I opened over 100 chests, and on the very last day I was able to get two Nocturnes from them! I'm very happy with them.

That's because of the rarity of each dragon. The rarity effects the chance of getting which one. Wildclaw and coatl are the rarest breeds. So if you were to breed them with something loke a guardian, the most likely outcome is a guardian hatchling. If you breed a coatl and wildclaw together, it's a 50% chance with either.
Nocturnes are one rarity below that, in 'Limited'. If you breed one with an Imperial, then it's a 50% chance.
