common Sight, but I don't think they will promise us something before they have talked to their artists, coders, and are sure they will be able to release it in a timely manner.
I'm willing to wait a few days to see if they go back through this 300 page thread and put some fixes together. Most of these people have lives, and I know they /want/ to make us happy. But when you make a big change and have a divided userbase - you run risks making changes. It's not something they should rush into, even if it means players are miffed for a few days.
If I want something fixed - I want a good solid patch, not a hasty one.

I gotta admit, I don't see why they'd need to talk it over with their artists. The art is already there.
But more importantly...it deeply worries me that they wouldn't have considered that this would be an item folks wanted before starting the launch. As you say--a lot goes into putting these things together. That's why I'm so confused as to how this went down and how unprepared they seemed for the backlash. Surely they had to know this would happen if they:
1) changed everyone's existing dragons while claiming they hadn't
2) created a new game mechanic and only gave everyone three days to prepare/adjust
3) introduced a random, uncontrollable gene that basically acts as a tert (multi-gaze, I mean. I'm sorry, that should've been a tertiary. It effects the entire dragon. Like, it literally effects more of the dragon that filigree does)
