Biography

___________________________________________________________
Locket
Jeweler

| Old dragon - 6 digit|

Locket loved melting metal. How something so hard and cold could be transformed, shaped at his will. That's why he spent most of his childhood in the forges, seeing cold metallic ore melt into a viscous red hot material, hearing the clang of hammers. It brought a shine to his eyes that no jewel could dream of competing with.

He spent his teenage years learning the craft that he loved so much. It was no easy task, no smith worthy of that tittle was a reassuring teacher. But Locket loved every moment of it, his hands were making more beautiful pieces by the month. And when he reached adulthood Locket was one of the more renowned apprentices from the Great Furnace. It wasn't long before he was offered a job in a esteemed clan, and Locket didn't think twice before accepting. Even if it meant moving to the Wyrmwound.

There was some attrition in the beginning though, when he realized who his new clanmates were, or more exactly, what some of them were. Being honest Locket feared disliked all the ones who were not "exactly" dragons, and he made an abundance of silver jewelry just to annoy them. But, with time, he started liking those clan-mates as well as the others. Nowadays he has a part of the shop completely silver-free, though if anyone asked, he claimed that was completely unintentional.

But then something happened, something that would change Locket's life forever. The clan found a gorgeous diamond, even though it was cracked in two pieces, that diamond was the most beautiful jewel Locket's eyes have set upon. Locket immediately offered himself to make the most exquisite jewelry using the rare stones, however, he wasn't the only jeweler in the clan, and someone else also wanted the gem. Her name was Pendant, the loud, happy-go-lucky snapper that worked with him from time to time.

There was an enormous amount of discussion on who should get the privilege to work the diamond. To stop further animosity Jill issued a test, each one of the jewelers would take one piece of the diamond, the one who made the most alluring piece of jewelry was allowed to keep both the pieces.

The jewelers worked without stop for months. The only company they had was each other, together in the clan's forge they tried surpassing each other. But they also started getting to know each other more and more, Locket started to find Pendant's non-stop talking endearing. Without knowing it the piece they were making started to resemblance the other's personality. Like if they were making a painting of each other the hammers were the pencils ,each filigree a color, each polish a stroke.

The moment they were supposed showed their pieces Locket made a decision. He asked to speak first, his intent clear in his eyes, he took just a brief breath to calm himself down. And then instead of showing the piece to the observers he put the Diamond pennant around Pennant's neck. Locket smiled at Pennants surprised look, he took one more breath and exclaimed ardently:

-These past few months have been the happiest of my life. I wish nothing more than to share the forge with you again, to hear your chattering, to see the fire making your scales brighter than the stars, and because of that you can keep that jewel, may it symbolize my love for you.

And for the first time in her life, Pennant was speechless, she was the hopeless romantic one, the chatterbox, but in this moment she was barely able to choke out a "same" while she put the jewelry made by her in Locket's neck.

Nowadays the pair of jewelers can be found happily working in the clan's forge, each of them with a diamond pennant that can only be completed when near each other.
